POWERGRID, Southern Region Transmission System-II, having transmission system in the states of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu

Besides the above, the compensation package also includes IDA, HRA and other allowances, benefits such as monthly
conveyance reimbursement, medical facilities, various insurance covers, LTC, Performance Related Pay, Leave encashment, CPF,
Gratuity and various low interest short/long term advances to regular employees as per rules in force from time to time.


Selected candidates will be required to execute a Service Agreement Bond of Rs. 25,000/- for serving POWERGRID
for a minimum period of 3 years after successful completion of training period of one year.

The Selection Process for respective Post shall consist of the following:-.

Written Test & Interview
1. Written Test shall be of Objective Type of two hours duration consisting of two parts
a) Part-I consists of Professional Knowledge Test with 120 questions having specific questions of respective
b) Part-II consists of Supervisory Aptitude Test with 50 questions on vocabulary, verbal comprehension,
quantitative aptitude, reasoning ability, ability to determine data sufficiency, interpretation of
graphs/charts/tables, numerical ability etc.
2. All questions carry equal marks. Wrong and multiple answers would result in negative marks of 1/4.
3. The qualifying criteria in Written Test is 30% marks with at least 25% marks scored in Part I and II separately.
4. Candidates qualifying Written Test shall be called for Interview on merit.
5. Only those candidates who secure the minimum qualifying percentage of 30% in the Personal Interview will be
eligible to be considered for empanelment.
6. For calculation of final score, the weightage assigned are Written Test 85%, and Interview 15%.
7. In order to get empanelled, candidates must qualify separately in the Written Test and in the Personal Interview.
8. The applicants will have the option to appear for Written Test and Personal Interview in HINDI language also.
The candidates who opt for Hindi as the medium for the written test shall only be provided the Question paper in

requirement. Appointment of selected candidates will be subject to their being found medically fit in the PreEmployment Medical Examination to be conducted as per POWERGRID Norms and Standards of Medical Fitness.

Candidates selected under PwD category except the handicap for which relaxation is acceptable, must be within the
prescribed normal range for all other physical standards.


1. Maximum Age limit specified above is including relevant relaxation of 10 years for PwD candidates in addition to
the relaxation in the relevant category (03 years for OBC (Non-creamy layer) & 05 years for SC/ST).
2. Application fee is exempted for all as it is a Special Recruitment drive for PwD.
3. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/Ex-Servicemen candidates shall be given as per Government of India
4. Reservation/Relaxations/Concessions to Ex-service men will be subject to submission of Discharge certificate in
prescribed (by Govt of India) format issued by a Competent Authority. For Ex-servicemen with a minimum of six
months continuous service, the age relaxation is to the extent of period spent in service plus 3 years over & above
the category relaxation.
5. Reservation/ Relaxation for OBC (NCL) will be subject to submission of attested copy of OBC (NCL) certificate
along with NCL declaration in the format prescribed by the Govt. of India for Appointment in Central Govt. Posts
issued by the competent authority.
6. Reservation/ Relaxation for SC candidates will be subject to submission of attested copy of SC certificate in the
format prescribed by the Govt. of India for Appointment in Central Govt. Posts issued by the competent authority.
7. If the SC/ST/OBC-NC/PWD certificate has been issued in a language other than English/Hindi the candidates will
be required to submit a self-certified translated copy of the same either in English or Hindi.
8. Reimbursement of 2nd class rail fare by the shortest route to examination Centre is admissible for outstation PWD
candidates appearing for written test, provided the distance travelled is not less than 30 km.
9. Relaxations/Concessions for J&K domicile/victims of riots shall be admissible as per Govt. guidelines.
10. Necessary facilities applicable for PwD candidates shall be provided during the Selection process.
