Relocation and Benefits Information

Greetings from NVIDIA!
Congratulations on your internship offer from NVIDIA! We are excited to welcome you to our company, and were sure
that the months you spend with us will be both challenging and rewarding.
The following information is enclosed for your review:

Relocation to the Bay Area

Housing Rental Tips
Furniture Rental Option
Car Rental Option
Intern Benefits

All internships are a minimum of 12 weeks. Start dates are always on a Monday unless a Monday is a holiday, (then the
start date falls on the following Tuesday), and all end dates are on a Friday. The expectation is that you will be working
your entire internship with NVIDIA outside of weekends and normal holidays. Consult with your Recruiter if you have
questions.
RELOCATION TO THE BAY AREA (if applicable)
Please select one of the following options for relocation. You may NOT combine the two choices so make your decision
wisely.
Option 1 - Air Travel
NVIDIA will purchase one round-trip airline ticket for each intern/co-op if the Santa Clara headquarters is not local to
your current University. The ticket will cover travel from your University location which we have recruited you from to
Santa Clara.
1. Round-trip ticket purchased will be based on the lowest price available at the time of purchase with a maximum
of two connections.
2. When booking travel, arrangements should be made at least seven (7) days in advance in order to take
advantage of cost-effective airfares.
a. Any additional costs incurred after the time of purchase will be the responsibility of the intern/co-op
including flight or date changes. NVIDIA will incur the costs if the reporting manager requests the
changes.
3. Ground transportation to & from the destination airports should be via airport shuttle service, whenever
available, in order to take advantage of cost-effective ground transportation. (Note Car Rental fees will not
be reimbursed for arrivals or departures. If you rent a car it is at your own expense.)
a. Super Shuttle Airport Services (http://www.supershuttle.com/) offers 10% off when booking online.
Discount only applied if paid online and does not apply to exclusive vans or pre-existing reservations.
Discounts cannot be applied retroactively. Valid on select SuperShuttle and ExecuCar services
nationwide. Use this discount code: 8Y46R

To book your airline ticket, e-mail nvidia.intern@corptrav.com and identify yourself as an NVIDIA Intern/Co-op. Please
include your name, e-mail, contact phone number, and preferred dates of initial and return travel. ROUND TRIP
TICKETS SHOULD BE PURCHASED AT THIS TIME. If you dont get a response, please call 800-770-6713.
Option 2 - Driving to & from NVIDIA from your University location (Personal Vehicle only. Rental Car is not
covered)
NVIDIA will cover hotel, meals and gas (travel costs) for an intern/co-op to drive to and from the NVIDIA office in Santa
Clara and your University location, up to a maximum reimbursement. Original receipts must accompany the expense
report (keep your gas receipts). Travel expenses should reasonably reflect the distance you are traveling. For example,
travel less than 400 miles should not require an overnight stay. For each increment of 400 miles an overnight stay is
reasonable.
Hotel max: up to $100 will be reimbursed per night
Meal max: up to $10 Breakfast / $15 Lunch / $25 Dinner will be reimbursed per day
Shipping Policy
The provisions of NVIDIAs shipping policy are as follows:
Up to 100 lbs. of personal items (computers, clothing, books, etc.) can be shipped each way.
Shipping service must be a 3-5-day delivery or greater. Overnight and Next Day services are not covered.
Customs, taxes, and insurance are not covered; you can purchase insurance on your own.
NVIDIA is not liable for lost shipments, damaged shipments, or any additional costs outside of the shipping fee.
All international interns need to be aware of your local laws (import and export) for shipping items back at the
end of your internship.
When returning home from your internship it is recommended that you bring items home with you either directly
on your flight or in your car if you drive. Where you feel it is necessary to ship goods home you will need to work
directly with an outside shipping company, and then submit an expense report to NVIDIA. Changes in the
current laws have created difficulties in shipping personal items from NVIDIA directly.
Personal effects are permitted only to Canada, Australia, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Malaysia,
Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and the U.S. Virgin Islands
You must submit your original receipt showing:
The shipping address
Weight of shipment

Type of shipping method

Itemization of costs

Checked-In Luggage
If you do not ship items to Santa Clara, NVIDIA will reimburse up to 100lbs of checked-in luggage fees.
Save your receipt to submit for reimbursement once you start.
NBOUND Forum
Upon acceptance of your offer, you will receive an invitation to Nbound Forum. This forum is dedicated to the exchange
of housing and transportation information for our NVIDIA Interns. Feel free to add/respond to posts. You should have
received a separate email invitation. If you have not received this, please send an email to
NVInternProgram@nvidia.com.

HOUSING TIPS
Housing Resources: Posted on the Nbound Forum are some starting points to search for local area housing such as
http://www.craigslist.org, http://realestate.yahoo.com/, http://www.padmapper.com/, http://www.airbnb.com, or
www.apartments.com which previous interns have found useful. Please see housing recommendations attached at the
end of this document.
Here are some factors to consider when arranging your own housing:

Be sure to ask whether rent includes utilities, phone, cable, furniture, and sheets/towels etc.
Always ask the question, Are there any other costs I need to be aware of? The more often you ask this
question the better your chance of not being hit with a big surprise!
Be sure to get everything in writing.
Usually an upfront security cash deposit on an apartment and furniture rental is required.
You will typically submit an application (along with a fee) and credit report charges when you apply for an
apartment.
There may be some delivery, installation, and pick-up fees for furniture rentals and other rentals.
You may incur monthly utility expenses for water, garbage, and sewer hookups.
Some rentals will charge for cleaning, painting, and redecorating charges when you leave; typically deducted
from your deposit.
Before you sign the lease, understand the terms for terminating you may have to give 1 or 2 month notice (this
may apply even if your rental duration is in the contract).

NOTE: NVIDIA does not provide cash advances on salary or stipend prior to your start date, and cannot verify your
employment until after you start. Please provide your Intern Offer Letter if asked to provide employment verification.

please contact Enterprise Rent-a-Car directly.
Compact: $30.99/day, $159.99/week, $619.99/month (ex. Dodge Neon, Ford Escort)

Also, Enterprise offers a special for weekend rentals to be 50% off. (For example Friday to Monday)
I'm under 21, can I still rent a vehicle?
Yes, as long as you are over 18, and you carry your own full coverage automobile insurance that will transfer to a rental
car, you are welcome to rent a car as an NVIDIA intern. Enterprise has waived all surcharges for NVIDIA interns
between the ages of 18 and 25.
How does insurance work on the rental car?
Renters 21 years of age and older can either use their personal full coverage automobile insurance, or purchase our
additional protections. If you opt to use your personal insurance, you will want to be certain that you have
comprehensive, collision, and liability insurance, and that it will transfer to a rental car. If you are from outside the US
you must confirm that your coverage will also cover you outside of your country.

What types of protection does Enterprise offer, and what are the costs?
Damage Waiver (DW): $8.99/day or $150.00/month. DW would cover the cost of any comprehensive or collision losses
to the rented vehicle, as well as administrative and loss of use fees.
Supplement Liability Protection (SLP): $9.95/day. SLP provides up to $1 million in coverage for 3rd party claims made
against you, the renter, should you be responsible for an accident.
Are there any additional charges I should be aware of?
Sales Taxes, Airport Access Fees, Youthful Driver Surcharges, and any other applicable charges.
Can I share the rental car with another NVIDIA Intern?
Enterprise can authorize additional drivers on a rental contract. Just let them know and they will work out the details.
