Stage
Our group has
followed proposed
schedule in week 2 to
begin 1st meeting. The
enthusiasm for each
member is found to be
at optimum level. The
only issue found
throughout the 1st
meeting is the
presence of comfort
zone and lack of
courage to express
ideas and opinions for
some members.
In this week, we have
followed our own
schedule. Since this
week meeting was 2nd
meeting, each member
was active in giving
opinions and ideas
compared to the
previous meeting.
Although we were
active during second
meeting compared to
first meeting, we need
to improve our ideas
that have been
suggested.

For this weeks 3rd

meeting, each member
is given a task for the
design proposal.
During the making of
design proposal, we
faced a lot of
disagreements and
challenges to reach
mutual understanding.
It has affect our
enthusiasm but we all
were optimistic and
fully aware about the
problems that we were
facing. Nevertheless,
the disagreements and
minor arguments had
improved our
teamwork and
teamwork is a crucial
key factor in project
management.

We had bought the

materials that needed
for our product last
week. In this week, we
have a group discussion
together to gather more
ideas for the
manufacturing of the
materials that bought.
We also discussed
about the coming
artifact presentation
that on week 8. We split
the presentation into 5
parts and each member
handled each part
equally. During the
discussion, we manage

We had initiated the

Norming
manufacturing stage
I to complete the
fundamental progress
of making the
prototype. The
materials are easily
to be tailored on its
required size and
dimensions.
However, we found
ourselves lack of
knowledge about
specific details for
manufacturing the
toothpaste cartilage.
Our team has
overcame this huge
challenge by holding
discussion and
conclude that our
anthropometry data
should be confirmed
through the final
stage of artefact
presentation in order
to proceed
manufacturing stage
II as geometrical

We had initiated the

Norming
manufacturing stage
II to finish the
fundamental progress
of making the
prototype. The tubing
is tailored on its
required size and
dimensions before it
is combined with the
toothbrush. Our team
has discovered
hindrances in
combining and
sealing the tubing
without any leakage.
However, our team
members are able to
communicate with
each other in
regarding the minor
details for combining
the tubing with the
toothbrush. At the
end, all team
members are
satisfied with the
outcome and are
looking forward to
manufacturing stage
III in future.

We had proceeded to
manufacturing stage
III which shaping the
metal frames of the
toothbrush cartilage.
It is found that the
mating process of the
stainless steel sticks
requires
sophisticated and
logical thinking in
order to have a metal
structure with a
systematic
appearance. Hence,
we face some inner
conflicts regarding to
the proper mating
methods of metal
frames for our
toothpaste cartilage.
To maintain an
effective team, we
resolve the conflict
by assigning Ho You
Liang which he is
responsible on
further materials
research to determine
the proper mating
methods. We are
satisfied with the
outcome and we are
looking forward to
have more
collaboration
moments in future of
manufacturing
stages.

We had proceeded to Performin

manufacturing stage g
IV which is
combining the upper
part of the toothbrush
with the toothbrush
cartilage. The metal
frame is fused with a
trailed opening to
connect to the
toothbrush head so
that both parts can be
combined
successfully.
However, the rubber
latex used to cover
the toothbrush
cartilage is found to
be not appropriate.
Thus, we are
attempting to solve
this conflict by doing
more researches on
the materials to
figure out the best
material to cover the
toothbrush cartilage.
We sincerely hope
that our
manufacturing
progress would
match up with our
proposed schedule.

Manufacture stage
IV
- Combining the top
part of the
toothbrush with
the toothbrush
cartilage.
- Covering the
toothbrush
cartilage with
rubber latex.
- Doing research on
the materials of

cartilage.

For this week, we had

completed
manufacturing stage V
which includes the
completion of the
toothbrush cartilage
using rubber latex.
Once the handle was
done, we had tested
the toothbrush out by
connecting the
toothbrush cartilage
with the top part of the
toothbrush. Toothpaste
bas been successfully
squeezed out from the
handle to the bristles
of the toothbrush via
the outlets, but
provided with enough
squeezing force.
Conflicts occurred
between the group
members regarding the
cartilage skin material
due to its
uncomfortable grip.
Nevertheless, further
discussions and
improvements were
made on the
toothbrush to solve the
conflicts. Materials
purchasing trip III was
also initiated in order
to apply a better way
of squeezing out the
toothpaste and also to
ensure that the
toothbrush cartilage
provides a more
comfortable grip.

Performing

Manufacturing stage
V
- Connecting the top
part of toothbrush
with the toothbrush
cartilage
- Testing of the
toothbrush by
squeezing the
handle
- Improvise the
functionality of the
toothbrush to ensure
it fulfills the
ergonomics
principles.
Materials Purchasing
Trip III
- 100g toothpaste
- Syringe
- UHU super glue
- Cloth pieces
