Besides the specification of a use case, the production of this artifact implies the elaboration of:
i.
ii.
iii.
iv.

2.2.2

A use case diagram, accessed through the html version of the EA project.
An activity diagram, accessed through the html version of the EA project.
Screen mock-ups, accessed through screen shots pasted on the use case specification word
document.
A table with input and output data included in the use case specification word document.

Enterprise Architecture

This section describes the way the business analyst should work using the Enterprise Architecture Tool.
A. For each module:
1. List the functional and non functional requirements and upload them to the EA tool within the

Refer to the Requirements Management in Enterprise Architecture.pdf book uploaded in
Cash Generator Site -> Team Reference Material as a helpful reading for the business analyst to
accomplish this task.
As a first instance, the requirements can be extracted from the documents generated during the
Inception Phase:
i.
BRD
ii.
JAD Meeting Minutes
iii.
List of enhancements identified and prioritized
For the EPOS project, the documents to be used for this purpose are:
i.
BRD: EPOS -> 01 Inception Phase -> 01 BRD -> EPOS CashGenerator BRD v10.docx
ii.
iii.

iv.
v.

JAD Meeting Minutes: EPOS -> 01 Inception Phase -> 02 JAD Sessions -> 02 Meeting
Minutes
Business Rules & Considerations: EPOS -> 01 Inception Phase -> 02 JAD Sessions -> 01
Business Rules & Considerations.
List of Enhancements: EPOS -> 01 Inception Phase -> 02 JAD Sessions -> 04 Enhancement

CashGen (EPOS) Enterprise Vision and Enhancements: EPOS -> -> 01 Inception Phase -> 02
JAD Sessions -> 04 Enhancement Sessions.

In the Enterprise Architecture, the Requirements Package is used as it can be seen in the figure
below:

Refer to chapter #2 from the UseCaseDriven.pdf book uploaded in Axcess Financial Enterprise

Architecture Site -> Team Reference Material -> Books & Guide Reference as a helpful reading for
the business analyst to accomplish this task. The password to read the book is

In the Enterprise Architecture, the Domain Analysis View Package from the Analysis View Package
is used as it can be seen in the figure below:

3. Work with a centralized Actors Diagram Package within the Use Case View Package. If a new
actor is identified, this package is the right place to add it.

4. Work with a centralized Package Diagram that consolidates all the uses cases identified by each
module. This gives the analyst and any stakeholder a better overview of the scope of the project.
In the Enterprise Architecture, the Package Diagram from the Use Case View Package is used as
it can be seen in the figure below:

Figure 4 - Package Diagram

5. Create the Use Case Model for the module assigned to the business analyst, e.g., Sales Counter,
Buying Counter, etc.
In the Enterprise Architecture, the Use Case View Package is used as it can be seen in the figure
below:

6. Map the requirements with use cases to ensure traceability.

For each Use Case (Parent):
1. Design the Activity Diagram. In the Enterprise Architecture, the Activity Diagram Package from the
Analysis View Package is used as it can be seen in the figure below:

Figure 7 - Activity Diagram

2. Do the Use Case Specification. For this purpose, refer to the Use Case Specification template
uploaded in Cash Generator Site -> EPOS -> 02 Elaboration Phase -> 01 Use Cases.
The name of the file comprises: name of the project + Use Case Code + Description of the use case
parent. For example: EPOS-BC-UC01-Create a Direct Purchase.docx

3. Do the Screen Mockup using Pencil, as simple as possible to be showed to the end user.
The website to download this tool is: http://pencil.evolus.vn/en-US/Home.aspx

Important:
Before uploading any artifact (use case specification) in Alfresco, the business analyst should make sure
that the steps described in this section are done accurately.
