Due to the access route on site, pile installation method have been separated into two which :
a)

Sea Piling (High Tide)

b)

Land Piling ( Low Tide)

Working Plan also been arranged based on the two condition :

a)

Working Hour Average 6 hours per day depend on the tide

C
A : After delivered to site, all piles been properly stacked at this area.
B : Then, the required pile being lifted to the small barge using mobile crane
C : Small barge transported all the piles to the piling barge and stacked properly.
Note: All this lifting procedure can only be done during high tide for small barge to access at the
sea shore.

2) Surveyor Setting Out
Surveyor shall locate all lines, level, coordinates and set out position of each pile as per
approved drawing
Triangulation Method for three base stations and reduced level is used to guide the piling
barge to its required position
The piles will be checked for verticality by using spirit level at two points perpendicular to
each other.

Barge was equipped with four stockless 5 ton anchor and three winches
Tug boat will drive the barge in desired location for piling and then
number1,2,3,4 anchor been dropped into the sea using barge crawler crane.
Then using anchor winches, the crewmembers will set anchor number 1 & 2.
Anchor number 3 & 4 will be adjusted to the required position under surveyor
instruction and then winches brakes are set.

1.

Pile Lifting

Piles were lifted from its stacked position utilizing

its two designated lifting points and canvass

2.

The toe end of the starter piles being planted to

its exact position manually by suspending the pile
form its driven end.

3.

When the toe position is fixed the required pile

inclination of pile then being adjusted to the
required angle while the guide rails and required
back support are firmly secured.

4.Pile Driving
Land Pile Driving

1. Land piling being introduced for the area that cannot access by Piling barge as per zoning plan before.
2. This method only applicable during low water tide to accommodate the piling rig to the required position
3. The piling rig being supported by steel plate to avoid any uneven settlement during piling process which
can cause disposition of the required location and also provide access route for the Piling rig.
4. Method for Land pile driving being used is hydraulic hammer and using the same PFA Spun pile.

6. Pile Jointing and Splicing

1. Pile being driven continuously and jointed with extension pile to get set.
2. Pile jointing and splicing for extension being done using Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) to weld all
splicing joints in accordance with manufacturer specifications as per Table 4.1 below.

7. Pile Cut Off

1. When a pile has been driven to the required set of depth and after load test has been carried out, the he
ad of the pile shall be cut off to the level specified in the drawings. The length of the reinforcing bars
projecting above this level as specified in the Drawings (Fig 5.1).
2. A diamond blade cutter with an air compressor being used to cut the line of the required marking level.
3. Remnants of the cut section would be removed by crane onto the barge for subsequent disposal off the
site.
