High School Grand Arts Camp

High school students entering grades 9-12 can join in for the 3rd summer of an
exciting partnership between Craft Alliance Center of Art + Design and Saint
Louis University Art Department.
Students will spend two weeks immersed in the art world through the Grand Arts
Camp. This urban-themed visual arts camp gives students the opportunity to
work in the studios of both Craft Alliance Center of Art + Design in Grand Center
and Saint Louis University, in six different mediums.
Week 1: In the Craft Alliance Studios for: Clay, Fiber, and Metal
Week 2: In the studios at St. Louis University for: Drawing,
Painting, and Printmaking
The program culminates in an exhibition of the created works at the Saint Louis
University Museum of Art, and is enhanced by museum visits, an architectural
tour and exposure to the arts in the Grand Center Arts District. By experiencing the arts using all senses, students will be encouraged to create work in the
studios that develops their art-making skills and explores the overall urban arts
theme. Students will learn what it takes to prepare for a gallery showing while
having their best summer yet!
