A Recommendation for Les Maisonettes

Once Sophie has recruited the needed employees for her business, Sophie may
now begin her induction. Her induction for employees may include a detailed tour of the
facility, introduction of senior officials in an orientation, and some reminders of what they are
in the company as shown by their job title. A detailed tour of the facility may include going
through the most-visited recreational areas including the horse back riding grounds to the
behind-the-scenes work that may range be from the maintenance from to the offices of the
administrators. This would make out familiarity in the new recruits as to where to go when a
certain problem arises, or when they are being called by their senior officials to a meeting.
They would save time on where they should go and what to do. The orientation to the new
recruits would include a few inspirational words from Sophie herself on what outlook the
recruit should have in the business, being customer-friendly and as well being an eco-friendly
pioneer in tourism. This may be followed by the reiterating of the mission and vision of Les
Maisonettes, and how they would want to progress in the near future. They would also be
reminded of what should be done at the time of duty and what shouldn't be allowed at the
time of duty. This shows the business wants the employees to concentrate on the job and to
avoid any complaints from the customers of the resort.
For tasks that may require skills and further refinement of talents on including
cooking and handling the administrative side of the business, I would suggest an on-the job
training in order for senior members to guide, shadow employees on what they are expected
to do. For new recruits who want to be senior members of the company, a more focused and
a more complex training would be part of their on-the-job training. They may also send one to
two senior members to a seminar outside of the complex or the country to better hone their
skills and to learn more about the skills leaning to a tourism business. They would also learn
new strategies, tips that would make getting the hang of working in that such business much
more smooth, and faster for the new recruits after the senior mangers finish from their
workshop seminar.
The advantages of handling a successful induction training would result to good
working habits and attitude that would be established from the start. This would result to
synergy in the business with employees benefiting from the efficient working habits from one
another. This would also propel the business faster as workers understand what they are

meant to do in the organization. Some disadvantages would include the cost of time and
capital to set-up an orientation and to find the necessary senior officials to brief these new
recruits on what they are to do. The information learned from the orientation may not be
completely memorized by the new recruits and this may confuse them if they were to refer to
their knowledge on the business.
On the job training will result in cheaper and more focused training of the skills of new
recruits. Disadvantages would be the lack of knowledge of new tricks of the trades on how to
cook, or to administer better in their job. Off the job training to officials will make officials be
able to cascade the new tricks of the trades to new recruits. Yet this training would be
expensive and there would be an absence of labor output in the company when an official
leaves for a workshop seminar.
