THE regards health and safety matters as a priority commitment

besides being an integral part of all its operations.THE maintains
high quality system and standards in its safety and health programs
consistent with the best practices in the construction industry there
by complying with customer safety codes.
We regards employees as our key resource.Their contribution to
achieving our business objective is vital.We intend to provide a safe
working environment that is without risk to health. It is our policy to
ensure that all health and safety system are dynamiv and under
continious improvement.
We accept our statutory responsibilities and ,where possible ,seek to
exceed them.we will ensure that anyone working at THE premises or
elsewhere at other site location is not exposed to risk.Every THE
employee is responsible to promote the safety and health process to
ensure a safe work environment at all times.
We will ensure that there is a suitable organisation structure for
planning, implementing,monitoring,reviewing and evaluating health
and safety activities.
We

will

provide

resources,sufficient

information,training

and

supervision to enable THE and its employees to meet their health

and safety responsibilities.
In order to implement this policy,the commitement of all employees
is necessary.As a condition of employement,all staff will be expected
to co- operate with THE to:

Follow the instructions set out in the safety procedures or notices

posted in premises and elsewhere.

Comply with codes of practice,work instructions and guidance which

may apply to their work or workplaces,legal &other requirement.

Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of
persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work.

With the said co-operation of all concerned,a safe and healthy work
environment couldbe maintened,preventing fatalities and lost time
injury

equipment,facilities and eliminating risk to environment and ,most

importantly,maintaining work progress schedule.
We will consult employees through elected representatives.All staff
will have on opportunity to raise issues with their local elected safety
representative who will take the matter forward to an appropriate
safety forum.
The policy will be reviewed and evaluated on an annual basis or
earlier where any significant legislative change take place,which will
culminate in the publication of an annual health and safety report.

Review all the project activities that are being carried out in safe
manner and in compliance with Saudi Arabia govt. law and client
regulations (or) instructions under this safety plan.

Responsible to give active support for the implementation of safety

execution plan as one of his prime responsibilities

Should be aware of any deviations from these requirements, he shall

instigate immediate corrective actions.

Participate as required in inspections and meeting related to safety

and loss prevention.

THE SITE SUPERINTENDENT

Responsible for the implementation of the safety execution plan

throughout all activities up to and including hand-over to client

He will qualify and equip himself to become the authorized

personnel certified to receive work permits from client.

Maintain an effective line of communication on safety matters with

client, THE senior management, safety engineer and line
management.

Organize the work activities such that potential risks are assessed
and minimized to ensure there are no accidents leading to personal
injury (or) damage to client property, the environment or loss of
project material and equipment.

Review and evaluate method of work, safety performance, accident

and near miss reports to determine areas of improvement.

Provide guidance and training in consultation and coordination with

safety engineer for all levels of the workforce including supervisors.

Develop a proper and cooperative attitude towards the promotion of

a safe working environment among the personnel under their
control.

Actively participate in the execution of emergency plans.

Set a personal example in safety, health and environment maters at

all times.
SAFTEY ENGINEER

The safety engineer is designated by the project manager to

manage all aspects of the safety, health and environmental
activities related to the project scope of work.

Coordinate the implementation of the safety execution plan.

Maintain an administrative system for the statistical recording of

safety performance and monitoring activities related to the safety
execution plan.

Maintain a close liaison with the project management team and

client loss preventive department.

Assess potential hazards associated with the completion of work

activities and recommend remedial measures.

Carry out regular safety inspections and audits of THE activities,

monitor the implementation of recommendations.

Communicate and promote safety and health through publications,

trainings and appropriate safety meetings to ensure employee
participation in safety matters.

Assess the requirements and ensure the provision and maintenance

of safety, fire fighting and protective equipment.

Develop and hold training sessions for all levels of THE employees
on safety matters with particular reference to client regulations and
instructions.

Act as project emergency coordinator.

Conducts investigations and prepare detailed reports on personal

injury, fires, property damage, M.V.As and near miss incidents.

Prepares and administers the project pollution contingency and

waste management plans.

Maintains the hazardous substances manual

Acts as advisor to the groups on client safety, health &

environmental requirements for any particular job activity

Sets a personal example on health, safety and environmental

matters.

Ensures that all the safety programs to be implemented on the

project are approved by client

Ensures that no short methods are adopted during the course of

execution in violation of client safety standards

Ensures the adequacy of safety materials at site and used properly.

Ensures that the right kind of work permit is obtained for the right
job and any deviation/violation should be corrected.

Make frequent checks on the personnel safety harnesses, their

quality and adequacy towards their requirement of the activity the
employee is involved.
Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation & QA/QC Engineers

Responsible for implementation and adherence of all safety and loss

prevention program and instruction issued by client

To chalk out detail plan of construction work in safe manner based

upon standard safe working practice issued by Client under Accident
Prevention and construction safety manuals and implement at field
level. To supervise and ensure the safety is practiced by their level
supervisors/foremen and subordinates.

To take immediate corrective steps in case of any deviation from

standard practice and unsafe acts and conditions created by their
subordinate.

To bring the matter to the notice of Site Superintendent and to

reflect in the regular safety/loss prevention meetings so that such
incidents can be avoided in future and other engineers well be made
aware of such incidents.

To help to organize situations in the event of any emergency arising

out of any accident/fire etc.

Attending training programs related to safety and loss prevention

and train subordinates to practice safety.

To adhere the safety procedures as instructed by safety engineer at

site in accordance with safety manuals

To cooperate with safety engineer to implement safety in good spirit

to achieve accident free working environment

To take active participation in safety meeting and safety campaign.

To help in preparing safety reports, periodical reports etc to Site

Superintendent.
SITE SUPERVISORS

They are responsible for ensuring the safety of all personnel directly
under their control at the individual work sites. They provide the key
element in any safety organization.

Co-ordinate and plan construction work in the safest manner

achievable based on safe working practices and with consideration
to the detailed working schedules.

Continuously monitor the work area to ensure that all operations are
being conducted in a safe manner.

Take immediate corrective action to rectify unsafe acts and

conditions.
