work. To pass the subject, you must have an overall mark of 50%. The table below is an

Regulations
A. Late Submission

A 10% deduction per day of total coursework marks (excluding weekends and public
holidays).
Late submission after 5 days of the due date results in an automatic 0% for
coursework. The student will be barred from the final examination.

B. Deliverables
Students must submit all materials supporting their coursework listed in the deliverable
section.

Please make sure that you are aware of the rules concerning plagiarism. If you are
unclear about them, please consult your program coordinator/lecturer.

Plagiarism is presenting somebody elses work as your own. It includes:

copying information directly from the Web or books without referencing the
material;
submitting joint coursework as an individual effort;
copying another students coursework;
stealing coursework from another student and submitting it as your own
Suspected plagiarism will be investigated. If plagiarism is found to be occurred in the
students coursework, it will be dealt with according to the procedures set down by the
university/college.

The coursework should contain a cover page, content of the coursework, proper intext citations and a list of references.
You are required to use the Harvard referencing system.

Research Report (50%)
Students are required to form a group of 4 to produce a research report with a topic/area relevant to
the diploma business studies. The detail breakdown is shown below:
Abstract: The key results in the study (100 words)
1.0 Introduction (500 words) 10%
Background Study: Discuss the current market trend and issues.
Problem Definition: Identify the research problems which is led by the background study, the
meaning of this research is conducted and needed, and how does it contributes to business
practitioners.
Research Objectives: Identify the purposes of this study.
Research Framework: Construct a research framework which consisted with the Independent
Variable (IV) and Dependent Variables (DV).
2.0 Literature Review (1500 words) 30%
Relevant Theories: Explain and discuss the main and supporting theories and concepts which
strongly relevant with the IV and DV.
Previous Research Framework: Adopt the previous research framework to enhance the
reliability of the discussion.
3.0 Methodology (700 words) 20%

Research Methods: Discuss the adopted quantitative method in this study.

Questionnaire Design: Discuss the design and layout of the questionnaire.
Samplings: Discuss the sampling methods and sampling size.
Data Analysis Technique: Discuss the statistical methods for analysing the collected data.

4.0 Findings, Analysis and Discussion (800 words) 20%

Findings Presentation: Present the results by appropriate figures e.g. charts, graphs, diagram,
etc.
Analysis: Discuss and analyse the findings.
Discussion: Relate the findings to the literature review to identify the similarity between the
findings and previous research results.
5.0 Conclusion (500 words) 20%
Conclusion: Summarise the key outcome and issues.
Recommendation: Provide suggestion to improve in the research area based on the findings.

Instruction
The total word count of this research report is 4000 words +/- 10% (main body only). Any work is not
within the word limit will be marked based on 70% basis.
The research report will need to be submitted in to Turnitin and the plagiarism rate should not above
20%. Any work with the plagiarism rate between 20% and 30% will be marked based on 70% basis,
and above 30% will fail the subject.
The research report must be submitted with the complete Turnitin report which attaches after the
research report. It must have the standardize cover page and marking

Presentation (20%)
Students are required to carry out a group power point presentation to explain Introduction, Literature
Review and Methodology of the research report.
ALL members MUST participate in the group presentation. The presentation of each group should
take no more than 15 minutes ( 10% is allowed). A question and answer session will be held after
the presentation.
