A. Animals and birds go from one place to another in search of food. Wild animals obtain their food

A. Birds can be conserved by the following ways : 1. Spread grains on the porches and roof. 2. We
must fill water regularly in birdbaths. 3. We must treat wounded birds with love and affection.
7. What is the function of the veins in a leaf ?
A. The veins supply water brought by the stem and branches to all parts of the leaf. They also take
the food prepared by the leaf to the stem, which supplies food to other parts of the plant.
8. What are the adaptation of the trees in hilly areas ?
A. 1. Trees in hilly areas are tall and straight. 2. The branches often slope downwards for the snow to
fall off. 3. They have needle like leaves with a waxy coating to prevent loss of water and for the rain

9. Describe the adaptation in a lotus plant ?
A. 1. The roots of the lotus plant fix the plant in the mud. 2. Their stem are hollow and have air
space . 3. The leaves are broad and flat to catch maximum sunlight. 4. The leaves have a waxy
coating to repel water.
10. How is silk cloth made?
A. Silk fibres are made from an insect known as Silk moth. They lay eggs and it hatches into silk
worms. The silk worms spin a silky thread and wrap it around their bodies. It is known as cocoon.
The cocoon are put in hot water and it is unwind to thread and it is woven into silk cloth.
11. What are the difference between synthetic and natural fibres ?
A. 1. Synthetic fibres are stronger and more durable than natural fibres .
2. Synthetic fibres catch fire easily but natural fibres do not catch fire easily .
3. Synthetic fibres dry quickly do not shrink and need very little ironing but natural fibres take
time to dry, shrink and wrinkle easily.
4. Synthetic fibres cause rashes but natural fibres do not react with skin .
12. Name the different types of teeth and their function ?
A: 1 :- Incisors :- It help for cutting the food. 2 :-Canines :- It help to grip and tear the food . 3:Premolar and Molar :- It help to grind and chew the food .
13. What causes tooth decay ?
A: Germs living in the mouth feed on the left over food particles and gives out acid. This acid
damages the enamel, slowly produce a holes called cavity .
14. How should you take care of your teeth ?
A: Brush your teeth correctly and properly . 2. Rinse your mouth after every meal . 3 Do not eat
too much sticky foods , sweets , and soft drink. 4 .Eat food contains calcium and vitamin A, C, and
D .5. Visit the dentist at least once in six month.
15. What happens to the food in stomach ?
A: When the food enters the food enters the alimentary canal ,passes through the food pipe to
stomach . In stomach the food is churned and digestive juices are added ,it turns the food into semi
liquid mixture . The proteins are broken into simpler form .
