pronombres
Antes de empezar a estudiar ingls, lo primero que debemos conocer son los
pronombres personales sujeto. Estos pronombres cumplen la funcin de sujeto.

Sin embargo, existen algunas excepciones. Por ejemplo, en el caso de los animales,
cuando queremos dotarlos de personalidad y otorgarles el sexo masculino o femenino
podemos emplear 'he' o 'she'.
Por ltimo, deberemos no olvidar que en ingls no se puede suponer que el sujeto est
implcito como en castellano.

2. Artculos
determinados e indeterminados
Los artculos son palabras que van delante de los sustantivos, e indican su gnero y
nmero. Los clasificamos en dos grupos: artculos determinados e indeterminados.
En ingls, el artculo determinado the tiene la particularidad y la ventaja que equivale
a nuestros cuatro artculos: el, la, los, las. Es invariable en gnero y nmero. Esto
quiere decir que sirve para el masculino y femenino, para singular y plural. Sirve para
determinar cosas concretas.

Aunque estas son las formas bsicas que utilizamos para hablar en presente, el verbo
TO BE tiene algunos usos peculiares.
Por ejemplo sirve para decir la edad. En este caso, podramos traducirlo como tener.
How old are you? Cuntos aos tienes?
I am 40 years old. Yo tengo 40 aos.
Peter is 15 years old.
Estoy feliz.

El verbo TO HAVE
Otro de los verbos ms importante junto con el TO BE, es el verbo 'TO HAVE'.
Este verbo equivale a dos significados en espaol 'tener' y 'haber'. En ocasiones puede
tener tambin otro significados, como 'tomar'. Aunque esto ser para casos muy
especficos.
En cualquier caso conoceremos su traduccin apropiada dependiendo del significado
de la frase.

El verbo to have suele adoptar la forma de auxiliar en las formas compuestas de los
verbos.
Cuando va seguido de un infinitivo corresponde a la forma castellana tengo que.
I have to go. Tengo que ir.
Aunque un uso muy habitual es el posesivo, tambin se utiliza para nombrar la toma
de alimentos (desayuno, comida y cena).
I have a big house.
I have breakfast.
I have lunch.
I have dinner.
En algunas ocasiones podemos haber odo hablar de have got. Esto es debido a que
en ingls britnico cuando queremos indicar posesin se suele utilizar el verbo seguido
got. Con esto deberemos tener mucho cuidado pues esta forma compuesta slo es
vlida para presente. Para el pasado deberemos usar simplemente had (que es el
pasado de have).

Cabe recordar que How much? se utiliza con nombres incontables (siempre en
singular), como el azcar.Por otro lado,How many? se utiliza con nombres contables,
es decir con cosas que se pueden contar como las manzanas o las naranjas.

Present Simple
En ingls el presente simple se forma con el infinitivo del verbo sin 'to' (forma bsica)
para todas las personas, a excepcin de la tercera persona singular que aade una -s
final.
A diferencia del espaol, para la construccin de la negacin y la interrogativa, se
recurre al verbo 'to do' que acta como auxiliar. En la tercera persona la forma 'do'
cambia a 'does', y entonces el verbo pierde la s que aadimos en la forma afirmativa.
Lo vemos a continuacin:

El presente simple se utiliza para hablar de cosas que pasan habitualmente, como
puede ser el caso de las rutinas.
On Monday I go to the supermarket.
Se suele utilizar con adverbios de tiempo como: always, often, usually, never
Se usa tambin para dar instrucciones.
Open the window.
Abre la ventana.

Para los verbos que terminan en consonante seguida de una doble consonante o
una doble vocal seguida de una consonante, aadimos "ing".

En los verbos que terminan en ie, se eliminan las dos vocales y aadimos una "y"
seguida por "ing".

Past simple
El pasado simple sirve para hablar de acciones que ocurrieron en el pasado y ya estn
terminadas. La conjugacin del pasado simple funciona de forma muy similar al
presente simple.
Para la forma afirmativa vamos a diferenciar entre los verbos regulares y los
irregulares. Los verbos regulares sern aquellos en los que simplemente debemos
aadir ed al final de la forma base del verbo. Los verbos irregulares son aquellos en
los que deberemos aprender las formas especiales que adoptan para el pasado.
En la forma negativa e interrogativa, se diferenciar del presente simple puesto que en
pasado utilizamos la forma DID en lugar de DO/ DOES.

Algunos verbos con vocal corta que acaban en consonante vocal consonante,
duplican la ltima consonante.
Stop stopped
Los verbos regulares con ms de una slaba, en los cuales el acento tnico recae en la
ltima slaba, duplican la consonante final.

Past continuous
El pasado continuo sirve para expresar una accin que estaba ocurriendo en el pasado
pero que o no conocemos cuando termin o no resulta de importancia saber cundo
termin.
Sirve tambin para expresar dos acciones que ocurrieron simultneamente o que se
desarrollaron en el pasado una a continuacin de la otra.
Se forma conjugando el verbo to be en su forma de pasado (was/were) como auxiliar
ms el gerundio del verbo que se quiere conjugar. Las reglas de formacin del
gerundio son las mismas que para el presente continuo.
