QUINTOLUBRIC 88868

(FIRE RESISTANT HYDRAULIC FLUID TYPE HFDU-ISO VG-68)

Purpose
QUINTOLUBRIC 888-68 is a highly incombustible hydraulic fluid
of application: made from synthetic organic esters and an optimal package of additives.
QUINTOLUBRIC 888-68 does not contain water, phosphate esters or
chlorine carbon-conductors. It is comparable in quality to quality
hydraulic oils, but it is fire resistant. It assures a long life span in high
temperature systems, especially when fresh oil is added. The product can
be used in different branches of industry and the main users include:

Instructions
for use:

Steel industry
Coloured metal industry
Glass industry
Mining industry
Tunnel construction

QUINTOLUBRIC 888-68 is the used as it is in its original packaging.

Previous filtration is not necessary because the product is cleaned to a
low cleanliness class (NAS 1638). A high viscosity index and low pour
point (in comparison with mineral hydraulic oils) assure:
Operation at higher temperatures
Good properties when cold starting machines
Higher viscosity at increased temperatures

Advantages:

Good fire resistance properties

Bio-degradation, more than 90% bio-decomposition - test CEC L-33T-82.
Excellent lubrication properties.
Acknowledged at Factory Mutual as: a less dangerous hydraulic
fluid.
Cleanliness class (NAS 1638): tanker
max. 6
barrel
max. 7
Excellent shearing stability.
Good anti-oxidation resistance.
Compatibility with the sealant materials.
Low toxicity for people and the environment.
Energy saving due to the density in comparison with other HFD

fluids.
Compatibility Seals:
Standard materials like NBR (ISO 1629) are compatible, but there are
:
many producers on the market - therefore we recommend consulting the
seal producer or the Quaker laboratory. Excellent results are given by
FPM (ISO 1629), which is suitable for high temperatures.
Metals:
QUINTOLUBRIC 888-68 is compatible with steel and steel alloys, and
with most coloured metals and their alloys. QUINTOLUBRIC 888-68 is
not compatible with alloys that contain a lot of lead. Components
containing alloys with a lot of lead should be exchanged for more
suitable materials. For zinc see chapter: colours.
Remaining fluids:
QUINTOLUBRIC 888-68 is usually compatible with other HFDU fluids
and mineral oils, but we recommend performing a test program before
each change of fluid.
QUINTOLUBRIC 888-68 does not mix with water or water solutions; it
is compatible with QUINTOLUBRIC series 888, 840 and 850 fluids.
Colours:
Colour coatings inside hydraulic equipment usually are not necessary
since QUINTOLUBRIC 888-68 assures adequate corrosion protection.
QUINTOLUBRIC 888-68 is consistent with multi-component epoxy
coats. You should pay attention to compatibility when zinc coatings are
used, because they are not compatible in all cases. If inside the hydraulic
system coatings are required, we recommend consulting with the coat
producer or the Quaker laboratory.
To keep QUINTOLUBRIC 888-68 in a good condition it must be
Fluid
Maintenance: prevented from coming into contact with water and regularly filtered. It
is necessary to avoid high temperatures and to inspect the state of the oil
twice a year (the acidic value is an important indication of the products
condition).
Safety information, which is required for health and safety in the work
Safety:
environment are described in the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
The MSDS is enclosed in the first delivery and it is regularly renewed.
Storage:

The product can be stored min. 6 months under the following conditions:
Maximum long term storage temperature: 40 0C.
Minimum long term storage temperature: 0 0C.
Containers or barrels have to be tightly closed.
Containers or barrels have to be stored in dry and well ventilated space.

Quality
assurance:

Quaker Chemical assures that the delivered products are manufactured

within the production specifications. A Product Specification
Certificate and analysis results are available upon the customers
demand.
