WinterFest
I wanted to take a moment to thank the Franklin PTA, our parents and all of the students for coming to
WinterFest last Saturday and supporting Franklin School. It was a great time!
I wanted to especially thank Leah Zamora, our PTA President for chairing the committee and Aggie
Malin for all of her hard work, since October, gathering donations and prizes for the raffles. A special
thank you to Linda Peterson and Nancy Torres for heading up the silent auction baskets and Sylvia Sagat
for coordinating the teacher lunch raffle. It couldn’t have been done without the help of the countless
parent volunteers setting up and breaking down, helping in the kitchen and supervising the many events
and activities. Your time and dedication were paramount to making this event a success!

December 2009
As we have for many years, Park Ridge District 64 will participate in the Annual Park Ridge
Young Authors Conference.
The Illinois Young Authors conference is a celebration of the written work of children in
kindergarten through eighth grade. The purpose of the conference is to support classroom
teachers in their efforts to encourage and improve students’ abilities in writing, reading,
listening, and sharing, and to recognize the accomplishments of young authors. All children in
kindergarten through eighth grade, including those in special programs, are encouraged
to participate.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your Young Authors Building
Coordinator.
Sincerely,
