On-Board Payload Data

Processor(OPDP)
Modern satellite instruments have a growing demand for higher band
width, higher sensor resolu on, higher sensi vity, accuracy and much
more. This places an increasing demand on the OnBoard system to
performdata(pre)processingandgoeshandinhandwithanincreaseof

The OPDP standard external interfaces for data transfers are

SpaceWire (200 Mbps fullduplex) for mediumspeed datatransfers and
2x input and 2x output WizardLink (2 Gbps), for highspeed data

Typical OPDP applica ons involve instruments that generate large

(spectral) sensor data sets and employ Fourier Transform related data
processingtechniques.

Examples of such func ons are: FIR

filtering, convolu on, correla on
and interpola on of data. The FFTC
supports a variety of input and
output data formats. The FFTC is
implemented in Atmel ATC18RHA 0.18, CCGA package, and has
1.8V / 3.3V core/IO voltage, and a maximum power
consump onof2W.
