GPs), the premiere mechanical engineering organization in UP Diliman, and should be the ONLY recognized event
organizers of the Diliman Motorshow.

SECTION 1 LAYOUT
A. Upper Area
1. The upper area of the AS Parking lot will be covered by big tents. As opposed to previous years where
individul tents were provided only along the sides of the venue.
2. The upper area is nearest to the entrance and adjacent to the UP Academic Oval. The upper area is the most
visible to pedestrians and motorists and viewers of the Diliman Motorshow.
3. The following are lot types in the upper area:
I.

Standard Spots
1. Standard spot dimensions is 16x12 ft2. Only one car is allowed per standard spot. There will be a total of
thirty (30) standard spots available upon start of registration.
2. It is entirely up to the registrant as to how the vehicle will be oriented as long as it will not exceed the lot
area agreed and purchased upon registration.
3. Items that the registrant intends to display (e.g., trophies, medals, plaques) are also restricted by the premarked area set by the motorshow organizers.
4. Any violation of the above mentioned rules will earn the participant a warning. A participant can only
accumulate three (3) minor warnings or one (1) major warning before being given a corresponding
penalty. See section 4. 1. 2.

II. Prime Spots


1. There are six (6) prime spots situated in the upper area composed of:
a. Three (2) Deluxe spots with dimensions of 20x48 ft2
b. Four (4) Premiere spots with dimensions of 20x24 ft2
2. There will be no limit to the number of cars that can occupy a prime spot. This may be composed of cars
owned by a single participant or cars from different owners. For the latter case, the registrant must
submit the names of the owners with whom the registrant will be sharing the prime spot with. The
following area the organizers estimate for the number of cars that can fit a prime spot:
a. A maximum of 5 cars can be placed in the 20x48 ft2
b. A maximum of 2 cars can be placed in the 20x24 ft2
3. Payment for a prime spot will be under one transaction only. Registrants who will be sharing the prime
spot with other car owners must submit a list of the names with whom the registrant will be sharing the
prime spot with.

4. All other items that will be showcased by the participant is also restricted in the marked area by the
organizers.
5. Viewers must have access to the prime spot areas. The display area must not be fenced in any form so as
to restrict access from the outside. Same conditions for violations and penalties apply to standard and
prime spots. See section 4. I. 2.
B. Lower Area
1. Side events, RC drift, Die Cast Displays and the Stage will be situated in the lower area of the AS parking lot.
2. The lower area of the AS parking lot will not be covered by big tents. It is intended to be an open area
although smaller tents will be provided but will only be situated along the sides.
3. The following area the lot types for the lower area:

Special Spots
1. Special spot dimensions is 12 x 24 ft2 situated in the open area on the lower section of the AS Parking lot
around the stage and mini events. There will be a total of thirty-six (36) special spots available upon start
of registration.
2. Individual tents of the same dimensions will be provided by the Diliman Motorshow organizers. These
tents cannot accomodate monster trucks due to height limit.
3. There will also be no limit as to how many automobiles the registrant intend to fit in one special spot. The
Diliman Motorshow organizers estimate one (1) sedan to fit in one special spot.
4. Same area restrictions apply to the Special spots. Miscellaneous display items such as trophies, medals
and plaques shall also be displayed within the tent area.
5. Individual tents will be provided with their own lightning during the night.

II. Prime Spots


1. There are nine (9) prime spots situated in the lower area composed of:
a. Five (5) Deluxe spots with dimensions of 20x48 ft2
b. Four (4) Premiere spots with dimensions of 20x24 ft2
2. There will be no tent provided for lower area prime spots.
3. Lower area prime spots share similar rules and details that apply to upper area prime spots. See Section 1.

SECTION 2 REGISTRATION
I.

Pre-Registration

1. All pre-registrants are entitled to compete in the carshow. Only pre-registered vehicles are to be judged
by the official lineup of judges on the day of the motorshow.
2. The organizers must be contacted and informed by the participant to pre-register for the motorshow,
either through SMS or e-mail.
3. Pre-registered participants are also requested to inform the organizers of their facebook accounts, in
order to form a group and have a more convenient and efficient method of information dissemination.
This is not mandatory but the organizers shall not be held liable to any delays caused by e-mail and, or,
SMS when disseminating essential information.

4. A meeting with the pre-registrant will be set where briefing of the rules, terms and conditions, and signing
of memorandum of agreement shall be made.
5. The motorshow organizers must be informed of the details of the meeting (time and venue) at least
twenty four (24) hours before the actual meeitng either by e-mail or SMS, through the contact details in
the publicity materials released by the motorshow organizers.
6. A registrant will be considered pre-registered if signing and payment are made before the day of the
event. The organizers have the right to refuse a meet-up for pre-registration on the day before the
motorshow if:
a. The twenty-four (24) hour prior notice was not followed or;
b. The intended meet will be at an inconvenient time and venue for the motorshow organizers. See
preferred times and venues for pre-registration.
7. There will be a general assembly of the pre-registered participants and organizers seven (7) days before
the motorshow. This will be on the 2nd of March 2013. Inquiries from the participants regarding the
motorshow, both in-depth and general, are strongly recommended by the organizers. Time and venue will
be announced.
8. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. No other registrant can get a specific lot area once it is
reserved.
9. Changes to the reserved area will only be entertained until seven (7) days before the motorshow, 2nd of
March 2013. The motorshow organizers recommend that changes be made during the general assembly
taking place on the same date. Any changes regarding the lot assignments will not be allowed beyond the
said date.
a. If a registering participant desires a slot already reserved, the registrant must wait for a vacancy
on the slot desired. If a vacancy fails to open past the deadline, the registrant have to choose
from the remaining vacancies in the motorshow layout to be provided by the organizers.
b. Registered participants may trade spots prior to the motorshow. However, the deadline for the
lot changes still applies, such that the spot reserved by the participants to the motorshow
organizers must be the spot the registrant occupies during the motorshow. The motorshow
organizers must be informed of any spot trades done among the registrants prior to the said
deadline.
c. No refunds regarding trades of different lot areas will be given. Such transactions must be settled
between participants involved, excluding the motorshow organizers.
10. A downpayment of 60% of the whole fee must be made during the pre-registration period. Completion of
payment can be done on the scheduled general meeting of the organizers and participants, one (1) week
before the motorshow.
11. The registrant will only be considered a pre-registrant if the full payment for the slot reserved is
completed before the day of the motorshow. In the event that the full payment fails to reach the said
deadline, the registrant will be considered a walk in participant. See Section 2, II.
II.

Walk-in Registration

1. Walk-in participants are not entitled to compete in the carshow. All automobiles to be registered on the
day itself shall be for display only.
2. A walk-in participant will only be entitled to display the registered automobile in a vacant lot during the
walk-in period. The updated motorshow layout will also be presented to the participant in order to
choose from the lots available, although in some cases:
a. The organizers shall have to limit the choices in which lots the walk-in registrant can place the
registered vehicle. This will be for a more optimal layout and spacing of the carshow;

b. In more constrained cases, walk-in participants shall have to settle for a lot chosen by the
motorshow organizers.
The start of registration for walk-ins will begin at 1:00 pm. Cut-off time for walk-in participants will be at
3:00 pm. After the cut-off time no registrants will be entertained.
The organizers have the right to refuse a walk-in participant if:
a. There is no more vacancy in the area covered by the venue;
b. The registrant is in an unfit condition to participate in a social event such as the Diliman
Motorshow. See Section 4.
Walk-in registration is also on a first come, first served basis.Upon completion of the walk-in registration
and all necessary transactions, only then can the automobile be parked at the designated lot inside the
venue.
Same rates apply for walk-in registration. The motorshow organizers have every right to change the
layout of vacant prime spots mid-event in order to cater to an increased number of walk-in registrants.

1. All fees are non-refundable. Two (2) major violations or (4) minor violations may result to disqualification
or ejection. A pre-registered participant may be refused entry from the event depending on the degree of
the violation committed. See Section 4
2. Payment will only push through once the registrant agrees to all terms and conditions set by the
motorshow organizers along with the registration form duly signed by the participant.
3. Payment may be made in cash or through a bank deposit in the account of UP Gears and Pinions to be
given by the motorshow organizers if the registrant ever choose to do this method.
SECTION 3 MOTORSHOW PROPER
I.

1. Pre-registered participants are required to come at a specific time period, assigned by the motorshow
organizers, to the general meeting prior to the event itself. The time period will be updated through the
facebook group, e-mail and SMS the night before the event proper. This will be a very specific window for
every pre-registered participants. Clocks must be synced with the current local time at www.google.com,
just key in current local time and sync in to avoid unnecessary delays. A reminder for this synchronization
will be given at the assignments update the night before the motorshow.
2. Pre-registered participants that arrive at an earlier time than their respective assignment will have to wait
for their assigned window to come before being able to enter and set-up at the venue.
3. It is advised for participants to think of the orientation of their automobiles in the lot available
beforehand in order to maintain a steady flow of traffic during the ingress.

4. Participants are required to come only within the assigned window given by the motorshow organizers.
Participants who arrive earlier than set window will have to wait for their assigned entry time.
5. Participants are strongly prohibited to park and wait at the academic oval, adjacent to the venue of the
event. The road is owned by the government of Quezon City and is beyond the jurisdiction of the
motorshow organizers. The other half of the AS parking lot is a suitable place to wait for the participants
respective window.
6. There will be minimum tolerance for being late. The motorshow organizers assure that the time period
given to pre-registered participants will suffice for the registration booths collection of pertinent papers
and the parking of the registered automobile. Although:
a. In an unprecendented case that a window overlap takes place due to a procedural delay,
participants will be required to form a single file leading to the entry point as displayed in the
layout provided. Participants must only get in line during their respective time windows;
b. The motorshow organizers will send an SMS to late participants and set a new deadline
depending on the flow of pre-registrants and on the accessibility of the reserved slot. Participants
who fail to arrive before the new deadline shall automatically be placed in a different slot but will
still be able to participate in the competition. Prime spot holders are no exception to this rule.
7. All pre-registered participants that arrive past the ingress period shall be considered walk-in participants.
These participants are still permitted to display but may be located at a completely different spot and
their automobiles will not be judged for any categories it may have fallen under.
II.

Judging and Awarding


1. As aforementioned, only pre-registered vehicles that have met the requirements for competing are the
only ones entitled for judging and awarding. All other automobiles will be participating solely for display
purposes and will not be covered by the official lineup of judges of the Diliman Motorshow.
2. Automobiles are categorized by the motorshow organizers depending on the filled-out specification sheet
submitted by the participant upon pre-registration and will only be judged according to the category the
vehicle falls under.
3. The participants will be informed through facebook and e-mail of the final lineup of judges as soon as it is
confirmed. This information will include their names, affiliations and qualifications.
4. Once all the judges have completed scoring all the qualified automobiles, a thorough deliberation will take
place deciding which of the top vehicles deserve the Best of Show award.
5. All the scores submitted by the judges to the motorshow organizers shall be final and irrevocable. The
results are confidential and knowledge regarding the scoring and tally shall be known only to the
motorshow organizers and the board of judges.
6. The motorshow organizers have every right to revoke an award should the awardee be deemed
unworthy. Reasons for this case include:
a. Committing a major offence either by obstructing the flow of the Diliman Motorshow and/or
inflict physical harm to any viewer, participant or personnel during the event proper.
b. Any other type of offence that shall render the awardee undeserving of any and all awards that
have been given prior to committing the offence. See Section 4
7. Any concerns regarding the decision and awarding shall be entertained after the egress period, although
inquiries and information regarding the scoring and tally of the judges that lead to the selection of
awardees cannot and shall not be answered and divulged to the participants in order to preserve the
confidentiality and finality of the judges decision.

III.

Mini Events
Start: 1:00 pm
End: 6:00 pm

1. There are a total of three (3) official mini events in the Diliman Motorshow namely:
a. RC Drift Demonstrations care of Philippine RC Drifters;
b. Miniature Car Display care of Die Cast Philippines and
c. Hot wheels mini carshow care of Hot Wheels Philippines
2. Viewers and participants are encouraged to participate in any activity the official mini events have. Mini
events co-presentors, sponsors, representatives, and other personnel are entitled to sell their respective
merchandise to all audiences in the Diliman Motorshow.
3. The motorshow organizers will not receive any percentage of the earnings from merchandise sold during
the day of the carshow.
4. Mini-events co-presentors, sponsors, representatives, and other personnel shall also abide by the rules
and regulations regarding setup on the allotted area on the day of the Diliman Motorshow. Similarly, all
offences and penalties apply.
A. RC Drift Demo
1. The area for the RC drift track will be set by the organizers. This means props for the makeshift
barriers, strips and the like that essentially form the track shall not go beyond the marked
perimeter.
2. An exception to the area restriction applies to the RC drift cars as it is its general tendency to go
beyond the perimeter, consequently, added conditions for RC drift cars include:
a. Motorshow organizers strongly advise the RC drift car owners to play within the preset
perimeter. This is for the sole purpose of preventing injury and damage to property.
b. The motorshow organizers, participants and viewers shall not be held liable to any
damages to the RC drift car should an accident occur outside the set perimeter that result
to any type of damage(s) to the RC drift car, minor and/or major.
c. In the event of any damage to property or injury caused by an RC drift car that takes place
outside the set perimeter, the owner of the specific RC drift car shall be held liable by the
owner of the damaged property (this may possibly include the motorshow
organizers)and/or the injured entity. The carshow organizers must not be held
accountable for any of the aforementioned.
B. Miniature Car Display
1. Two (2) 4x5 ft2 tables and respective glass enclosure shall be provided by the motorshow
organizers. This can be used to display the Die Cast models on the day itself.
2. The Die Cast booth is also covered by the area restrictions set by the motorshow organizers for
every participating registrant. The dimensions of the allotted area for the Die Cast displays will be
given an equivalent of two (2) standard spots, a total of 24 x 16 ft2.
3. Only the above mentioned materials shall be provided by the motorshow organizers. The
arrangement of the displays shall be entirely on the discretion of the owner(s) of the Die Cast
displays.
4. Same rules and regulations and penalties apply to Die Cast Phlippines as applied with registered
participants and RC drifters. See Section 4. I. 2.
IV.

Egress
Start: 10:00 pm
End: 12:00 am
1. Any delays to the program flow will guarantee an effect on the egress period. In the event of any delay,
egress will begin five (5) minutes after the final trophy, The Best of Show, has been awarded.

2. Automobiles will be guided by the motorshow organizers during the egress period. Vehicles shall exit in
an orderly manner according to the most convenient order as seen from the layout. A maximum of four
(4) exit points shall be opened for a faster, more efficient egress period.
3. The end of the egress period and event proper shall mean that all automobiles of officially registered
participants of the Diliman Motorshow have exited the venue.
4. As aforementioned, concerns regarding the awarding shall only be entertained after the egress period.
And any access to information about the scoring and judging system is restricted to keep the finality and
confidentiality of the Diliman Motorshow and its board of judges.
5. There will strictly be no participant allowed to exit the Diliman Motorshow until the egress period has
begun. Failure to comply corresponds to a fine and the participant shall be forfeited of any and all awards
won in the Diliman Motorshow. See Section 4. I. 5.
SECTION 4 OFFENCES AND PENALTIES
I.

Minor Offences and Penalties


1. Participants who will come later than the second set deadline (sent via SMS) (See section 3.I.6.b) shall be
relocated at a different lot decided upon by the motoshow organizers. Failure to cooperate shall, if
competing, disqualify the participant and the vehicle shall be prohibited from the carshow premises of the
said event.
2. Strictly no engine roars or loud music before 6:00 pm. The AS Parking lot is in front of the Palma hall, a
college building in UP Diliman. Vehicles equipped with sound systems must limit the volume of their
music as to not distrub classes and exams in the said building. There will only be two (2) warnings and
upon the third a fine of one five hundred (500) pesos shall be collected from the violator. The participant
shall still lower the music volume even after being fined. Failure to cooperate shall result to immediate
disqualification and possible ejection.
3. There will be roaming inspectors in the motorshow venue to check for setups that go beyond their
respective display area. A total of three (3) warnings shall be allowed for participants before being fined
with an amount of five hundred (500) pesos. Warnings shall be given in any of the following manner:
a. An official roaming inspector verbally warns the participant or any person concerned in the
immediate vicinity of the reserved lot. The inspector then proceeds to write a mark on the
corresponding violators name on the list carried by the inspector and appropriate adjustments
shall be made.
b. In the case that no participant or person concerned is available at the moment the violation is
caught, the official inspector shall then later inform the violator and appropriate adjustments
shall be made.
c. The fine of five hundred (500) pesos shall also apply, if a violator refuses to comply to the above
regulations, the motorshow organizers have the right to, if competing, disqualify the participant
and take the necessary measures to maintain the proper flow of the Diliman Motorshow.
4. Littering within the Diliman Motorshow premises is strictly prohibited. There will be trash bins provided in
the area and all waste material shall be properly thrown in the bins provided. A fine of one hundred (100)
php will be charged to anyone caught in the act of littering three (3) times.
5. Destruction of property whether with intention or by accident shall incur a corresponding fine payable to
the Diliman Motorshow organizers. The amount will be decided upon by the owners, if any, of the
material(s) that has been damaged or destroyed by the actions of the responsible party. This account shall
be settled no later than twenty four hours (24) hours after the Diliman Motorshow.
6. No automobile registered for the Diliman Motorshow is allowed to leave before the set egress period.
Failure to comply can directly or indirectly result to damage to property and disruption of the overall flow
of the Diliman Motorshow. A participant that fails to comply to the above rules shall be responsible for
the following:

a. Organizers of the Diliman Motorshow shall not be responsible for any property damages and/or
physical injuries caused by the offender.
b. The offender must take responsibility for all damage to property and/or phyiscal injuries that was,
directly or indirectly, caused by the course of action undertaken. The offender must settle
accounts with the opposite party or parties involved including the Diliman Motorshow
oraganizers if need be.
c. A fine of one thousand (1000) pesos shall be paid to the Diliman Motorshow organizers upon exit
from the venue. This is separate from any amount payable to the motorshow organizers if the
offender is also responsible for damage to property and/or physical injuries to the Diliman
Motorshow and its organizers.
II.

Major Offences and Penalties


1. Possession of firearms is strictly prohibited in and during the Diliman Motorshow. Registered automobiles
are not to be searched at any time during the event proper. Anyone caught of possession will
automatically be, if competing, disqualified from the competition. The following measures are to be done
to maintain the security and proper flow of the Diliman Motorshow:
a. The said firearm shall be surrendered to the motorshow organizers including any additional
firearms and deadly weapons and instruments carried by the offender.
b. Organizers of the Diliman Motorshow and the UP Police shall be authorized to search the vehicle
for any remaining firearms, ammunition and deadly weapons. Any of the aforementioned found
shall be confiscated by the motorshow organizers to be surrendered to the UP Police.
c. Confiscated firearms shall be claimed from the UP Police. The Diliman Motorshow organizers shall
not be responsible for any legal violations committed by the participant towards the Quezon City
Government.
2. Consumption and/or possession of alcoholic beverages of any kind in and during the Diliman Motorshow
is strictly prohibited. Various cases are as follows:
a. Consumption of alcoholic beverages in any amount automatically costs the offender a fine of one
thousand (1000) pesos.
b. Anyone caught in the act of consumption shall automatically be, if competing, disqualified from
the competition and all remaining consumed or unconsumed beverage shall be surrendered to
the motorshow organizers.
c. A participant or party caught only in possession of said beverages shall have to surrender its
entirety to the motorshow organizers. Failure to comply shall, if competing, disqualify the
participant and charge the violator an amount of one thousand (1000) pesos.
d. All unconsumed, confiscated alcoholic beverages shall be returned by the motorshow organizers
during the egress period upon the owners exit from the venue.
3. Use and/or Possession of prohibited drugs are strictly prohibited. Anyone caught using and/or in
possession shall receive NO warning and be automatically, if competing, disqualified from the
competition. The violator shall be asked to surrender all and any remaining prohibited drugs and leave the
event premises. The violator shall then be directly dealt with by the UP Police. All laws of the Republic of
the Philippines and the Quezon City government apply in the Diliman Motorshow.
4. The Diliman Motorshow organizers shall not be held responsible for any type of losses that conspire in
and during the Diliman Motorshow. Security officers stationed across the vicinity shall maintain order and
ensure the proper execution of the show. The Diliman Motorshow is an open event and:
a. The organizers cannot and will not prevent access from the outside at any time during the event
proper. Participants are strongly adviced to keep close watch of belongings and to keep a
personnel in their respective areas at all times.
b. All, but not limited to Official Security personnel in the vicinity are entitled to apprehend and
search violators caught in the act of thievery.

c. The Diliman Motorshow organizers shall not be held liable to outcomes caused by any course of
action executed by other parties or entities. This includes, but are not limited to, damage to
property, injury and death.
d. All damages to property and/or life of motorshow organizers, media partners, sponsors, and
other personnel caused by the violator, including damages due to the course of action executed
by parties or entites to apprehend the violator, shall be accounted for by the said violator.
SECTION 5 OTHERS
1. There shall be no refund of any kind once a transaction has been completed. Registrants are strongly advised to
check and recheck change for payment and any other transaction amounts before finishing registration.
2. Payment regarding any violation incurred during the Diliman Motorshow shall be paid in full before the end of
the egress period unless stated otherwise by the above rules or by changes decided upon by the motorshow
organizers.
3. All items confiscated and kept by the carshow organizers shall be returned as the owner of the specific item exits
the carshow venue during the egress period. Any fine incurred by the same offender shall also be fully settled
before any confiscated items are returned. The motorshow organizers reserve the right to keep hold of
confiscated items until the corresponding fine, if any, is settled.
4. The Diliman Motorshow organizers will not account for any property damage and/or injury caused by natural
phenoma, e.g., earthquake, typhoon, flood, that may happen in the venue of and during the day of the event.
5. All of the above terms and conditions specifically apply, but are not limited, to officially registered participants of
the motorshow. Minor offences that apply to everyone on the show includes Section 4.I. (3 ,4). Major offences
listed above applies to everyone present in the Diliman Motorshow proper.
6. The motorshow organizers reserve the right to change any of the above written terms and conditions in order to
maintain or improve the flow and execution of RevUP! 2013: The 18th Diliman Motorshow.

Participants Oath:
I accept the following terms and conditons and agree to abide by all the written rules and regulations set by the UP
Gears and Pinions, the only official organizers of the Diliman Motorshow. I shall, by all means, surrender to any of the
penalties and settle all accounts that I incur in my involvement and participation in the REV UP! 2013: 18th Diliman
Motorshow.
