A spreadsheet contains information arranged in rows and columns. A spreadsheet
made on a computer is an electronic spreadsheet. The most widely-used
spreadsheet program is Microsoft Excel.
2. Define the following: Row, Column, and Cell.
Row: The horizontal gridlines in a spreadsheet
Column: The vertical gridlines in a spreadsheet
Cell: The intersection of each row and column is a cell.
3. What is the purpose of the Formula Bar?
The formula bar displays the active cell address on its left and the cell contents on
its right. Data entered in a cell is displayed in the formula Bar. Editing of the cell
contents is also performed from the Formula Bar.

4. How to enter data in the spreadsheet?


To enter data in a cell, the following steps should be followed.
i. Select the cell in which data has to be entered.
ii. Start typing (As you type, data appears in the formula bar.
iii. Press the enter key after entering the text.
