COMMUNICATIVE OBJECTIVES:
The student will be able to identify the animals in their context.
The student will be able to relate pictures of animals with the correct word (verbal).
STANDARDS:

TOPIC: The zoo
MATERIALS: Hat, videos, pictures of animals.
WARM UP ACTIVITY
The students and the teacher will listen, watch, and dance to the song from the last class so the students can remember the commands.

INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITY: The teacher will present the sounds of the animals. The
students will say what animal it is. Then, the teacher will show pictures to the
students and they will pronounce and know the animal.
This method
combines speech
with action and
aims to teach the
language through
physical activity.
Students
physically
respond to verbal
commands from
the teacher.
GUIDED ACTIVITY: The students will play the zoo of room, each student will have to
show their animal. They will have to imitate it.
The teacher will print pictures of animals and remove around a third of the
animals body.
The teacher will ask the children to come one after the other and take one of the
pictures (Please take a picture).
When each child has got a picture, they glue it into in the notebook and will
complete the picture with their own drawing (Glue the animal onto the paper and
finish the picture).
Each child will show the picture to the whole class and name the animal in English.
RELATION WITH
THE ACTIVITY
The student will
follow
instructions in
the guided
activity and
closure. The
students will
imitate the
animals.
CLOSURE:
The teacher will show the children how to imitate different animals ( for a rabbit - use your
hands as ears and hop up and down, for a dog use one arm to wag your tail, and so on).
The teacher will put on the magicians hat, take the wand in her hand and explain to the children
that they are wizards and witches and they will change everyone into an animal: Now Im a
witch/wizard and I can change you into (rabbits).
Say: Abracadabra! Listen to me! You are (rabbits)! One, two, three.
The teacher will close her eyes whilst counting. During this time the children must change into
the chosen animal.
The teacher will open your eyes and compliment the children: Fantastic! What lovely (rabbits)!
