grounded parts to conform to the Standard.
12.

Check liquid in the tank, conservator and bushing for proper level.

13.

Bleed trapped air in the bushing turrets and tank top.

14.

Check that the valves between the tank and the radiators are open.

15.

Performs all of the manufacturers specific checks.

16.
Check HV, LV and TV (if applicable) bushings for damages and
completeness of accessories.
17.
Check condition (color and quantity) of Silica gel in breathers and oil
in bath level.
ELECTRICAL TESTS
1. Core insulation resistance:
2. Winding insulation resistance and polarization index at 5 KV dc:
Connect the test circuit as per FIGURE 1-a or 1-b as applicable.
Measure insulation resistance between each winding and ground and
between the windings.
Take readings at 30 seconds , 1,5 and 10 minutes then calculate the
Polarization Index as per the following formula :
PI = R 10 min / R 1 min
3. Turns ratio (all taps) :
Connect the test circuit as per FIGURE 2.
Measure turns ratio at all taps.
Compare the measured ratio with calculated
tolerance.

ratio and check the

4. Polarity and vector relationship test:

Connect the test circuit as per FIGURE 3.
Apply 3 ph., 380 V AC and take the required measurements shown in
the test report.
Check the voltage relations required for correct polarity as shown in the
test report.

5. Winding resistance measurement (at max., min. And nominal tap):
Connect the test circuit as per FIGURE 4-a or 4-b as applicable.
Measure the winding resistance for both HV and LV windings at
Maximum, Nominal and Minimum taps as applicable.

6. Insulation power factor and bushing tests:

Connect the test circuit as per FIGURE 5-a, 5-b as applicable.
Refer to CPC-100 test set instruction manuals for detailed procedure for
both windings and bushings.
7. Winding excitation current test.
Connect the test circuit as per FIGURE 6-a, 6-b as applicable if you
are using three wattmeter method , other wise refer to CPC-100 test
set instruction manuals for detailed procedure.
8. Calibrate all temperature gauges (OR confirm calibration certificates).
Connect the test circuit as per FIGURE 7.
Calibrate Oil and Winding temperature gauges and check contact
operation and function.
9. Perform adjustments and
manufacturers instructions.
