Way to go,

PJ
Schweizer!

From: Sara
Sent: Wednesday, August 26, 2015 10:56 AM
Subject: Thanks for a great trip and thanks, PJ!
For Sesame Place We wanted to write to thank you for another great experience.

Brayden & PJ (Avengers!)

Our family traveled from Northern Virginia to visit the park earlier this month (August 5-7) our second trip of the year (and fourth
since last year). The place continually amazes our 3-year-old son Brayden (and our now 6-month-old son Bryce).
We wanted to send a quick note to thank and commend PJ in particular. Brayden had enjoyed seeing him in shows last year. Then,
meeting and interacting with PJ close-up when he emceed our Dine with Me dinners this past June had been a highlight of Braydens
trip. Because PJ was such a fun part of Braydens experience, we called the Guest Correspondence Team to see if hed be emceeing
our August 5-7 dinner reservations (in case he was on vacation, we wanted to set expectations with our son!).
We learned PJs job had changed he was still working at Sesame Place, but now outside the park grounds (on events/guest bookings).
Still, upon learning of our Dine with Me reservations, PJ made a special trip to talk and dance with Brayden during our August 5 and 7
dinners. Our son could not have been more excited! His face lit up giving PJ a hug, talking to him about PAW Patrol and Avengers,
and learning the Cha-Cha Slide from PJ.
Throughout the park visit, Brayden chattered excitedly that his favorite parts of the trip were the teacups and PJ. And on the heels of
vacation, when we picked him up from preschool, his teachers (who pride themselves on Sesame Street knowledge), asked us, puzzled,
Whos PJ?! They said theyd asked Brayden who his favorite friend to see at Sesame Place was, and he insisted it was PJ J (Braydens
teachers: We know who Elmo is, who Abby is, who Oscar is is there a PJ?!)
We think PJ is such a great asset to the park and are so appreciative of this employee who went above-and-beyond his job
description to make our childs day and in the process, make the dining events even more interactive/energetic and fun.
Thanks so much, PJ! We hope you/Sesame Place will let us know if PAW Patrol ends up coming to the park and if its not too much
trouble, would hope to see if the trip we plan for next year (likely for late May/early June) would align with when youll be around, so
we could come by and Brayden can say hi to his hero!
Thanks again! A few pics attached from our trip of the boys with characters and PJ!
Best regards, Sara and Matt

Subject: Above and beyond
My family and I visited Sesame Place over the weekend and had a
wonderful time at the park. My children, ages 20 months and 6
years, had the best time. I am actually writing in regards to praise
one of your employees. While riding Cookie Monster's Flying
Cookie Jars on Saturday afternoon your employee; I believe his
name is Jalil, went above and beyond. There was a young boy who
was wheelchair bound and needed help both off and on the ride.
This young man literally lifted and carried the young boy on and off
this ride. He took his time to make sure that he and his family were
comfortable even though it took about 10 minutes each time. I just
felt that someone needed to be aware of your employees actions.
Never once did I see him sigh or roll his eyes. He had a smile on his
face and told them he hoped they had a great time. As a mother
it made me feel wonderful to see this type of behavior. So please
let Jalil know his actions did not go unnoticed and to keep up the
great work!

Subject: Employee recognition
Ruben Sovak!
from Mr. Hooper's Emporium
I have been coming to Sesame Place for the past 6 years now; I buy
the season passes for my Mom and my two boys to visit each year.
We always have a great time but this time an employee stood out
to not only me, but also my children. I took the boys into Mr.
Hooper's Emporium on August 26th to let them each pick out a
surprise before our 5 hour trip home to Massachusetts. An
employee, Ruben (I may have spelt his name wrong) made EVERY
single person that he came into contact with in that store feel
special! He was interactive with the children and extremely helpful
to the adults. He informed us about a story about to be read and
checked in the back for different shoe sizes for my son (which he
found and I was able to buy). My children both asked me who that
really nice guy was that was working at Sesame Place and asked if
he would be there when we came back in October; for a 6 and 2
year old to notice an awesome employee with everything else
going on around them is a big deal. He made them feel special
with small talk and showed interest in hearing about their trip. It's
special employees like him that make Sesame Place what it is. I just
wanted it to be known that he really had a great impact on our
shopping experience and we were able to find the correct sizes in
items that no one took the time out to help us find before. I have
never seen an employee going back and forth, helping so many
guests at the same time, all with a smile. I don't think in the time
that I spent in the store I saw him stop moving. Ruben is such an
asset to Sesame Place and we really hope to see him again in
October.

American Red Cross Blood Drive

th

The summer 2015 Blood Drive took place on Wednesday, June 24 in the Big Bird Training Room. Although we did not exceed our
Sesame Place internal goal of 100 donors, we MET the American Red Cross goal of 66 viable units collected at our drive. We had 73
donors present, and only 7 deferred.
One HR Team Member had this to say about giving blood, It takes about an hour of my time from start to finish. You answer some
crazy questions, feel two little pinches and you walk out knowing you saved 3 lives. Why wouldnt people give blood?
Thank you to everyone that shared the information with your team members! 13 of the 66 viable units were from Sesame Place team
members!
You have another chance to save lives Sesame Place Cares is hosting a Blood Drive on Sunday, October 11, 2015 from 9:00 AM 2:00
PM in the HR Building Big Bird Training Room.
You can sign-up online for a timeslot at www.redcross.org/blood. Search by the sponsor code sesameplace.
Team members are encouraged to donate; this event is also open to the public. The American Red Cross will send us an official donor
list with addresses following the completion of the event. Each donor will receive 1 complimentary Sesame Place ticket sent to their
home address.
