Matthew 5-7
The Beatitudes
2 And he opened his mouth and taught
them, saying:
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn, for
they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek, for they shall
inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger
and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be
satisfied.
7 Blessed are the merciful, for they
shall receive mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they shall see God.

Amber Stark working with
Life Impact in Slovakia

Government regulations have made it so that we have had to discontinue

supporting Amberbut we can still pray
Sofie Alexandra Stark has arrived!
On Monday Aug 31st I brought a new daughter into my home and heart!
After MONTHS of waiting and praying and tears and frustration I was finally
able to bring my 6 month old daughter, Sofie home to stay! On September
22nd I will go before a judge to be granted official guardianship (the final
adoption will happen 9 to 12 months from now, it is a Slovak policy).
I am SO happy to have my baby girl home! My mom and my "Slovak mom"
were both able to go with me to pick her up from the children's home which
was a very special time.
Now we are settling in here and Sofie is getting used to her new home and
her new mother...and I am getting used to being a mother!
Sofie's room is in the new construction project...which starts tomorrow! So
my room is now a bedroom, living room AND nursery! I am really looking
forward to the cottage being finished so we will have more room (AND so
we can start having guests again!).
Thank you so much for all your prayers for me during these last difficult
months. Rejoice with me now as I see the fulfillment of a long-held dream!
Please do continue to pray:
That Sofie and I will bond well during these first few months
For me to learn how to be a good mother
Patience for both Sofie and I as we learn about each other
That the construction project would go well and not be too disturbing as
Sofie settles in
I am not able to post photos until after we see the judge (and possibly not
for a while after that) so you'll have to enjoy this pic of her hand and just
imagine her beautiful big brown eyes and long black hair!!!! She's
gorgeous!
With lots of love and smiles,
Amber (Mama) and Sofie

Any man can sing in the day. It is easy to sing when we can read the
notes by daylight; but he is the skillful singer who can sing when there
is not a ray of light by which to read. Songs in the night come only
from God; they are not in the power of man.
Charles Haddon Spurgeon
