VACANCY ANNOUCEMENT

Presentation
EMDH is a French INGO, active in France and ten countries overseas in providing child development and
child protection services to the most vulnerable children.
In Myanmar, EMDH specifically targets children living in institutions, and in need of special care
(orphaned/abandoned children, street children, children in conflict with the law…).

The EMDH project aims at improving care and protection mechanisms for these children, and plans to work
in four states and divisions in the country.
Main activities will include: life skills and non formal education through creative and recreational activities,
training of caregivers, participative design of care plans and life plans for the children, in view of their
reintegration to society/reunification with family.

EMDH is thus looking for a dedicated individual, with the knowledge and skills to fill the position of:

Position: Human Resources Administrative Assistant


Reporting to: will work under the direct supervision of the Country Administrator
Place of work:
work: Yangon (with punctual travels to the field if required)
Work period:
period part-time (4 days out of 5) and short term contract with possibility to extend (depending on the
availability of funds)
Closing date: 12th March
March 2010

Main duties:

Human resources:
- Participating to the recruitment process of national staff Assisting the country administrator in
producing & delivering national staff contractual documents
- Maintaining & monitoring all accurate staff records
- Liaising with other persons responsible for HR management in the other EMDH offices
- Preparing & maintaining payroll and documents linked to the payroll
- Preparing and following up the administrative documents and procedures for the expatriate staff
liaising with the relevant departments (DSW, Immigration Office, etc)
- In collaboration with the country administrator, participating in the implementation and possible
review of EMDH HR policy, rules and regulations, and upon request of the country administrator,
liaise with other team members (Project Managers, Team Leaders, and other persons responsible for
HR management in other offices)
- Upon request of the country administrator, liaising with HQ in matters concerning national or
expatriate HR.

Administration
- Maintaining up to date and organizing administrative files & records ;
- Preparing the administrative documents needed by the mission ;
- Following up the administrative management of all types of contracts (office, insurance, etc)
- Assisting the administrator in creating all necessary administrative tools and documents ;
- Providing clerical work as required (word processing, translating, scanning, photocopying, etc.);

Requirements:
- Degree in business administration or related field, or at least two years professional experience in
similar position (preferably with an INGO)
- Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, E-mail, Internet, …)
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
- Experience in dealing with high level government office is an asset
- Ability to work under pressure and manage work with priority
- Strong organizational skills, willingness to take initiative, honesty and flexibility
- Ability to work in an international and multi-cultural environment
