PASSAGES FROM AL-QURAN

AAZAB E QABR:

40-46 Al-Ghafir

So Allâh saved him from the evils that they plotted (against him), while an

evil torment encompassed Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people. (45) The Fire; they

are exposed to it, morning and afternoon, and on the Day when the Hour

will be established (it will be said to the angels): "Cause Fir'aun's

(Pharaoh) people to enter the severest torment!" (46) And, when they will

dispute in the Fire, the weak will say to those who were arrogant;"Verily!

We followed you, can you then take from us some portion of the Fire?"

(47)

It is not lawful for you (to marry other) women after this, nor to change them for other wives even
though their beauty attracts you, except those (captives or slaves) whom your right hand possesses.
And Allâh is Ever a Watcher over all things (33:52)

“Invite (all) to the way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways
that are best and most gracious.”
(Al-Qur'an 16:125)

But irrespective whether the Muslims do the job or not, Allah has promised to make his Deen (Al-
Islam) prevail over all other ways of life and all other ‘isms’. Allah says in the Qur'an:
“It is He who has sent His Messenger with Guidance and the Religion of Truth to proclaim it over all
religion: and enough is Allah for a Witness.”
(Al-Qur'an 48:28)

A similar message is mentioned in Al-Qur'an 9:33 & 61:9.

It should be borne in mind that Allah is not in need of us Muslims in order to make his Deen prevail.
He, however, has given us an opportunity to do a prophet’s job and to earn a prophet’s reward.

The slack among the Muslims is due to their inability to perceive the benefits of reading the Qur'an
with understanding. It is through reading the Qur'an with understanding and meaning will we know
what our Lord and Creator expects from us in order that we prosper in this life as well as in the
Hereafter. Allah says in the Qur'an:

‘Who is better in speech than one who calls (men) to Allah, works righteousness and says, "I am of
those who bow in Islam"?’

“Worship none but Allah; treat with kindness your parents and kindred and orphans and those in
need; speak fair to the people; be steadfast in prayer; and practice regular charity.” (Al-Qur'an 2:83)

The Prophet (pbuh) is also reported to have said: "I, and the one who looks after an orphan, will be
like this in Paradise," showing his middle and index fingers and separating them. (Sahih Bukhari, Vol.
7, Hadith No. 224)

The Qur'an says:

“O you who believe! If a wicked person comes to you with any news ascertain the truth lest you harm
people unwittingly and afterwards become full of repentance for what you have done.” (Al-Qur'an
49:6)

“ … If anyone slew a person unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land it would be
as if he slew the whole humanity: and if anyone saved a life it would be as if he saved the life of the
whole humanity.” (Al-Qur'an 5:32)

Killing any innocent human being, whether Muslim or non-Muslim is not allowed in Islam. Even in the
circumstances of war, this aspect is not to be ignored. The first caliph of Islam, Abu Bakr As-Siddique
(R) is reported to have commanded Usama ibne Zaid (R):

“I command you to do ten things: you must not kill a woman or a child, or an elderly person; do not cut
down trees, or vandalize homes, or wound a sheep or camel except if you must eat it; do not drown a
palm tree, or burn it, do not be treacherous; do not be cowardly; and you will pass by people who
have devoted themselves to monastery life: leave them alone with their devotions.” (Tarikh At-Tabari,
V.3, p.210)

Thus killing children or innocent people are not allowed in Islam. And Allah knows the best.

[16:36]

And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming):
"Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities, etc. i.e. do not
worship Taghut besides Allah)." Then of them were some whom Allah guided and of them were
some upon whom the straying was justified. So travel through the land and see what was the end
of those who denied (the truth).

[7:146]

Those who behave arrogantly on the earth in defiance of right - them will I turn away from My
signs: Even if they see all the signs, they will not believe in them; and if they see the way of right
conduct, they will not adopt it as the way; but if they see the way of error, that is the way they
will adopt. For they have rejected our signs, and failed to take warning from them.

[6:31]

They indeed are losers who denied their Meeting with Allah, until all of a sudden, the Hour (signs
of death) is on them, and they say: "Alas for us that we gave no thought to it," while they will
bear their burdens on their backs; and evil indeed are the burdens that they will bear!

[4:48]

Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives
except that (anything else) to whom He pleases, and whoever sets up partners with Allah in
worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin.

[2:6]

As to those who reject Faith, it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them;
they will not believe.
[2:7]

Allah hath set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes is a veil; great is the
penalty they (incur).

[9:100]
And the first to embrace Islâm of the Muhâjirûn (those who migrated from
Makkah to Al-Madinah) and the Ansâr (the citizens of Al-Madinah who helped
and gave aid to the Muhâjirûn) and also those who followed them exactly (in
Faith). Allâh is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him. He
has prepared for them Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), to dwell
therein forever. That is the supreme success.

[3:103] And hold fast, all of you together, to the rope of Allah, and do not separate.

[3:103] And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allâh (i.e. this Qur'ân), and
be not divided among yourselves.

[51:56]

And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone).

[10:12]

And when harm touches man, he invokes Us, lying down on his side, or sitting or standing.
But when We have removed his harm from him, he passes on his way as if he had never
invoked Us for a harm that touched him! Thus it seems fair to the Musrifunthat which they
used to do.

[75:36]

Does man think that he is to be left to wander without an aim?

[38:27]

Not without purpose did We create heaven and earth and all between! that were the thought of
Unbelievers! but woe to the Unbelievers because of the Fire (of Hell)!

[78:6]

Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse,

[78:7]

And the mountains as pegs?

[30:48]

Allah is He Who sends the winds, so they raise clouds, and spread them along the sky as He wills,
and then break them into fragments, until you see rain drops come forth from their midst! Then
when He has made them fall on whom of His slaves as He will, lo! they rejoice!

[24:45]

Allah has created every moving (living) creature from water. Of them there are some that creep
on their bellies, some that walk on two legs, and some that walk on four. Allah creates what He
wills. Verily! Allah is Able to do all things.
[30:8]

Do they not think deeply (in their ownselves) about themselves (how Allah created them from
nothing, and similarly He will resurrect them)? Allah has created not the heavens and the earth,
and all that is between them, except with truth and for an appointed term. And indeed many of
mankind deny the Meeting with their Lord.

[30:22]

And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the difference of your
languages and colours. Verily, in that are indeed signs for men of sound knowledge.

[30:23]

And among His Signs is the sleep that you take by night and by day, and your seeking of His
Bounty. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who listen

[71:13]

"'What is the matter with you, that ye place not your hope for kindness and long-suffering in
Allah,-

[71:14]

"'Seeing that it is He that has created you in diverse stages?

[23:13-14] Thereafter We made him (the offspring of Adam) as a Nutfah (mixed drops of
the male and female sexual discharge and lodged it) in a safe lodging (womb of the
woman). (13) Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood),
then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of
flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as
another creation. So Blessed is Allâh, the Best of creators.[14]

[17:44]

The seven heavens and the earth and all that is therein, glorify Him and there is not a thing but
glorifies His Praise. But you understand not their glorification. Truly, He is Ever Forbearing, Oft-
Forgiving.

[2:6]

As to those who reject Faith, it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them;
they will not believe.

[2:7]

Allah hath set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes is a veil; great is the
penalty they (incur).

[8:22]

For the worst of beasts in the sight of Allah are the deaf and the dumb,- those who understand
not.

[20:110]

He (Allah) knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to
them (in the Hereafter), and they will never compass anything of His Knowledge.

[39:53]
Say: "O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah:
for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

[17:13]

Every man's fate We have fastened on his own neck: On the Day of Judgment We shall bring out
for him a scroll, which he will see spread open.

[17:14]

(It will be said to him:) "Read thine (own) record: Sufficient is thy soul this day to make out an
account against thee."

[4:48]

Allah forgiveth not that partners should be set up with Him; but He forgiveth anything else, to
whom He pleaseth; to set up partners with Allah is to devise a sin Most heinous indeed.

[6:29]

And they said: "There is no (other life) but our (present) life of this world, and never shall we be
resurrected (on the Day of Resurrection)."

[3:85]

And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the
Hereafter he will be one of the losers.

[17:49]

They say: "What! when we are reduced to bones and dust, should we really be raised up (to be) a
new creation?"

[6:31]

They indeed are losers who denied their Meeting with Allah, until all of a sudden, the Hour (signs
of death) is on them, and they say: "Alas for us that we gave no thought to it," while they will
bear their burdens on their backs; and evil indeed are the burdens that they will bear!

[41:53]

We will show them Our Signs in the universe, and in their ownselves, until it becomes manifest to
them that this (the Quran) is the truth. Is it not sufficient in regard to your Lord that He is a
Witness over all things?

[41:54]

Verily! They are in doubt concerning the Meeting with their Lord? (i.e. Resurrection after their
deaths, and their return to their Lord). Verily! He it is Who is surrounding all things!

[7:146]

I shall turn away from My Ayat (verses of the Quran) those who behave arrogantly on the earth,
without a right, and (even) if they see all the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs,
revelations, etc.), they will not believe in them. And if they see the way of righteousness
(monotheism, piety, and good deeds), they will not adopt it as the Way, but if they see the way of
error (polytheism, crimes and evil deeds), they will adopt that way, that is because they have
rejected Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and were heedless
(to learn a lesson) from them.

[3:177]

Verily, those who purchase disbelief at the price of Faith, not the least harm will they do to Allah.
For them, there is a painful torment.
