RESEARCH FUND
If applying for funds to attend a conference or visit an archive in the UK or
overseas, or purchase essential equipment and materials, please provide on a
separate sheet of paper:

A statement of no more than 500 words explaining the value of the research to
College and your academic discipline.
The nature of the proposed research, the methodology to be employed and expected
results (500 words max.).
The estimated expenditure itemised in detail.
Whether the applicant has received, has applied for, or is applying for, any grant from
any other source for the same object, and if so, with what results.
Whether the applicant has previously applied for funding from the Graduate School
and, if so, with what result (provide details of nature of request, date, amount
requested, and amount awarded, if any).
If a proportion of the grant applied for is intended to be used for defraying the cost of
special assistance full information must be provided concerning the nature of the
assistance required and the skill involved.
A recommendation from your supervisor (300 words max.).

CONFERENCE FUND
If applying for funds to organise a conference please provide on a separate
sheet of paper:

A statement of no more than 500 words explaining the value of the conference to
College and your academic discipline.
A working title for the conference.
Name(s) of keynote speakers and their fees, accommodation costs and travel
expenses (the latter in line with College policy for expenses, available at:
http://www.gold.ac.uk/media/expenses-policy.pdf )
A proposed budget for refreshments, marketing, posters, and any other anticipated
costs.
A recommendation from your supervisor (300 words max).

PUBLISHING FUND
If applying for funds to support publishing online or a small run of books please
provide on a separate sheet of paper:

A statement of no more than 500 words explaining the value of the publication to
College and your academic discipline.
A working title for the publication.
An indication of the number of books to be published.
A proposed budget.
A recommendation from your supervisor (300 words max).
How your publishing project relates to the Goldsmiths Press

Please note the each fund is limited as follows:


Conference funding: 4,500 pa (2,250 twice pa)
Publishing fund: 6,000 pa (3,000 twice pa)
Research fund: 10,000 pa (5,000 twice pa)
The panel may decide to make a contribution to an applicant in order to support as many
students as possible. Priority is given to students who have not previously received funding
from the Graduate School.
The decision of the panel is final and cannot be appealed or challenged.
