INTRODUCTION
1.1
People nowadays are having a hard time going to work because of the time it takes for a
person to queue and transact at a ticketing booth, checkout counter and other public
transportation. Human traffic and Human error are some of the causes of this scenario.
Lessening the transactions may be easier in such setting, less time consumption and as
well to be able save time. To reduce the time that people consume, the people should be
able to use a device or card that can store electronic money and the people may be able to
use that electronic money at train stations, supermarkets, and public transportation. It is
really important to have an "all around" card that can be used for different transactions.
1.2
Tickets used nowadays at train stations are Magnetic Tickets. In 1969 Forrest Parry, an
engineer at IBM had an idea of securing a piece of magnetic tape, the predominant
storage medium at the time, to a plastic card base. A magnetic stripe card is a type of
card capable of storing data by modifying the magnetism of tiny iron-based magnetic
particles on a band of magnetic material on a card. The magnetic stripe is commonly used
in credit cards, identity cards, and transportation tickets. They may also contain RFID
tags, a transponder device and/or a microchip mostly used for business premises. Another
way to pay is via credit card. A credit card is a payment card issued to users as a system
of payment. It allows the cardholder to pay for goods and services based on the holder's
promise to pay for them. A credit card is different from a charge card; a charge card

requires that balance to be paid in full each month. A credit card also differs from cash
card, which can be used like currency by the owner of the card. A credit card differs from
a charge card also in that a credit card typically involves a third-party entity that pays the
seller and is
the buyer until a later date. In 2012 Jollibee Corporation launched its Happy plus Card, a
card that is based on Near Field Communication that offers electronic payment system for
its consumers.

Project Rationale
This project is intended to hasten and ensure hassle less transactions at public
transportations, supermarkets and retail stores. By using a "PERAM" card it
offers
payment versatilities. The proposed project will be a great help in everyday lives because
it will lessen time consumption. Also, the proposed project offers another variation in
the payment system that is currently being used in the country.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
2.1
Problem Statement
According to our research, one of the common causes of being late for a
specific operation in the Philippines is the long queues at transaction counters in any
supermarkets, public transportation vehicles, and train stations. Therefore longer
transactions causes delay in different operations.

2.2
Specific Objectives
To design a Kiosk machine that can reload funds and dispense cards that
includes bill sensor, card reader, LCD, bill dispenser, coin dispenser and
keypad.
to design a device for checkout counters for checking current balance
The PERAM card is a Near Field Communication card that gets information from the
database. This card will offer fast and reliable transactions.
Checkout Reader
This device reads the PERAM card. The device is connected to the database of the bank.
Public transportations such as UV express and taxi's card reader is connected through
wireless connection while card readers in the supermarkets, fast foods, and train stations
are computer dependent, Upon usage of the PERAM card in the reader, the reader will be
able to deduct the total cost of services or products bought from the total balance of the
card in
the database. The card can be recognized by the reader through its unique
identification code.
Database
The database is where the records of the cards are stored; the cards are recognized via its
unique identification. This will serve as our dummy bank.
Limitations:
o The range of the reader will be approximately 20cm.
o The Kiosk should be plugged in to a wall outlet for the project to
function.
o The Near field Communication Device power that reads the cards at
restaurants, fast foods, and supermarkets are dependent to computer,
while the reader at taxi's and UV express will be connected to the
auxiliary port.
o The PERAM card is only applicable for convenient stores, fast food,
and public transportation such as UV express, taxi and train stations.

Methodology
In developing this proposal, the proponents did research in various ways. The proponents
researched using the internet, in the internet the proponents found information about the
hardware modules, software and the current technologies that are used in transactions in
the Philippines. The proponents personal experiences are also considered because the
proponents are also commuters, who share the same experiences as any people would
experience while commuting.
