Project Synopsis
Title
Is there still a space for new mobile players in the smartphone market? The
Micromax story

Objectives
Indian handsets manufacturers have slowly started to make a dent into the
market share of multinationals in the domestic market.
Logistics and supply chain form a very important part of any E-commerce firms
operations. As the focus shifts towards customer satisfaction and operational
excellence, it becomes imperative for the various e-commerce companies to
optimize their logistics in order to remain competitive. The objective of this study
is to understand the logistics issues faced by e-commerce companies and to find
out possible ways to overcome these issues.

Methodology
This study will be mainly based on secondary research. The main steps in
conducting this study are as follows:
1. The first step would be to develop basic concepts to understand mobile
industry in India.
2. Secondly, will conduct a study of coordination mechanism how logistics
systems are influenced by e-commerce companies and how these systems
affect the operations of these companies.
3. Next, the focus will be on recognizing the strengths and shortcomings of
logistics in developing e-commerce
4. A detailed analysis of marketing strategies used by Micromax to become
big in India Market.
5. Lastly, a comparison of India with global scenario will be performed to
understand the similarities and differences in industry landscape. Itll help
us understand the logistics issues relevant to Indian scenario. The focus
will also be on issues which are unique to India and how they can be
tackled by taking leads from international practices.
