Training Objective
The trainee will be able to identify and describe the air operator's corporate structure and the
administrative requirements of the operation relating to crew members.

1.1A.1 Outline the corporate history.
(Use of guest speakers from various departments would enhance the presentation.)
1.1A.2 Define the corporate mission statement and goals.
1.1A.3 Describe the organizational structure with emphasis on reporting authority. Clearly
show the organizational link between pilots (Flight Operations) and flight attendants.
(Corporate visual aids and tours of facilities, where possible.)
1.1A.4 Identify the type and scope of the operator's operations, e.g., regional, international,
charter, commuter, etc.
1.1A.5 Describe the corporate alliances and their impact on the operation.
1.1A.6 Describe the air operator's fleet and route structure.
1.1A.7 Identify the location of facilities and bases and the operational tasking carried out at
each (e.g. maintenance base).
1.1A.8 Outline the operators' future plans.
1.1B Flight Attendant Specific
1.1B.1 Describe the administrative requirements relating to flight attendants (e.g.
assignments, duties, documentation).
1.1B.2 Describe any crew member union/contractual obligations.

1.1B.3 Identify the operator's policies and procedures relating to flight attendants (e.g.
discipline, expectations).

This training is required upon employment for all persons assigned to an operational control
function including base managers, pilots and persons responsible for flight watch or flight
following. The program shall ensure that persons involved in control of flight operations are
aware of their responsibilities, know company reporting relationships and are competent to
fulfill their assigned duties related to flight operations.

Review of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (and airline standards where applicable)
Air Operator Certificate and operating conditions

Fuelling procedures including procedures for fuelling with passengers on board and fuel
contamination precautions
9. Critical surface contamination and safety awareness program
10. Passenger safety briefings and safe movement of passengers to/from the aeroplane

procedures (Technical Dispatch) and accident/incident reporting procedures

Payroll package - 1st and 15th are pay days, no automatic deposit unless otherwise
authorized
Flying History Form to be completed in February and August each year
Expense Reports Paid out on the 15th of each month. Must be submitted to the
Flight Ops Admin Assistant no later than the 2nd of each month to be paid on the 15th.
Discussion what cannot be expensed and maximum daily amounts for expenses.
There are no perdiems.
Reporting for Duty and Uniform Standards (baseball caps must be Transwest Air
baseball caps only for non-sched operations)
Requirement to bring an overnight bag
Schedule when reserve/on-call starts, night medevac coverage times
Vacation Requests must be submitted to the Chief Pilot by the 1st of the month prior
to the month of request
Monthly Days worked over 20/22 (for Saskatoon salaried pilots only)
Communication communication is conducted via interoffice mail, email, and
Directives. Pilots are required to check their emails on a regular basis for schedules,
schedule changes and other pertinent information.

West Jet pass privileges must work at Transwest Air for 6 months before being
eligible to utilize pass privileges. No commuting see attached policies and
procedures.
Dangerous Goods Pilot Notification
Training and Test Flights use call sign Transwest Trainer 1
Transwest Air policy regarding company travel check-in for flight early, be
appropriately dressed, be respectful to other Transwest Air staff, enplane/deplane
last after paying customers.
Any Transwest Air employee found stealing or vandalizing Transwest Air property
will have their employment terminated effective immediately.
