The Argus is the largest student newspaper in Northern Ontario

with a weekly circulation of over 2,500. Founded in 1966, The Argus
has covered issues important to students at Lakehead University and
in Thunder Bay for nearly half a century.

The Argus covers a diverse range of topics including news, arts

& culture, sports, and editorials and therefore The Argus pulls in a wide
range of readership. It is published on a weekly and bi-weekly basis
allowing for weeklong ad exposure as opposed to a one-shot daily ad
seen in the Chronicle Journal.
The print version of The Argus is read by an estimated 8,000
students, faculty, staff, and city residents per week. Additionally, The
Argus website is patronized by over 5,000 visitors per week.
The most recent Canadian Campus Market Research Study
found that over 80% of post-secondary students were likely to read
their student newspaper and that 44% of students will read their
student newspaper consistently, each and every week. The study also
revealed that 47% of readers would use discounts geared specifically
towards them.

Total prices are subject to
13% HST.
The ad submission
deadline is 6pm on the
Friday preceding an Argus
publish date.
The Argus is a subsidiary
of the Lakehead University
Student Union and
reserves the right to refuse
publication of any
advertisements that violate
LUSU policy.
