ALARMING SEX-NO OF VIETNAMESE SEXUAL EDUCATION

"I have been having my period for two years. I have got a boyfriend in
the same class and we have hugged and kissed, though we kept our
clothes on. Am I pregnant?" inquiries by one 13-year-old Hanoi student.
Such queries are not unusual for a Vietnamese student and surely tell
us the lack of sexual education in the region and how it can
dangerously impact OUR nation. Evidently, the average Vietnamese
teenager has sex for the first time at 14.5 years old. This suggests that
most teenagers become sexually active long before they ever receive
any guidance about sex and contraception, which patently leads to
nearly 1/3 of the heightening rate of 1.4 million of abortions a year in
Vietnam!

By all these means are because of how recoiled the parent about sex
that they wouldnt give their children the talk about the bird and the
bees and even as for administrative and teacher of whom many are

reportedly too embarrassed to discuss intimate sexual matters with the

students in school.
"Im very worried. We kiss every time we go out. Will I get pregnant.
We also go swimming and I was told swimming can make you
pregnant. Is that true?" asked Ha Anh, 17, a student at Da Nang high
school. Although you might find the humor in this ,but its a shocking
situation where millions of teenagers out there like Anh still waiting for
one their most important life lesson.
