I did my summer internship with

Future supply chain, at two locations


Mumbai and NCR I was assigned the
project title E commerce logistics
Process development E commerce is
newly carved vertical of Future supply
chain inline with current trend of Ecommerce business.
In course of my internship I undertook
some major projects of company
which were:

Analyzing and streamlining


their current E- commerce
logistics process, warehouse
management, defining roles
and responsibilities of each
and every required position
at branch level (spoke in Hub
and Spoke model),defining
inward and outward
movement process and
standardizing them.
Setting up North zone
operation starting with three
location in first phase viz.
Mayapuri, Mundaka and
Okhala and then Gurgaon
and Noida in Phase II.
Objective was to cover whole
Delhi through these
branches. Activities involved
were vendor management,
Recruitment of branch
manager, Pickup associate
etc., Delhi and NCR region
distribution route planning.
Business development, as
the business was just started
off from Delhi, client base
was at utmost priority.

To attain above objective, the


following task have to be
accomplished:

the observation and analyzing
current process. And a thorough
study has to be done how IT

executed with no scope of error.
Identification of inefficient
process in current process.
At Delhi, various routes study
has to be done so as to pick up
and deliver shipment without
any delay and minimizing the
overall cost.
Identification and negotiation
with recruitment partner and
transport vendor which was
very crucial to the business, as
cost was one of the major
criterion to shortlist them.
Compiling list of potential
customer in the region and
converting them by
approaching them through
proper channel.

I learnt various component requires


significant improvement. One of the
most significant was, modification in
weighing and measuring equipment
design which reduced inward
movement time by almost 75 percent
and the cost of the design was mere
INR 800, Vis a Vis electronic
equipment for same function, which
cost more than INR 90000.the design
was implemented in more than 10
branches in Delhi and Mumbai.
Other improvement was layout design
modification of warehouse at Mumbai
warehouse, as earlier shipment lost
and delay cases were high due
improper, inward and outward
shipment movement layout design, by
the proposed design there was no
scope of shipment missing as there
were different entry and exit passage
and stacking of shipment was done
instead of shipment lying on ground.
Internship at FSC gave me an ample
opportunity to relate the theory and
practical aspects of business. I got
insight of starting a business from a
scratch. Starting from, choosing a

location for warehouse to recruitment,


vendor negotiation and business
development. Overall, it was a good
learning experience. I was great
opportunity to work in an industry ECommerce Logistics which has got

great importance in this era, when


logistics is evolving and has got
integrated with customers routine
process.
