Do you have a Facebook?

Why is it that over 100 000 new users sign-up in facebook everyday? Is facebook a prelude to a revolutionary era of social oper-
ating systems? What are the differences between the already existing social networking websites? What are the new features that
facebook brings? What are the constraints?

I don’t know whether you’ve notice it but wherever you

go, everybody is talking about facebook ;on TV, on the
Radio, in the newspapers and so on. It is very fashion-
able these days, definitely the site of the hour, of the
year, and even the site of your life! …without any
doubts, it’s “very cool” to have his own profile on face-
book!

“A revolution” some say, “a second life” others argue,

everyone seems to have a word on it! Founded in Febru-
ary 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook was originally
designed as a private network for the students of Har-
vard University and other American Universities. But it
soon grew wider and five years later, facebook man-

TOP 10 of the most useful Web Tech innovations ever

Here is the top ten of the most profound Web tech innovations that have Real-time status update platforms like Twitter and Facebook allow users to
changed our lives for the better: exchange ideas and media almost instantly.

Web Browsers The Peer-to-Peer

Peer-to-Peer (P2P) technology is a distributed network architecture that allows

data to be spread from computer to computer without a central node.
Such as Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera…without them
the web experience would be gray & boring. AJAX

Search Engines

AJAX, which stands for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML, is a set of Web
development technologies that allow Web applications (Web sites) to poll the
server for new information without reloading the page.

Of course, being able to see and interact with Web pages is only useful if you Software as a Service
can find them. That’s where search engines come in!

VoIP

The general idea behind SaaS is that software is provided on demand over the
Web and data is stored in networked servers

E-Commerce
Voice over Internet Protocol, or VoIP, is a technology for transmitting voice
communications over IP networks like the Internet.

RSS

Electronic commerce, or e-commerce, has indeed changed how we buy things.

329 Billion $/year worth of products are spent on retail

The Wi-Fi

content on the Web. Essentially, RSS is a technology that saves Web sites &
keeps them updated.

Social networking websites:

Thanks to Wi-Fi, though, even though your modem still needs to be connected
via wires, your computer doesn’t. Wireless Internet access makes laptops and
other Web-connected devices infinitely more useful because they can be used
from anywhere within range of the wireless access point.

Aidkoum saadane

Aid El Ad’ha this year was very special since it coincided with the rebirth of football in Algeria : the qualification of the Algerian football
team to the world cup finals after more than 28 years of absence!

The way Algerians celebrate Aid El Ad’ha has a special

and unique taste, I mean when you are walking down the
street all you see is kids running after their sheep and all
you hear is parents complaining about their prices, not to
mention those crazy fights organized in every neighbor-
hood in the purpose of finding the strongest sheep (which is
usually the most expensive one).

But this year was an exception ; another feast shad-
