Objective: To offer a greater number of seating areas to

meet the need of current students based on survey


feedback.
Target Audience: Current students and visitors
Purpose: It is in Student Government Associations mission
to abide by the ideals of servant leadership, and in order
to that, we need to assure students that we are available to
tend to student need, something SGA has noticed that the
majority of the student body constantly overlooks. A goal for
the Marketing and Advertising Committee over the course of
the 2014-2015 school year is to establish a stronger social
media presence to raise awareness of the Student
Government presence on campus as well as its ability to
serve students. We have utilized both the SGA Twitter
account and the Student Life Facebook page throughout this
year thus far. However, at the completion of this semester,
the Marketing and Advertising Committee came up with the
unanimous conclusion that Instagram (over Twitter and
Facebook) is the most popular and engaging method to
capture the attention of current students. It was agreed
among the committee that while an average students
tweet may receive 5-10 favorites, an average students
Instagram may receive 50-100 likes. We believe that the
addition of a Student Government Instagram account would
both significantly strengthen SGAs social media presence
and its ability to serve students as well as increase school
spirit and unity.

Upkeep: Though SGA might receive material from all of the
different committees, all of the information to be posted
would be filtered though only those in the Marketing and
Advertising Committee. This committee meets once a week
and would make a new social media calendar of
scheduled, delegated posts.
Conclusion: There is no better way than an approved SGA
instagram, run by the Marketing and Advertising Committee,
to connect the students of Benedictine collegewhether they
may be athletes, artists, engineers, chemists, etc.with the
happenings of SGA, their clubs, and school events than by
using a platform the current students ubiquitously use and
observe the most.
