Purpose
Use this procedure to display an existing class.
Trigger
Perform this procedure when you need to display an existing class.
Prerequisites
The class must exist in the system.
Menu Path
Use the following menu path(s) to begin this transaction:

Select Logistics
Central Functions
Batch Management
Batch Determination
Selection and Sort
Selection Class
Display to go to the Display Class: screen.

Description
Top-level unit of control for classes. Each class must be
assigned to exactly one class type. The class type is used to
define a number of parameters in the Classification System.
Specifically, class type is used to form logical grouping of
characteristics, such as characteristics for batch or
configurable materials.

This string is used to group together related classes.

Valid from

Beginning date when specifying a range of dates.


Example:

Valid to

Ending date when specifying a range of dates.

12/31/9999

Characteristic

In QM and MM it is a quantifiable attribute of a material.


Examples of characteristics include color, odor, and texture.
In reporting it represents an underlying SAP data value such
as company code, cost center, country, customer, material.

Data types describe the technical attributes of data objects.

Number of characters.

Decimal places

Indicates the number of decimal places to show in the data.

Unit

Unit by which quantities are to be measured. Some examples


include pound, gram, meter, and liter.
