Surkhet is approximately twenty km from Birendranagar is an applicant to
the W2 VCF. The submitted business plan lacked consensus in the construction and renovation of
the goat shed. JBUSS had initially submitted their BP on the renovation of the goat shed. At a later
stage they had requested on the re-submission of their BP with construction of the goat shed
instead of its renovation. On the 31st August14, a PMU team comprising of Harimadan Adhikari (AEC),
and Abhijit Bhattacharya (SNV) visited Lekhgaon for a situation analysis for the appropriateness to the
HVAP grant support on the construction or/and renovation of the goat shed to the individual HHs.

4. Lalisara Reshmi (stone wall)
The following observations were made;

The existing goat sheds was well constructed with thatched roof ventilation with a good
plinth height supported with wooden planks walls and bamboo floor. Two shed were
constructed with stones and mud.

Most sheds had an extended balcony to stall feed the goats.

The goats were a cross breed of khari and jamuna pari and productive in goat rearing

The existing sheds were insufficient to accommodate incremental growth of the goat herd
size.

Bamboo and labour is commonly available but wood is scare.

Sufficient availability of fodder and forage on individually owned land.

On the discussion and further clarity on the consequences of misappropriation and

incompletion of the shed in terms of HVAP parameters the following member volunteered
