FOUNDATION RELEASES A GRANT TO SUPPORT AND HELP ROLL OUT
THE NEW MILIKI AFYA HEALTH MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM
Miliki Afya, the Peoples Clinics, is about to go paperless
Netri Foundation, http://www.fundacion-netri.org/en/, a powerful Spanish
based social impact investor has recently signed off a USD 20,000 (Kshs 2M)
Grant to help Miliki Afya establish and roll out the world class Corebase
Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) that aims to make the
entire Miliki Afya healthcare system paperless and more efficient in service
delivery.
The HMIS system, that will be established in all the 3 existing clinics and all
other subsequent future clinics will eliminate paper in the clinics, increase
patient care and manage a sophisticated patient data base and patient
record system that will be seamless across the entire Miliki Afya network.
Netri Foundation, who believe in the ideal of a world without poverty, says
they are happy to lend their impact investment support to Miliki Afya
because they believe that a Digitalized Miliki Afya will reach many more lives
and entrench quality and affordable healthcare to many more Kenyans at the
Bottom of the Pyramid (BOP).
Providing Direct Loans to social impact projects in more than 100 countries
worldwide, Netri Foundation will further to providing the grant, enable access
to technical assistance towards the HMIS system development and
installation.

Miliki Afya patients will now only need to carry a proposed Miliki Afya Medical
Card that will carry patient information that will easily be accessed in any of
the clinics that will be spread across Kenya. Miliki Afya CEO Dr. Ernest

Mureithi, while speaking at a one day Gap Analysis Seminar he hosted for the
Miliki Afya Senior Management and Corebase Limited, the HMIS developers,
was elated that finally patient records would be centralized and that at a
click of a button, all our patients will be able to receive quality care at any of
our clinics without fearing wrong or misdiagnosis!, like many have
experienced in other health facilities.
Miliki Afya intends to roll out the functionally HMIS system before the end of
the year.
Netri Foundation, through its International Investor Relations Manager
Josephine Ragni expressed their approval of working with Miliki Afya and
promised to explore future partnerships that will guarantee the access of
quality affordable healthcare to many Kenyans who lack that aspect of
dignity and hope in their personal lives.
Netri Foundation purposes to offer help and hope to the most disadvantaged,
to the poorest of the poor so that they can lead the dignified life all human
beings deserve.
