Method of Procedure:

Stand Alone RTWP (Received Total

Wideband Power) Test
Objective
The objective of the stand alone RTWP test is to ensure that the Huawei BTS does
not contribute to the RTWP. The RTWP is measured two times-first with the BTS
terminated to the DAS and the second with the BTS isolated (stand alone) from the
DAS. Waveforms are captured and sent for approval. Also in this test, the jumpers
and connectors are inspected once more to verify their integrity. Terminations to
passive devices are ensured to be securely tightened accordingly.

Tools and Materials Required:

1. Dummy load/Terminator 50 ohms/50 watts with N-type female port 1 unit
2. Adjustable wrench big enough to handle 7/16 DIN connectors and N type
connectors
3. Laptop with LMT software with the latest version (SPC411)
4. Ethernet straight cable

Procedures:
1. After entering the site, contact NOC to notify them of the upcoming test and
inform them of the impact and outage time.
2. Perform visual mechanical inspection of the all the terminations.
a. Ensure the DIN connectors are securely terminated on the MRFU/WRFU
port.
b. Ensure the N connectors are securely terminated on the combiner,
splitter or any passive device used in the DAS.
c. Use the adjustable wrench to tightened the connectors to a suitable
torque (not too tight as this may damage the ports or not too loose to
make the connection unstable).
3. Perform the RTWP test with all the cables connected as is (pre-stand alone).
a. Start your laptop and connect one end of the Ethernet cable to your
laptop Ethernet port and the other end to the WMPT Eth0 port.
b. Configure IP address of your laptop as follows:
IP: 17.21.2.XX

SUBNET MASK: 255.0.0.0

Ping the node B (17.21.2.15) to ensure visibility of the node.

c. Start the LMT software and login accordingly:

user name: admin, password: NodeB

d. Click the maintenance window
e. Click BOARD RTWP CHART and key in the following values:
RACK: 3 SUBRACK: 4
SLOT: 0 for sector 1, 2 for sector 2 and 4 for sector 3.
Capture the waveform in each sector. Observe the RTWP waveform for
5 minutes each sector. Capture (print screen) the chart and save it on
an appropriate folder.
4. Perform the stand alone RTWP test (acceptable value is -106dbm)
a. Continuing from step 3, remove the jumper from any passive device it
is connected (combiner, splitter, MCM, etc) and terminate it with the
dummy load.
b. Perform steps 3b to 3d.
c. Do this for all sectors.
d. Save the waveforms similar to the embedded object.

5. Restore all connections and ensure they are securely tightened.

6. Call NOC to check if there is any alarm and confirm the site is carrying traffic
once more.
