TODAYS GAME: Game 4 of a 5-game road series against the Jackson Generals (2-1)...3rd meeting against the Seattle Mariners Double-A affiliate (7-6) and
final series of the year between the clubs in the regular season...are 16-8-1 in
series play...the Shuckers have the best overall record in the Southern League
at 69-51 with a .575 win percentage.
TONIGHTS STARTING PITCHER: 24-year-old RHP Tyler Wagner makes his
22nd Biloxi start and third start in search of his 10th win. The Las Vegas native
ranks among the Southern League leaders in ERA (3rd, 2.33), Wins (T-3rd, 9),
complete games (T-2nd, 2), WHIP (2nd, 1.15), lowest BB/9 IP ratio (4th, 2.74)
and fewest baserunners/9 IP ratio (2nd, 10.55). Wagner ranks 5th in the Brewers
organization with 103 strikeouts...The former Utah Ute tossed a 7-inning complete
game shutout against Jackson at MGM Park on July 31...In his last start, he delivered 7 shutout innings, scattering 6 hits with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts against
Pensacola on Saturday. In his first 3 August starts, he is 1-0 with a 2.04 ERA.
HOUSER AND HADER IMPRESS IN DOUBLEHEADER SPLIT: The Shuckers settled for a doublheader split on Thursday in Jackson, taking the first game,
5-1 over the Generals , but dropping the nightcap, 4-0.
Starting pitchers Adrian Houser and Josh Hader combined for 10 innings, 16 strikeouts, 5 walks, 2 runs (1 earned) on 9 hits, but only Houser came away with a win.
The Shuckers used a pair of doubles from CF Brett Phillips (2x3, RBI, R) to
pace the offense, which scored a run in the first and 4 in the 4th inning on RBIs
from Phillips, 3B Nathan Orf (1x2, R, RBI), DH Taylor Green (1x3, RBI) and C
Parker Berberet (0x1, RBI, BB).
Houser allowed just a run on 7 H, BB, 6 SO, now 2-0 with a 2.86 ERA in 4 starts.
In game 2, the Shuckers were shutout for the 12th time this season and picked up just
2 hits in the first inning from SS Orlando Arcia (1x3, 2B) and 3B Nathan Orf (1x2, BB).
Starter Josh Hader set a season-high and matched a career-high with 10 strikeouts over 5 IP, UER, 4 BB and 99 pitches. Hader has allowed just an earned run
over his last 2 starts, 11 IP, adding 17 strikeouts, but is 0-2 in those games.
HEADING TOWARDS THE FINISH LINE: The Shuckers have just 17 games
remaining in the regular season, 10 at MGM Park...10 games remaining against
South Division opponents, Mobile (5g) and at Mississippi (5g).
HIP, HIP, JORGE! : RHP Jorge Lopez became the first Southern League
pitcher to record his 12th win in Mondays 3-1 win at Jackson. The Cayey, PR
native tossed 7 scoreless frames, allowing a hit, 4 walks and struck out 9. He
no-hit the Generals through the first 6.1 innings and improved to 12-5 on the year
with a 2.32 ERA (131.2 IP/34 ER) with 39 walks and 128 strikeouts. In 4 starts in
August, Lopez is 3-1 with a 0.93 ERA (29 IP/3 ER) with 11 walks and 30 strikeouts.
TOP GUN: OF Brett Maverick Phillips, also acquired in teh deal with
Houston on 7/30 currently ranks among the minor league leaders in runs (1st,
101), hits (4th, 153), extra-base hits (2nd, 64), total bases (2nd, 263) and
triples (T-1st, 14). Between Lancaster (66g), Corpus Christi (31g) and Biloxi
(17g), batting .313, 16 HR, 34 2B, 14 3B, 75 RBI, 43 BB, 17 SB and .379 OBP.
AMAZING ARCIA: Orlando Arcia notched his league-leading 41st multi-hit
game on Tuesday (2nd in SL) and ranks 8th in the SL in batting (.299), 2nd in
hits (133), 1st in 2B (34), 4th in XBH (44), 4th in TB (192), T-5th in runs (64).
Arcia has committed just 9 errors defensively this season in 107 games, 501
chances, logging 327 assists and a part of 65 double plays.
MAGNIFICENT MAGNIFICO: Sunday, Damien Magnifico recorded his 16th
save (16 of 18), 9th-straight and his 16 saves leads the Brewers farm system.

BILOXI BASEBALL HISTORY: Pro baseball is not totally new to the Gulf Coast, but it is the first since 1908. The
Gulfport-Biloxi Sand Crabs of the Cotton States League played half a season in Biloxi during the summer of 1908.
Many Major League and som Minor League teams held spring traing in the area. Even the 1920 Milwaukee Brewers
of the American Association (direct descendant of the current Brewers) trained in Gulfport. See below.

Todays Start: RHP Tyler Wagner makes his 22nd start of the 2015 season with the Biloxi Shuckers,
and 13th since coming back from the Milwaukee Brewers. The Shuckers are 13-8 in the right-handers
starts and the Las Vegas native has posted a team-high 15 quality starts.
Last Outing: Wagner did not earn a decision in a 2-1, Shuckers loss against the Pensacola Blue
Wahoos on August 15. The 24-year-old tossed seven shutout innings, while giving up six hits, walking two
and striking out four.
vs. Jackson: Friday will be Wagners third start of the season against the Generals. Wagner is 2-0
while holding Jackson to a .167 average in 13 innings. In his last start against the Generals on July 31,
Wagner tossed a one-hitter in game one of a doubleheader and did not record an out on a flyout (13
groundouts, five strikeouts).
2015: Wagner made his major-league debut on May 31 against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Pitched the first complete game in franchise history on 4/10 at PNS in a rain-shortened 6-inning contest.
Wagner allowed 1 unearned run on 5 hits and struck out 5, walking none in his first start of 2015.
Took a no-hitter through 5.1 innings on 5/2 vs. MOB in Huntsville and eventually settled for a no decision
allowing a run on 4 hits over 7.0 innings.
Wagner allowed just 1 run over 9 innings during minor league spring training with 5 strikeouts and 4
walks.

COACHING STAFF
Subero, 42, begins his second season in the Brewers organization as manager at the Double-A level. Subero led the Huntsville Managing Career
Team
Stars to a 77-63 record and a postseason berth last season.
GCL Rangers
Prior to joining the Brewers, Subero managed five seasons in
the Dodgers organization at Class-A Inland Empire (2009), Double-A Chattanooga (2010-12) and Class-A Rancho Cucamonga
(2013). He led the Lookouts to the playoffs in 2011 after clinching
the Southern Leagues second-half North Division title with a 4227 record after the All-Star break.
During his only season as a manager in the White Sox organization, Subero led Double-A
Birmingham to a 74-63 record and a Southern League playoff berth in 2008.
Subero began his coaching career in the Rangers organization, including two seasons as
hitting coach with the Rookie Gulf Coast League Rangers (1999-2000) and seven seasons
as manager with the GCL Rangers (2001-02), Class-A Clinton (2003-05) and Class-A Bakersfield (2006-07). His clubs reached the postseason in each of his three seasons with Clinton. Subero owns a 867-900 (.493) record over 13 seasons as a
minor-league manager.
