PROLOGUE
The world has seen a number of turmoil since last few years. Be it the rising in Tunisia, be it
the protest and subsequent power change in Egypt, be it the Occupy movements in
many western countries, people all around the world have been seeking change. They
were seeking the change in the financial system. They wanted change in the social
system. They wanted change in the political system. One of such revolution was going on
in India in the name of India Against Corruption. With time, the movement transformed
itself into Aam Aadmi Party, a political alternative and startup.

However on one hand when IAC was a media darling, AAP was more or less ridiculed by
both media and the intellectuals, this you would read in few answers in the book. AAP had
to be built with volunteers, and Lakh of volunteers came together to build it. I am one of
the Lakh of AAP volunteer, and have been trying to do my bit to build this startup anticorruption party.

A lot of social media work was done by the AAP volunteers. Most of the work was initially
focused on Facebook. To increase the reach of AAPs messages, AAP volunteers started a
team which focused on trending AAP messages on Twitter. However, I was finding the
shelf life of content on these two SM platforms very less, and around November 2013, I
started writing on Quora. Although the reach of Quora was and still lesser than that of
Facebook and Twitter, I really loved the context control, the Be Nice, Be Respectful
policies. Before I knew, I was chosen to be among the Top Writers of the 2015, and had
reached an audience of more than 4.85 Million across the world.

This eBook is the compilation of my most popular answer on Quora which were written
since November 2013 till recently. It would help you understand the tough path that AAP
took to reach where it is right now. It would also help you clear many doubts about if you
still have any.

I had to release this eBook for free, primarily because it is difficult to sell a book whose
material is already available. So, in case you like what you read and want to send a small
token of appreciation, donate as per your convenience to my account

AAP - The only Economically Right

Wing Party of India
Much has been discussed regarding the ideology or lack of it of the newest party on the block AAP. Although AAP has been maintaining all the time that it has no ideology, many have been
forcing the brand of communist, Marxist, leftist and what not on it. The propaganda to put
AAP in the same league has been quite successful.
And then people are amused that why so many private company employees support AAP!
These supporters are called naive and novice, their intelligence is questioned as, a leftist party
in power would cause all the private sector companies to close down with the government
taking over. It just doesn't make sense for a private sector employee to cut the same branch
on which he is sitting.
You see perception is a very subtle, and still a very powerful tool. When I was in Spain, I asked
a stranger about way to a particular destination. When he replied in crisp English I was
amused. Usually Spanish don't know English and it is only in recent years that they have
started to learn it. Curiously I asked how he knew English and he explained that he in fact
knows many other languages as well, even a little bit of Arabic. I tried my luck and asked if he
knows "Urdu". He panicked, backing away a bit and asked if I am from Pakistan! I was startled
with what reaction the word "Urdu" can have even in Spain.
Another day, I had some work in a bank. The manager asked me where am I from, to which I
replied - India. His eyes glowed with appreciation and asked if I also am a software engineer. I
felt quite good about it.
You see, this is the perception about India and Pakistan at least in Madrid. If you even use the
word 'Urdu', someone might just panic, and if you say you are from India, you get respect. It
doesn't matter if the person knows zilch about you.
A perception is being created that AAP is a leftist party. That it is communist. It is then
stretched even further that AAP is with Maoists. It is then stretched that Maoists (e.g.
Sabyasachi Panda) are joining the AAP ranks, and the busy reader has no time to confirm or
verify the news. A lady tortured, raped by police - Soni Sori, just because she is alleged to be a
Maoist, is given a chance by AAP so that she gets her respectable life back, is not trusted by the
readers because he is just not having enough information about her!
AAP was being more human than communist in giving the election ticket to someone like Soni.
Personally, I believe such people should get a chance.

It is true that communism hurts the private sector. I remember how much I used to frown
upon, seeing the Left wing blackmail the UPA1 government against some good steps it was
taking. I was in fact scared that this Left wing is someday going to get me lose my job. When it
was wiped out in 2009 election, I was relieved that this nuisance is finally gone (turned out
that their absence made the UPA2 government much arrogant and corrupt, but that's another
topic altogether).
If we look back at 1970s, before I was born, Kolkata was doing fine. It was one of the business
hubs of India and growing fine till the Left came into power. Since then, till early 2000s,
Kolkata went into cryogenic deep freeze, and almost nothing changed for a really long time.
During the deep freeze, the new businesses were difficult to start, prices were kept artificially
low, and Kolkata was a metro just for the heck of it. As other metros continued to grow,
Kolkata was lost (in time). Although the left parties ensured that life was OKAY without much
money, the city stagnated badly, very badly. That showed me how bad are left parties for
economic growth.
An important characteristic of left parties is that they don't encourage, in fact they discourage
religion. This is very close with the philosophy of Karl Marx who used to call religion as the
opium for the masses which hinders the growth of the civilization. Most of the communists
don't believe in religion. And hence in India, communism is seen as anti-Hinduism (I wonder
why it is not seen also as anti-Islam; however that's not important here).
What hurt Kolkata was, all the planning went going into the government's hands. And not only
were the hands of the private sector tied, even its mouth was shut. It had no stake in planning.
The babus, strongly controlled by the left politicians, and bullied by the violent CPI-M
workers, did exactly what the communism demanded. This is as per the design of
communism. The private sector has no role in planning, forget PPP.
The communism even abolishes the right to private property. Have a look at China, where for
making a road the locals living there just have to move. They cannot say no. This point is
important. The government becomes more important than even locals.

The AAP government ensured that whoever has water meters would be allowed to have
700Ls of free water per month. However if it goes even to 701L, the person has to pay for all
the 701Ls. AAP government also announced the electricity subsidy which reduced the bills by
50%. Few people have called this a leftist measure. Was it really that?
By the way, have you seen Sicko (2007 movie)? Does it advocate communism?
Water - I was in Chennai for a year or so. We used to get 500L of water every day and that
used to be just enough for the two of us. I cannot imagine how 700Ls would be enough for a
family of 4 or 5 which is an average family size in Delhi. It would be a foolish argument that
11

HOLDING THE LINE

Rohit Prasad Nigam
every home would use just 699Ls. And if someone gets careless and uses 701L, he has to pay
for the full.
The free 700L scheme was smart business, and not communism for me. Here is why:
Every family would be forced to install a water meter to avail the offer.
Every family would try to conserve water below 700L to avail the subsidy.
The poor (lower middle class) would surely save money if they are smart.
The rich, who have to wash their cars, who have bigger houses and thus need more water
to clean it, would have to pay for the full.
See - smart business! Not only would it push water meters, it would also get more money to
the government. Yes, the water rates above 701L were raised and rightly so.
Electricity - Let me guess, you missed this news - Delhi power discoms not cooperating in audit,
CAG tells HC somewhere. TV won't cover it. And from the answer - Sunil Sharma's answer to Can
any Delhi resident testify to the reduction in corruption during Kejriwal's first CM tenure? read this :
A friend of mine who is currently working in finance department of BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd.
told me how they were trying to hide all the documents and make false statements to
provide the fake audits results to CAG.
The power companies have been opposing any CAG audit in their accounts since years and the
Sheila Dixit government backed their stand that CAG audit isn't possible. When the audit was
indeed announced by the AAP government, the companies went to the Delhi high court, and
thrice has the court rapped these companies and they have come back.
Now, suppose your provider is indeed overcharging you, would you be happy to pay that or
till pending enquiry should you be paying what you think is right? This is not about ideology,
this is about common sense. Of course you should not be paying the inflated bills. And that is
exactly what the Delhi government did. The subsidy is only till the audit is complete. That's
not communism.
FDI in Retail - Okay, I love it. But let us see what have been its effects on other countries. Why
don't we start with how has Wal-Mart affected the small businesses in USA itself.
[Business News Daily] What It Really Costs When Wal-Mart Comes to Town
The research shows that the negative impact is due to the use of the Wal-Mart business
model. A new 'generic' grocery store does not equal economic harm, but a new Wal-Mart
does.
[City Lab] Radiating Death: How Wal-Mart Displaces Nearby Small Businesses
"No matter which direction you go from Wal-Mart, there's a very high rate of business closures in the

12

HOLDING THE LINE

Rohit Prasad Nigam
immediate vicinity, and the further away you get there's less and less," says University of Illinois
Chicago economics professor Joe Persky.
[New York Times] Study shows Wal-Mart kills small biz
Instead of growing Chicago's retail economy, Wal-Mart simply overtook it - absorbing sales from
other city stores, and shuttering dozens of them in the process. Researchers at Loyola dubbed WalMarts store a wash - generating no new sales revenue for Chicago, and no new jobs for hard-off
residents.

Small businesses are also businesses. And in a truly capitalist economy, they must get equal
treatment. AAP was correct in stopping FDI in retail in Delhi. And BJP is no different when it
comes to it - Nirmala says no to FDI in multi-brand retail. Do we allege that BJP is communist?
Nope.

I would in fact go on to say that AAP is in fact economically a truly right wing party. Shocker to
you? Okay, let us first revise what is meant by RW in economical terms:
Right-wing politics: Right-wing libertarianism (sometimes known as libertarian conservatism or

conservative libertarianism) supports a decentralized economy based on economic

freedom, and holds property rights, free markets and free trade to be the most important
kinds of freedom.
Taken from Right-libertarianism:
Property rights - While there is debate on whether left, right, and socialist libertarianism
"represent distinct ideologies as opposed to variations on a theme," right-libertarianism is most
in favour of private property. Right-libertarians maintain that unowned natural resources "may
be appropriated by the first person who discovers them (the locals, right?), mixes her labour
with them, or merely claims them without the consent of others, and with little or no payment
to them."
The state - There is a debate amongst right-libertarians as to whether or not the
state is legitimate: while anarcho-capitalists advocate its abolition, minarchists
support minimal states, often referred to as night-watchman states. Minarchists
maintain that the state is necessary for the protection of individuals from
aggression, theft, breach of contract, and fraud. They believe the only legitimate
governmental institutions are the military, police, and courts, though some expand
this list to include fire departments, prisons, and the executive and legislative
branches.
I am focussing only on the economic aspects, and AAP fits perfectly in the above

13

HOLDING THE LINE

Rohit Prasad Nigam
definitions.
What AAP is against is the crony-capitalism. And even the RBI Governor accepts
that crony capitalism is bad for the economic growth of India. Read - Crony
capitalism hampers economic growth. Even BJP leader Ravishankar Prasad wrote in
2012 that 'India is seeing crony capitalism at present'. Also, please read what Arvind
Virmani, who is an Indian economist who was appointed India's representative to
the International Monetary Fund in 2009. Prior to that, who was the Chief Economic
Advisor to the Government of India have to say about crony capitalism - Crony
capitalism or plain corruption?.
Had WhatsApp and Facebook been Indian companies, and then instead of Facebook paying
$19B to buy WhatsApp, it rather would have paid the cronies in political establishment to
amend laws which would have made data messaging illegal :-). But in a truly capitalist society,
you cannot kill small businesses by political means. And AAP is the only political party which
can do that.
The truly capitalistic economies are very strict against any kind of crony capitalism. From
convicting the much celebrated Rajat Gupta in the insider trading case ( Rajat Gupta Convicted of
Insider Trading), to fining Credit Suisse heavily for helping Americans evade taxes ( Credit Suisse
Pleads Guilty, Pays $2.6 Billion To Settle U.S. Tax Evasion Charges), these economies are ruthless.
And they must be. No business must be given undue favours, no business should be protected
if it is indulging in something illegal, or even in unfair practices that may harm young business
(Microsoft hit with $730 million antitrust fine by EU) so that a level playing ground is created
which nurtures entrepreneurship. And only AAP promises that.
Also, the AAP promises to end the inspector raj - Will do away with 'inspector raj', will reduce VAT
in Delhi, promises Arvind Kejriwal. And even when AAP was in the government, it made the VAT
procedures easy - Kejriwal 'simplifies' VAT payments.
So, AAP is for reduction of taxes, it is for simpler taxation procedures, it is against the big
fishes eating the small ones using political power. AAP is turning out to be the most business
friendly political party. During the CII, Arvind Kejriwal neatly explained his economic vision.

But again, it is all about perception. the political opponents of AAP would spread the
propaganda that AAP is leftist. The crony capitalist would fund the propaganda that AAP is
leftist. The corrupts which get the benefit from the current government controlled system
would fan this propaganda.
My advise - Don't fall for the propaganda spread by those who benefit by crony
capitalism. Think yourself as a consumer for your own benefit.

Does Arvind Kejriwal think that all problems will be

solved once the problem of corruption is solved?
What is corruption?
For me the corruption is when the rules which are laid out for proper functioning are not followed so
that a select few individuals get the benefit, and not the ones who are meant to get the benefit.
Defense - Soldiers don't get proper weapons and inventory because the money meant for it gets
siphoned off. For example, the clothes meant for soldiers in Siachen are not up to the mark quality
wise, and inferior clothes are sent, so that people involved in the procurement get the bribes. The net
result is that soldiers are no longer healthy enough in Siachen. (true story told to me by a widow of a
person working in the clothes procurement department).
Weapon Research - The money meant for weapon research is wasted so that the political contacts
get the benefits of weapon imports. India has still not been able to develop a decent Rifle!
Garbage collection - The contractors and the babus in cleaning department siphon off money to
either not provide the cleaning equipments, garbage bins, or provide the ones of inferior quality
which has a very less life.
Job creation - Entrepreneurs are discouraged by the corrupt nexus of politicians and big
industrialists. With the number of new companies being less, the job creation by the private sector
gets hampered.
Food prices - Corruption leads to artificial hike in prices
Justice - The corruption in judiciary hampers the justice which encourages crime. Also, criminal
funded politicians don't try to increase the number of courts which slows down the justice delivery.
Education - With the schools and colleges firmly in the hold of criminal funded politicians, the
school fees etc are very high. Also, to keep the value of private schools high, the corrupt politicians
knowingly not open new government schools, and try to keep the condition of the existing
government schools in a bad shape.
Health - Just like Defense, if there is corruption in procurement, the medicines in government
hospitals won't be present. Just like in Job Creation, the new clinics and hospitals won't be
encouraged unless there's a political connection. And just like in Education, the condition of
government hospitals would be kept bad so that the private hospitals get the benefit.
Housing and Construction - Just watch the movie Well Done Abba. Brilliantly portrayed!
Corruption affects each and every sector if you look closely enough. So yes, Arvind Kejriwal is very
correct when he says that once corruption gets solved a lot of problems will get solved.
Plus, if the corruption gets solved, the loss of government funds in each and every scheme would be
stopped. That would add to the government's earning, for each penny saved is a penny earned.

Is the AAP anti-business?

Due to following facts, I find that Aam Aadmi Party government would be instead business
friendly.
1. Arvind Kejriwal has categorically said that "Government has no business to be in business".
2. Arvind Kejriwal has promised that soon there would be entrepreneur incubators in colleges,
which would fund the start-ups. More and more youngsters nowadays want to start their own
business but due to lack of support from family and government, they are not able to do it. If the
help comes from the government, it would be awesome.
3. No preference to any business family would mean that every company would get a level playing
field. This would lead to the best practices along with excellence being the sole criteria for success.
4. The Tax system would be simplified by Aam Aadmi Party which would reduce the paperwork,
hassles and also the red-tapism. Another benefit would be reduction or removal of any bribes. As the
'cuts' would decrease, the investment for any business ventures would also decrease, that would
increase the profitability.
5. Also, Aam Aadmi Party would give importance and priority to the
infrastructure which supports any industry. Most of the industrial areas in Delhi are cursed with
bad roads, filled with filth and sewage water. Support systems are required to increase the
productivity of any industry. If the output per hour is increased thanks to the increase in
productivity, the net profit would also increase.
Also, please read Arvind's Wharton Address - Economic Policy Section. That should clear some air.
On the whole, Aam Aadmi Party would be boosting not only the existing industries and businesses; it
would also give them a fair chance to succeed. And with more start-ups sprouting in
Delhi, competition would increase and job opportunities would also increase.

Is Aam Aadmi Party more like Linux user group?

There are many similarities and dissimilarities between Linux and AAP
Similarities:
1. Both are public funded
2. Both are transparent/open source
3. Both work on the feedback from the ground.
4. Linux has a stronghold in 'Server' community, as people trust and rely on it.

Dissimilarities
1. Linux is still more used by the elite developer group, where as AAP, is more closely related to
the common man, being the common man's party.
2. The sheer number of volunteers of AAP is way higher than Linux.
3. Aam Aadmi Party has done door to door campaigning. Linux is not going door to door.
4. The rate of rise of Aam Aadmi Party is way higher than that of Linux

Arvind Kejriwal - The CIA Agent!

Arvind Kejriwal has connections not only with CIA, he also has connections with ISI of
Pakistan, KGB of Russia, North Korea (I have his secret photos with North Korean dictator),
the Vatican (his work with Mother Teresa).
Arvind Kejriwal was the guy who while studying in IIT, convinced the IIT directors to start
taking funds from FORD Foundation. If you closely scrutinized the websites of Ford
Foundation, you would notice that huge grants are given to IITs! And if you notice, then
you would find that most IITians indeed leave for USA and work there, building weapons of
mass destruction which can be used against India and other countries.
Arvind Kejriwal has also been seen in the Gotham city and it is a fact that he is trying to
break into the Justice League which would give him access to the secret weapons of the
Wayne Enterprises. Such weapons, Arvind plans to sell to North Korea. However as
Superman is against it, Arvind Kejriwal is closely working with TIFR of Mumbai (which was
funded by KGB), to develop Kryptonite, which would be eventually used to kill Superman.
After Superman is killed, Arvind Kejriwal would be the undisputed leader of Justice League.
After eliminating Batman (Bruce Wayne), Arvind Kejriwal would also have control of the
enormous wealth of Bruce Wayne.
After that the Justice League, CIA, ISI, KGB would mount a full scale war on Gujarat.
Knowing that one Narendra Modi is equal to 10 Supermen, the first weapon that would be
used would be Kryptonite Laser. This laser would be so powerful that the city of Surat
would be destroyed in the matter of seconds; however Narendra Modi would still survive,
thanks to his Social Media TEAM!

lot different. Also, the ways that they have worked have brought different kinds of results:

Subramanian Swamy:

Let us accept it. He has always been a seasoned politician. He started his political career in Janta
Party, from where he was expelled. He was a good friend of Rajiv Gandhi; however there were
allegations that he was involved in the assassination of Rajeev Gandhi! - Subramanian Swamy The

And he was also very close to Chandrasamy. We all know how clean Chandrasamy was!

Afterwards, Subramanian Swami conspired with other parties to pull down the 13 months

Mostly, Dr Swamy has been named in fighting corruption cases. But there is a catch. He was not
fighting them alone. Mostly, he was fighting alongside Prashant Bhushan, who is also known

In December 1999, while still in service with the Income Tax Department, he helped found a

income tax, electricity and food ration matters in parts of Delhi. The Parivartan organization
exposed a fake ration card scam in 2008 ('Change Begins With Small Things' and Page on

Together with Manish Sisodia and Abhinandan Sekhri, Kejriwal established the Public Cause

Kejriwal was the civil society representative member of the committee constituted by the

Overall, I find Arvind Kejriwal has done more against corruption in much lesser time than

How is Modi different from Kejriwal?

Modi promises big and then after coming to the power, gets enlightened by the constraints, political
compulsions, balance sheets and many other excuses. And then takes a graceful U turn, among the
applause of his followers. Check - What are the worst U-turns by BJP after forming the
Government? Read with patience, the list is long!
Arvind Kejriwal promises small, basic, practical things, and then fulfills those promises at a
lightning fast speed. Check Rohit Nigam's answer to Now that the Aam Aadmi Party is in power again
in 2015, what changes have been noticed so far in Delhi?

Modi isn't working on any systematic changes in the governance, is not bringing in accountability,
and is not empowering the people in everyday governance. He believes in the grand old trickle
down system.
After Modi left Gujarat, the state has started to look like any other state, the swine flu has spread
tremendously in the state, so much that even the health minister fell for it.
Arvind Kejriwal on the other hand is working hard to create a system which would continue to
work efficiently even after he has left. The Swaraj and the Jan Lokpal Bills would be introduced
soon.

Modi doesn't like and doesn't want any other authority looking over his shoulder. Whether it is CIC
or CVC or Lokpal, he is just not making any appointments. The RTIs were stalled heavily in
Gujarat when he was the CM and they are starting to pile up when he is the PM.
Arvind believes in transparency. AAP is only the second political party to have RTI, the political
funding is totally transparent, and this has been acknowledged by both UPA2 and NDA
governments.
Modi has been very, very swift in giving reliefs to the corporate which heavily funded his
campaign, and in the same way Arvind has been very, very swift in giving relief to the common
man who funded his campaign.

Is Arvind Kejriwal an idiot for fighting a seeminglylost battle?

Although I am not doing any comparisons, look back at the history on how such people were
treated. Galileo was jailed, Socrates had to drink poison. Most of the humans are not ready for
change, they are scared of what they don't know and understand. They would question any change
1000 times, even though their present condition isn't good at all.
Arvind Kejriwal himself said he wants to remove the current system and install a better one. This
has indeed scared a lot of people. Many because their livelihoods would be affected, and many
because they are made to believe that Arvind is a bearer of Anarchy, not change.
People like us, whose resolve is weak, tend to see people with strong resolve as Idiots.

These are the reasons.
1. Arvind doesn't keep security and is very accessible.
2. BJP/RSS supporters are violent in nature and when they get frustrated they resort to such acts. Has
been happening since January 30, 1948.
3. AAP supporters and AAP doesn't retaliate violently and let the guy go to the police and they don't

What is Arvind Kejriwal made of?

Although a lot of people hate him, abuse him, don't trust him, laugh upon him, I still believe in him.
And the question that you've raised is one of the reasons why I do that.
Pushing your body, rather a sick body to such extremes require more than greed to get publicity or
money. It requires strong discipline, strong will power and most of it all, a strong self-belief.
You need to 200% sure that what you're doing is the right, and perhaps, the only thing to do. When
you're going through a hardship, you WILL feel weak. You WILL feel that it's not worth it. And
when half of the world is laughing upon you, cursing you, spreading lies about you, you will feel
that 'those people' don't deserve your sacrifices.
That's when your inner belief and will power kicks in.
India Today reported that when Arvind was sleeping in 4, he had kept his asthma medicine in his
car, which was out of police cordon. Basically, his meds were out of reach. And he did get a mild
asthma attack at night. When half of the world was cursing, abusing and laughing on him, he was
literally struggling to even breathe oxygen.
But he did survive, didn't he? Thanks to his will power.
The 15 days upwas was rather planned. Arvind had stopped taking diabetes meds since 2 months
and was doing Vipasana every day. He also had a 'test fast' to understand how his body will react.
When things looked under control, he went for it. During the upwas, he had Ayurvedic stomach
cleaning every day. He did have water (this was made Joke by BJP jokers). He spoke little, moved
little, and basically conserved his energy.
Of course it was very tough, but discipline, good planning and will power saw him through.
During the jail stay, Arvind used to spend 6+ hours meditating. Now, meditating not only cools
your mind, it also keeps your body relatively cooler. Your breathe is under control, you don't burn
much food etc. That would've helped AK.
But to do all this, you do need a very strong mind. And AK has it.

My heart would be filled with pride if my kid passes IIT in her first attempt, clears UPSC in her

make India a better place.

But frankly, I am selfish and might not encourage her in this. I am a coward. I cannot see her fasting

am scared if some bullet tears her ribs and explodes in her heart.

I won't like my kid to become Arvind Kejriwal. Rather I would try to do anything and everything so

Why do so many Indians hate the AAP and Arvind

Kejriwal?
A lot of people hate Arvind Kejriwal, because they have been programmed by the media
blackout/non-stop media attacks + the ignorance of media of his good work+ strong social media
attack by the BJP's social media groups.
Let us take one by one:
1. Non Stop Media Attacks:
The Media attacks on the AAP and AK started after the AK leaked the Swiss account numbers of
the Ambanis via press conference in Feb 2013. This was done via a legal notice by the Ambanis.
After this, the news (mostly the good news) on the AAP stopped coming on TV

Hence people didn't get to hear about the ideas that AAP is bringing, the Jan Sabhas, the way AAP
was picking its MLA candidates (it was primaries for the first time in India and nobody didn't even
know to care), people didn't even know about the online funding (they came to know about it later
during the media attack period)
Come October-November and the media is forced to cover all the political parties participating and
hence AAP starts to get some TV coverage. Scared cronies plan to use media to attack AAP. How
do they do it? Fake sting operations: Do read Rohit Nigam's answer to Aam Aadmi Party: Does the
recent expose of Aam Aadmi Party truly show it in poor light? Can someone provide a point by
point rebuttal to the supposed allegations on each party member/candidate covered in the sting
operation? Channel after channel covered this sting operation. And then when AAP came back
with a sound reply, they conveniently missed it. The damage was done indeed.
Then came the opinion polls, exit polls (which started at 5PM, even before the voting was finished)
and all of them stated that AAP would do badly and get just 7-19 seats. The perception was created
in the minds of the voters that AAP was not a popular party and it wasn't clean as well. Yes it did
get 28 seats, however had the media been neutral, it would have easily crossed 35 seats.
Then media started with the outrage - AAP is an irresponsible party, running away from forming
the government. No such outrage was there against the biggest party -BJP, which won 32 seats.
Very convenient, isn't it?
And when AAP did form the government (a minority one, mind you), it was tracked not just on the
daily basis, but sometimes even on the hourly basis. If I have such a boss tracking every hour of
mine, I would surely freak out. Sometimes AAP made mistakes, so media amplified it, the Kharki

incident was used completely against AAP (read - Kr Amar's answer to How do AAP supporters on
Quora feel about Somnath Bharti's midnight raid?). The media was not only highly biased; it went to
do incorrect reporting to take down the Delhi Law Minister. Yes, more damage was done.
Ever played the game of putting misleading headlines? Here are two examples:
1. Headlines: 'Most wanted' Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda joins AAP: Report
News Details: Nishikanta Mohapatra also told reporters, "We are not opposed to anyone joining
the party as long as someone willing to operate within our constitutional framework. The law will
have to take its own course but before that he (Sabyasachi) would have to be tried in a court of
law"
Final Truth: That Maoist didn't join AAP as AAP refused!
2. Healines: AAP ticket for ex-officer who reversed Khemka orders - The Times of India
News Details:
In Rozka-Gujar, Khemka had stopped the consolidation process of 5,744 acres stating that not a square
inch had been cultivated for a long time as it was fallow. He had added that no one lived in the village
any more.
However Khyalia revoked both orders in 2013. Sources said that activists are planning to challenge
Khyalia's orders before the National Green Tribunal. "In Kot, the state government had initiated the
consolidation process, which I stopped later," said Khyalia. "After an enquiry, I had echoed Khemka's
decision."
He however was not aware about the Rozka Gujar case. "Such cases are routine in the consolidation
department where the process is notified or de-notified because of prevailing circumstances," Khyalia
added.
Khyalia had stood by Khemka's order on the Vadra-DLF land deal. He had told the Haryana
government that the basis of Khemka's decision to cancel the mutation was correct.
Final Truth: Khyaliya reversed some order of Khemka, but not that related to Vadra! The Headline
was set up to misguide people.

More such incidents were incorrectly reported by the media. The perception was being created that
the AAP government is failing badly. The reality was something else. Read the answers to the
questions (check the votes as well) Can any Delhi resident testify to the reduction in corruption during
Kejriwal's first CM tenure? Delhi people loved it! But media wasn't. Any guesses why ?

Then came the question of validity of the way Janlokpal bill could be introduced. Check this video:

It was constitutional, and it was not even allowed to be tabled to the assembly. BJP and Congress
jointly voted against it. Yes, the same parties on which this was said by Delhi HC: BJP, Congress
flouted foreign funding norms: Delhi HC (no TV debates on this one? Surprise surprise!) Two
foreign funded parties jointly voted against a strong anti corruption bill which would have
ensured the government which was fixing corruption would fall down. That is the truth.
And people were taught - AAP ran away. Even more damage done.
Plus, media never discussed about these things:
Arvind Kejriwal resigns, calls for fresh elections in Delhi
AAP moves Supreme Court against Presidents rule in Delhi
Why Supreme Court thinks BJP, Congress can govern Delhi together
Can you form government together in Delhi, SC asks Congress, BJP
SC gives two weeks to BJP, Congress to respond on Delhi govt formation
SC issues notices to Cong, BJP on AAP plea seeking Delhi re-election

I will skip the 2014 elections now or the answer would be way to long. Jumping to now.
AAP MLAs have been doing the Mohalla Sabhas - no coverage. But the AVAM guys (which are
basically Congress sponsored moles) get to be on TV. Wow!

At a Muslim function, some guy asked:

"We are 18 crore, what are you going to do for us ? "
Arvind replied... "We are not 18 crore.. we are 121 crore."
This is what is called as uniting people. And people call Arvind Fake Secular, Anti Hindu and what not.
Wow! It takes courage to say what AK said. But the propaganda never stops, does it?

There are dozens and dozens of such examples were the good of not shown to people, the bad was
created to destroy the image of AAP. Most people are not on Twitter, then don't follow Social
Media and of course if a lie is shown day in day out, people will start to believe it. People will start
to hate AAP. They are only being human.
Finally, icing on the cake - Reliance took over Network 18 to ensure AAP is no longer covered
even the way it was being covered Reliance is telling CNN IBN journalists how to cover the Aam Aadmi Party
Inside the Network18 takeover
Manoj Modi, the right-hand man of Mukesh Ambani, reached out to Bahl. Modi was furious. He was

Why would CIA, who killed Osama, support Islamic separatists?
Doesn't make sense, does it? These three sets do not intersect. It is impossible for some entity to cover
all three as these three hate each other to the core.
But we do believe it, sigh.
There is no end to the allegations that BJP's Social Media cell gives out from WhatsApp and Facebook
group. They have already termed AAP anti-Hindu and worst - people have believed it. You know, you
can easily pull Hindus (or people form any religion) to your side by propagating that Hinduism is in

They didn't want it in retail since day one, they are still on the same page. BJP first liked it, then hated it,
then liked .. gosh ... but they cover this very well.
But this is no excuse to AAP. If it has to perform well in Indian politics, it should learn these tricks, or
at least the tricks to counter these tricks. People are gullible. Indians mostly vote with t heir hearts, not
with their brain. AAP has to touch the hearts, explain the reality, be in sync and be concise and direct
(yeah, my answer wasn't concise, sigh, but had to explain a lot!)
Anyone who is standing against the system which is corrupt to core, would be vilified, his character
would be assassinated; he would be called a villain by the system. Of course the system is big, powerful

system.

Can India change for better without political power

in the hands of good people? If not then why many
hate AAP for entering politics?
The people holding the status quo (of power, corruption, loot) are very very power people. It was a bit
naive of Indians to think that they would come on the roads and would get a very strong anti-corruption
bill passed for them. The current setup in Indian administration is since the time of the Britishers. The
IPC and CrPC are from 1860. The Indian babus are not answerable and accountable to the common man
and even after the attempts of even Indian Prime Ministers, this has not changed.
The real reason the Janlokpal Movement was launched was to give advantage to BJP and destruction of
the image of Congress. No, I am not defending Congress, they are badly corrupt, however to think that
BJP are any better and they would introduce any path-breaking reforms in the Indian system would be
foolishness.
However the planners of the Janlokpal movement didn't anticipate that a new political party would be
created out of this movement. Kiran Bedi, Anna Hazare, General VK Singh (Retd), and many more
severely criticized Arvind Kejriwal for starting a new party. There was a strong propaganda spread that
Arvind Kejriwal has cheated Anna Hazare, however nothing of this sort was said when Anna
did marketing for TMC, or when Kiran became a BJP mouthpiece or when General VK Singh
(Retd) joined BJP. There was a stunning silence.
Here the General requests IAC to give alternate politics to India. Tell me, is BJP alternate politics?
And then he said Won't join BJP, am with Anna Hazare: former army chief General VK Singh. Good
that he is not our Defense Minister.
Ready to be BJPs Delhi chief minister candidate says Kiran Bedi and this is the same lady who wasn't
happy with IAC getting converted to AAP and who was nitpicking against the AAP government. I am
very happy that Kiran never became Delhi CM and Anna failed in making TMC strong in Delhi.

The hate for AAP was way before AAP attacked Modi on different things. I have been following
many RSS and BJP mouthpieces since 2011 and they all hated Arvind Kejriwal and the idea of
AAP since then. The hate didn't start after AAP's attack on Modi, only that Modi could play a
victim's card when he was attacked (and rightly so).
Modi is an authoritarian, he hates RTI, he hates the idea of ombudsman and he would surely
hate CAG (within a month he said that CAG should not be used for political purposes, forgetting
BJP's own past of doing the same).
AAP is the best political party in India, not only it is totally crowd funded ( AAP's foreign funding

be foreign funded (Delhi HC finds BJP, Congress guilty of taking foreign funding).

There was a thought spread that Arvind Kejriwal should have stayed an activist and should not
have enetered politics. Don't tell me you never heard some BJP guy saying this or writing a tweet
on this. Then they say that AK ditched Anna and formed the political party. The statement
by Modi that "Anna ko dhokha diya" was on the same lines. Really? Let us go back the history
lanes Anna Hazare ends fast; his team to join politics, asks public to name it
Should Team Anna join politics?
Team Anna's decision to enter politics evokes mixed response - The Times of India
Ready to enter battlefield of politics, not hungry for power: Anna
Anna Hazare and Team's announcement to enter politics...
I can give a lot of more links, however the point is there was a U-Turn from the Anna's standpoint and
not that of Arvind's. The truth is Anna ditched all those who asked Team Anna and IAC to join politics,
and Arvind always followed what his supporters wanted him to do.
Was TMC the Alternative Politics?
Good that this alliance fell at the first hurdle.
For all those who say that AAP has not been a good political party, I would like to ask them where were
they when AAP volunteers were wrongfully held in the police station, beaten, tortured, only because
they wanted a FIR to be written for a gang rape case? Where were they when Delhi Police accused
AAP volunteers caused the death of Constable Tomar? Where were they when Anuranjhan Jha and
India News had a low level fake sting on the AAP leaders, which led to just nothing? Where were they
when Reliance had put a 9 month media blackout on AAP?
I still hear the utter stupid allegations that Jindal funds AAP! Yes, one Jindal from Bangalore donated
money to IAC, but that is not Navin Jindal, for god's sake! Reminds me of the old game "Ashwatthama has died" from Mahabharat. They spread the photo of Navin Jindal shaking hands with

latest attack by media being about the Cover Page Photo of AAP ( Rohit Nigam's answer to What is
wrong with this image uploaded by the AAP as the cover photo of its Facebook ? )
90% of allegations on AAP are stupid, baseless and manufactured; still they find the prime time.
The issues like the foreign funding of BJP and Congress are swept under the carpet. Ever wondered
why?
Yes, the reason is the status-quoists, the real powerful people, the ones who pull the strings, don't
want the status-quo to change. They want the AAP to perish; they want Arvind Kejriwal to
become irrelevant, they want to set an example of AAP so that never ever such a people funded
political initiative to come up. And if such a thing happens, India would never become a developed
democratic country.

My answer above was to cater to the audience who wonder why AAP has been hated by many since its
inception. That was the original question asked. However, many have come back saying that the hate of
AAP started after they 'ran away' from the governance. Now I am compelled to explain how statusquoists have created that impression using a well oiled propaganda machine.
Let us go back to 8th December 2013. The results were out:
BJP and SAD = 32 Seats
AAP = 28 Seats
Congress = 8 Seats (Ah! lovely, isn't it)
Which is the single largest alliance? NDA, of course. Common Sense.
Who should have tried to form a government? NDA, of course. Might have been a minority
government, however this has been the tradition, and of course NDA should have attempted to form a
government, and checked if they get the largest votes, in case few MLAs of other parties abstain.
Who was blamed for being irresponsible? AAP!
Surprise, surprise. The party with 28 seats was being blamed by BJP for being responsible. While BJP
ran away from forming the government.
And Indians bought that. This is the beauty of a well oiled propaganda machine which is supported even
by Media.
So Congress gave unconditional support to AAP even before AAP asking for it, and BJP cornered AAP
for 'running away' from forming the government, media added the fuel to fire, and gullible Indians
bought that. Suddenly AAP is the culprit for not forming the government. BJP chuckles away.
Then ... AAP asked the Delhi people, should they be forming the government or not. There was a huge

discussion on Quora as well - Should Aam Aadmi Party form a minority government in Delhi? At both
places AAP is told by majority to form the minority government. AAP sends the letter seeking support
to 19 points to BOTH Congress and BJP. BJP doesn't give support to those points (why not? ok, nobody
bothers about this minute detail) and Congress does.
Now, AAP went ahead with forming the government, and voila, as per BJP it was now a B-Team of
Congress. Media added the fuel to fire, and gullible Indians bought even this.
From being an irresponsible party, AAP became a B-Team of Congress, but no one is able to see the
game. Fine.
AAP did exceptionally well in governance, fulfils all its promises. The corruption went down. Read Can
any Delhi resident testify to the reduction in corruption during Kejriwal's first CM tenure? Then, AAP
made a mistake; it resigned over the Janlokpal bill. The bill was important to remove the institutional
corruption, however its introduction to the assembly was blocked by both BJP and Congress. They
said "We 40 won't let this bill to be tabled to the assembly".
We 40.
"Not Tabled".
There was no voting if the bill could be passed, there was no voting if the bill was correct or not. The
introduction of the bill was blocked.
And the media looked the other way. Had AAP explained the minute detail above, explained and then
resigned, it would have been better, but AAP, being an amateur in politics, didn't think through it, and
resigned. This was enough ammunition for the status-quoists to attack AAP day in day out, and it never
stopped. Abuses like "Bhagoda" were a hit. In each and every debate it was said that AAP ran away.
And then the worst happened, the corruption resurged in Delhi, and the voters of Delhi felt bad, very
bad. They loved the governance of AAP, and they were missing it. Media filled the void of
miscommunication from AAP and suddenly AAP were a villain for resigning on the moral grounds.
It was perhaps the only instance in the history of India when voters were angry that a government
had resigned.

How many debates on TIMES NOW, Headlines Today, ABP News, AAJ TAK, Zee News, India TV,
etc happened on this before the national elections? Zilch. 0
Who has been running away from the Delhi reelections? BJP and Congress.
Why? To ensure Delhi voters suffer the lack of a government which makes AAP a further villain.
Why Media didn't cover the above news items? To add fuel to fire of Bhagoda tag on Arvind Kejriwal.
AAP always wanted a quick reelection, to come back strongly in Delhi with a complete majority.
However, as I write, the reelection in Delhi still looks to be a bridge too far. Who is blocking
reelection? BJP Government at Center. Who is running away? BJP.
It is amazing how people have been made to believe that a minority government should have served
them for 5 years, ignoring the very meaning of a minority government which can fall any time.
However, 32 < 28, isn't it?

Why Aam Aadmi Party supporters are called

AAPtards by supporters of other political parties?
AAP supporters have given a tough time for BJP's online and offline team with their dedicated
work. This has really irritated and frustrated BJP. Delhi BJP, with 31+1 seats was still unable to
form a government thanks to the awareness created by AAP supporters.
Out of irritation, BJP supporters have started to abuse dedicated AAP volunteers as AAPtards.
This abuse is just frustration getting converted to abuse, nothing else. Don't bother.

Why is the media largely anti-AAP?

Media, like any industry, needs funds to survive. Also, there are many channels which are funded by
politicians. The ones which are trying to stay neutral are being arm twisted. Of course, few indulged in
unethical practices and became stooges of politicians. Check these news links
Jindal plays clips to show Zee 'blackmail'

Few examples of channels having heavy investments from politicians are - India News (Uncle of Manu

Minister), India TV (Rajat Sharma was in ABVP and secretary to Vijay Goel).
If your work is going to affect the status quo, and might harm the revenues of the politicians, then media
would hound you. The path of truth isn't easy. But one would have to walk on it.

Why was Kejriwal heavily criticized for a swearing-in

but no one is against the expenses in the swearing

It is just sad. The point is perception. People have been fed day in day out that AK is a drama
queen/king. Media is showing him as a nuisance and what not.
In contrast, Modi has done exceptional marketing. Media is happy with him because of the
advertisement he has given (every day front page ad - remember?).
Money rules my friend, Sir. Perception matters. Standing up for your principles makes you a fool.
People judge you as per their own experience and the things that they have been told.
Double standard? No, a lot of people would be really happy if the ideas of AAP and then AAP is
destroyed. They would be happy that such anti-corruption party is never formed ever again! They would
be happy if people's anti congress energy gets diverted to take down AAP !
Has AAP looted, killed, done any scam? No! But now they are the enemy number one of many Indians.
The same Indians for whom they are fighting for. Perception matters. If Indians now think that the AAP
and AK are bad for them, then no matter what good AAP and AK does, it won't be appreciated or
respected.
An advice for you, keep calm, tolerate and wait. Don't let such hypocrisy bother you. Keep working for

The fact is no news channel favors AK and AAP, and that should remain like this. The day any news

The image below shows how the Times Now twisted everything that Yogendra Yadav (social
scientist)/Arvind Kejriwal said and created a false sensation, due to which a lot of Indians were
emotionally hurt. Hurt that AAP has come down to appeasement of the Khap Panchayats, which, in fact,
was not true!

I also saw the debate in which Professor Anand Kumar had come. There were few things that I
observed:
1. The volume of the microphone of the Professor was very low compared to the other
panelists. Might be an innocent mistake.
2. Arnab was not allowing to finish any statement of the Professor, which was changing the
meaning of it totally. For example, Arnab said that Professor termed Dowry, and other evils
which are inherent to the Indian society. What Professor was saying (I could hear the last part
faintly) that Dowry and other evils of our society should be COUNTERED.
3. Arnab and other panelists were getting down to plain bullying. Everyone was speaking out of
their turns and Professor was not allowed to even speak.

which do not hurt the Indians. There was this tweet floating around, and the guy was proven right by

Is 2G scam more relevant than the house (not a bunglow, 5BHK Type 6 is not a bunglow) in which

These judges are usually journalists paid by the other parties so they create a perception. Other

So the above people have their own direct benefit. But then there's the viewer/reader. Reading this
negativity about Arvind gives him a sense of satisfaction that he is better than the 'so called hero'

Why is the Aam Aadmi party giving tickets to rioters

like Amanatullah Khan who is accused of the
provocative poster case in Delhi?
How does Amanatullah Khan become a rioter when there was no riot? Beats me. Rather, Khan was
instrumental in keeping the peace in the area
AAP's Okhla leader, Amanatullah Khan, a real secular hero
First Amanatullah Khan himself had appeared before the police after the posters incident and on
investigation, the police did not find anything inflammatory in the posters. The posters in fact were
on the topics of water and electricity needs of people and Khan was therefore released by the police.
During the time when there was communal tension in Trilokpuri area, some miscreants tried to
disturb peace in Madanpur Khadar area by putting dead animal parts in a mosque. On hearing of
the incident, Khan immediately went there, got the mosque cleaned, met with Muslims of the area
and advised them to not let this cause any communal flare-up.
Arvind asked when Khan admitted that he had put up the posters, then why was Dilip arrested. He didn't
say that the posters were inciting, or that Khan was guilty.
Not sure which BJP leader are you referring to here, however AAP is born in India and Indians would
join it. I am a 3 time BJP voter, now an AAP supporter. Same way many BJP leaders have joined AAP.
That is okay!
What is not okay is AAP giving tickets to BJP leaders who joined only after getting assurance of ticket.
This is a mistake that AAP is making and in future it can pay heavy price for it. AAP must not support
and promote future Vinod Kuma Binny's.
I personally raise the episode of Fateh Singh getting the ticket, and the response was - he is a clean and
winnable candidate. They might very well be right, however AAP volunteers aren't happy about it and
are keeping the pressure high so that such instances reduce.
In LS there were 200 parachute candidates and in Delhi elections there might be 8-10. However,
personally I believe that if this is not reduced, it would harm AAP a lot.

Can someone provide a point by point rebuttal to

the supposed allegations on each party
member/candidate covered in the sting operation by
India News?
I would like to answer your question by answering each so called 'exposes' one by one.
1. Kumar Vishwas: He took cash of Rs10,000/- and gave a receipt. This cash transaction was
done for a performance. There is nothing illegal here.
2. Shazia Ilmi: She kept refusing to demonstrate without any legal documents even though
the reporter was pestering her. The reporter offered 10(units) in cheque and 15(units) of
cash to her. This (unit) was assumed to be of thousands; however the media has converted
that (unit) to Lakh.
Shazia also said that for 15 (units) of cash, receipt would be coming from the AAP head
office. Looks like her only offense is that she didn't keep on repeating this and said this can
be adjusted in the volunteer's salary.
Again, legally, any donation to any political party of <=20,000 is OKAY, but then Shazia
has earlier promised of receipt anyways.
3. Rest of them: All of them said that they would love to help in the property dispute
however, given the constraints of the election, they cannot do it right now. Any sane person
would have said the same. No one even said a word about accepting cash donations.
4. Arvind's SMS: The person who wanted to be the AAP candidate but couldn't get it was
obviously upset and he himself showed the SMS which he sent to Arvind
Kejriwal accusing him and asking him how much money he took to sell the seat. That was
only one of the SMSes that he showed and nobody knows which other SMSes he sent.
The SMS of AK (let us assume that for the sake of argument as his number does have those
last 4 digits), said "Rs 2 Crore" and knowing AK, this SMS was plain sarcastic to shut the
pestering of that lost candidate nominee.

When someone donates crores to AAP they feel ok;

when some businessman donates to BJP why AAP
makes an issue?
As AAP claims Ambani Adani donating to BJP; why there is so much noise even if they are
donating. Even after their donations the central govt is not discounting on penalties imposed on
them. And moreover you can get PAN, bank account and every detail of Ambani or Adani from
their returns. Why AAP thinks that it is ok only when some businessman donates to AAP?
Got from the news last year, BJP got around 3500 cr from "One Note One Vote" scheme.
BJP is the first party with online and transparent donations. Why AAP claims that they are the
one with transparent donations?

You know that Vikram Lal donated to AAP, how much he donated, when he donated. You have the
transaction numbers, you get hence get the bank details and you can get his PAN card number, now
you can get his Income Tax details for this year and for the years before. You can also get the
details of all his companies, his prior employment details as well.
You can scrutinize each and every penny, each and every transaction and each and every property
of Mr Vikram Lal today, and you can keep a watch on him from hence forth as well.
So tomorrow, if AAP forms the government then you can keep a check on Mr. Vikram Lal of any
unusual gains that he is getting and this screenshot that you provided would be a proof in the court
of law.
That is the power of transparent funding. Because the funding is transparent, because even you have
71

all the details (more if you pursue).
On the other hand, 80-90% of funding of BJP and Congress isn't declared so you just have no
starting point. Tomorrow if there is any quid-pro-quo, you won't be able to prove anything for the
lack of evidence. This encourages corruption, if not causes it.

The problem with opaque funding is far worse than just crony capitalism. The money which is
coming can be black money, can be hawala money, can be money from even terrorists. There is no
way to track it at all, and this encourages various crimes. About the Ambanis, no one knows how
much have they donated. About the One Vote, One Notescheme, how can anyone trust the figure of
Rs 3,500 Crore unless the record books say so. When it comes to AAP, you can, because it is on
your face. The fact that OP had all the transaction details of Vikram Lal, means that even he trusts
the transparent funding of AAP!
I fail to understand why such a simple technology is not being implemented by BJP. Just have a
stupid donation list page, keep it up to date, shut these silly debates and move on! I don't care that
laws don't force that, why not take an initiative?

What's the AAP response to the midnight funding

allegation?
As far as I know, the transactions took place in April 2014. Please correct me over here if I am
wrong.
Every company has to have a Current Bank Account, and should be registered. It is the
responsibility of the bank to verify the company, and they usually do this on their own, and on the
basis of the documents provided by the Government of India.
The company is registered after the Government of India has properly scrutinised it. Also, a TIN
number is issued to the company, after the Income Tax department does the usual enquiry.
Hence, if the company is bogus, then the Government of India, the bank and the Income Tax
department, all are the responsible parties. As the payment to AAP was made through a cheque and
not cash, plus with the donation was listed by AAP on its website, AAP cannot be said as hiding
information at all.
Let's accept one fact. The BJP trusts the AAP donation page so much, that they started the
investigation of the AAP funding from the very same page. The AAP donation page is indeed
correct.
Regarding the midnight funding allegation, it is totally laughable. Any software engineer would
know that the data consolidation usually happens via midnight batch jobs, the jobs which take the
data from different systems, do basic sanity checks, upload the consolidated data to the database,
and send it to the reporting system. The midnight time is chosen as the traffic is usually much
lesser.
The cheques maybe of anytime, however their entries would reflect only when the nightly batch job
runs, which is in this particular case.
The only loophole here is that why AAP accepted the cheques at the first place. Now, as per the
policy of AAP, any donation above 10L has to be scrutinized by the PAC of AAP. In this process
they usually ensure to have the confirmation that the donor is not demanding any quid-pro-quo and
the donor is okay with listing his details on the website. The PAC doesn't double check the account
books of the donor party.
It is the responsibility of the Government of India (I guess Enforcement Directorate) to check such
companies and reach the truth, which I hope they do. AAP has nothing to do with it.

Lately Shazia has been behaving really immaturely and foolishly.
1. She tweeted that she supports Communal Violence Bill, and then went back. What was the
need to open her mouth on such a sensitive matter unless there is a clear consensus in AAP?
2. She said Transparency International has said corruption in Delhi has decreased. In reality, an
ex-employee of Transparency International had done this survey that corruption had
decreased. The report might be correct, but she should have been more careful.
3. She refused to fight against Sonia Gandhi. This really pissed off a lot of AAP volunteers and
even Kumar Vishwas.
4. She talked very casually regarding so called salaries of AAP volunteers. Hello! AAP has 2
Lakh volunteers across India. Perhaps even more! There might be few AAP office guys who
are given the salary but why are you putting a doubt about rest of the AAP volunteers?
5. Muslims must be Communal - The most idiotic use of Sarcasm. When you are surrounded
by ex Congress voters, is this the language you should be using? Any chap can record your
statements, twist and post them. Then AAP volunteers are left to defend her and explain the
stance. It was good that AAP leadership and volunteers seriously reprimanded her for this.
6. And now this - Breaking the queue (not sure if she went to vote) and was wearing the AAP

What are people's views on Shazia Ilmi's exposure

of fraudulent funding of the AAP?
She said that AAP uses the same no of receipt to many donors,i.e,if 5 people are donating different
amounts then they all will given same receipt no and the only one of them goes to records
All the receipt IDs that are having this particular problem have two properties:
1. The date of transaction is prior to November 2013
2. They all start with CCA
Anyone who has done online transactions, paid bills online using the CCAvenue portal knows that
the order numbers generated from the ccavenue start with CCA. Hence the receipt numbers that are
being talked about here are not the ones provided by the AAP software, but the AAP software was
just forwarding the order numbers generated at the CCAvenue end.

There was a bug in the CCAvenue end which caused the generation of duplicate
order IDs.
Now, if you look at the AAP's donation list page at Donation List, you would find that AAP has
stopped using the CCAvenue order IDs as the receipt number, and has rather providing its own,
starting with NE, MO, etc.
Shazia, perhaps being a non technical person took this as a case of fraudulent funding, and her
observation is incorrect. It was just a technical bug at the third party software which caused this, of
course you can say that there was a major design flaw in the AAP's software which took liberty in
using a key generated by third party and giving it to the client.

Her allegation still isn't right. She says - "AAP uses the same no of receipt to many donors,i.e,if 5
people are donating different amounts then they all will given same receipt no and the only one of them
goes to records".
What really happened was that if there were 5 people donating money, all of them were going to
records with the same receipt number. There was duplication of the data of one field, not that 4
records went missing!

Things aren't so simple my friend. For starter, let us revisit what he said - "Investigation is the only

He is right when he said that. Let us also revisit how brands reacted when there was illogical sale
online Flipkart's Big Billion Day Sale angers Samsung, Sony and other tech giants over 'rock-bottom'

Brands Too Angry With Flipkarts Big Billion Day Sale. May Take Legal Action For Predatory
Pricing
The problem is predatory pricing. What is predatory pricing? As per wiki at Predatory pricing, it is
defined as
Predatory pricing (also undercutting) is a pricing strategy where a product or service is set at a very
low price, intending to drive competitors out of the market, or create barriers to entry for potential new
competitors. If competitors or potential competitors cannot sustain equal or lower prices without losing
money, they go out of business or choose not to enter the business. The predatory merchant then has
fewer competitors or is even a de facto monopoly.
Do go through the paper on Justice[.]Gov website - Predatory Pricing Strategic Theory and Legal Policy
This problem is not confined only to India, it is infact raising concerns worldwide -Amazon's 'predatory
pricing' questioned.
"What's happening with Amazon is that they're taking advantage and trying to break some rules in order
to win this 'winner take all' game," Bob Kohn, founder ofEMusic.com, told "Squawk Box."
"Eventually they're going to try to charge more, but when you have 90 percent of the market and you go

Also, please read what the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION has to say about the Predatory Pricing Predatory or Below-Cost Pricing which takes a more neutral stand.
The only fault of Arvind Kejriwal is that, he uses very, very simple language. And the reason he does
that is it to connect with the commoners. He knows that most of the people won't understand a little
more complex terms like 'Predatory Pricing', and hence he calls it a scam.

What is missing in India are perhaps the strong anti-trust laws which protect the consumers from hawks
who want to monopolies the market. What if the small retailers and even small e-retailers are knocked
off the RADAR and only bigger one stay? What if tomorrow the baniya next door has to close his shop
because he just cannot compete with humungous e-retailers who can afford to take losses for few years,
only to ensure that the baniya next door leaves the market?
After few years, there would be monopoly and you would be forced to buy goods from the big
companies at whatever price that they choose to sell it to you. This according to Arvind, is the scam
(technically not a scam, because in India there are no such laws to call this a scam).
The Investopedia says the same at Predatory Pricing Definition | Investopedia
In the short term, a price war can be beneficial for consumers because of the lower prices. In the long
term, however, it is not beneficial as the company that wins a price war, effectively putting its
competitor out of business, will have a monopoly where it can set whatever price it wants.
So please, be a smart consumer!

Why is AAP collecting Rs. 2611 on November 26th,

which is Memorial Day? What is the significance of
this day?
The uninformed anonymous OP has no idea about the historical importance of 26/11. It was this
day on 1949 when the constitution of India was adopted. Now this is way before the 26/11 attacks
and the attacks cannot diminish the importance of the day. That's why AAP chose this day to
officially found the party - to give respect to the Indian constitution.
References:
Constitution of India
26th November 1949: The Constitution of India was adopted
Constitution of India
During the 26/11 attacks one commando - Surinder Singh lost his hearing ability partially and had to
retire. However his pension got stuck in red tape. He ran from pillar to post, he was seeking help from
all political parties, be it Congress or so called nationalistic BJP. All gave him only lip service.
At that time IAC helped him and het started receiving his pension. This is how Arvind Kejriwal helped
a 26/11 hero. But that was not the end of it. When AAP was eventually formed and fought the Delhi
election, he was given ticket from Delhi cantonment, and he became MLA!
The conspiracy theories that AAP is disrespecting the 26/11 are a product of sick and demented minds.
They should rather spend their energies to ensure the much awaited good quality bullet proof jackets
reach the Mumbai police, the lack of which caused the death of Hemant Karkare.

Why is AAP spreading a notion that BJP took money

from DOW Chemicals?
Is there any proof of it? Is the objective of the Party formation being defeated in 1 year, by engaging
in Negative Politics which can boomerang to AAP?
What Aam Aadmi Party is trying to do over here is to push for a donation reforms in Political Arena.
As BJP returned the money it received from DOW chemicals, without checking properly that it was
indeed a foreign subsidiary, it is more apparent that there are loopholes in the donation system in
BJP.
It was commendable that BJP returned the money. However if we look through the dates of the
events, we would have to raise our eyebrows:
1. The donation from the DOW chemicals was received in the financial year of 2006-2007. See the
image below which is taken from the submission of BJP to the Election commission:

Hence it is clear that BJP returned the money only after the controversy was raised, and it was not

It is very proper for Aam Aadmi Party to raise this issue. We need to move towards 100%
transparent funding to political parties and such criticism is welcome as it creates ample pressure
for it.

Is Arvind Kejriwal right in supporting Mother Teresa?

I am not able to understand one basic fact - If the basic motto of Mother Teresa was religious
conversion, why are Christians still a minority in Kolkata? At the 2001 census, there were 515,150
Christians in West Bengal, or 0.6% of the population.
So basically, even though she failed in spreading Christianity, she still wasted her life living in the
sickest and dirtiest places in Kolkata, away from her home. That doesn't make any sense to me at
all.
Also, it was uncalled for to attack Mother Teresa. I have no idea what RSS wanted to achieve by
saying this.
Yes AK was right in supporting Mother Teresa. Even Kiran Bedi supported her.

I was lately thinking why did Mohan Bhagwat said what he said. Then the timing of the issue struck
me - Differences over Article 370, AFSPA ironed out, BJP, PDP seal J&K deal. I can confidently say
that the statement by Mohan Bhagwat was infact a diversion to stoke the Hindutva feelings among
the core BJP supporters and keep them with BJP.
This statement by RSS is rather a very smart smokescreen to cover up the dirty power politics being
played by BJP in J&K.

AAP should not bounce back. AAP must crawl back. Inch by inch, step by step. Every step must be
painful, and must be filled with hurdles.
I am not a critic of AAP, I love AAP. However, now that the original energy of the Janlokpal
movement is lost, AAP can rediscover itself only through pain and discipline. AAP has to
understand how political parties start, how tough it is, and how precious each rupee, each volunteer
and each moment is.
AAP went gung ho after Delhi election result and took too many risks, with hardly any backup plan.
It tried to jump too far, landed on the knee instead of the foot and broke its leg.
Lesson learnt. Now, only take calculated risks and always have a fallback plan.
Each penny donate is precious. Every moment is precious and every volunteer is pricesless. Don't
take them for granted and never waste them.
AAP can come up again. But how it comes up again will decide how strong is its character and how
deep are its roots.

What would happen if every member of the AAP left

the party and went back to their earlier jobs?
I am a very strong AAP supporter. You can see that from the answers I have written lately. After
the miserable performance of AAP in LS election, especially from Delhi, I was shocked, depressed.
Perhaps, I am still a little depressed. However we would need to analyze the situation more closely.
Although BJP's campaign worked, it worked because of 12 years of hard work by Modi. You may
like him or not, but in 2002, he was almost done and dusted. Shri Vajpayee wanted him sacked,
media wanted his blood and Congress wanted to make an example of him. If you compare his
situation then to Arvind's now, he was perhaps in a much worse situation.
However, somehow, he escaped, he retained the CM seat and then never looked back. He did make
Gujarat much better and that is perhaps the only reason why most of the voters voted for him. Now,
he was not so strong even in his own party, but he kept on slogging. Advani, Sushma and company
were totally against him but step by step, he did manage to become Prime Ministerial candidate and
turned this election to a Presidential form of election.
People have neither voted for BJP, nor voted for Modi. They have voted for hope. AAP didn't get
enough votes and seats because it was not seen as mature, stable and smooth party.
Had AK not resigned as CM and had AAP fought from only 100 urban seats, AAP would have got
much more seats for sure. Plus, as Congress would anyway had been routed, they would have been
forced to give support to AAP in Delhi assembly. But that didn't happen, forget it. Throw away the
sour grapes.
Now what? Close the party and go home (or office)?
Just as Modi gives hope, believe it or not, AAP also gives hope. People are angry on AAP but they
would again vote for AAP if AAP shows resilience, patience and persistence. AAP needs to give
some results and yes, showcase those results nicely and AAP should do good propaganda.
What was AAP shouting all along in the LS election?
BJP is bad; Congress is bad, vote for us.
We would finish BJP and Congress, vote for us.
We would start a new type of politics but for that destruction of BJP and Congress is required,
vote for us.
Ambani, Adani, vote for us.

Right now AAP should ignore BJP and Congress. AAP has very less funds, not many volunteers

has some power.
Keep the flame of Hope burning. The BJP government might or might not make mistakes, forget it BJD, AIADMK, TMC and Congress would make enough noise. AAP has to keep on working

Should Arvind Kejriwal become the Chief Minister of

Delhi again? Why or why not?
AK as CM and Modi as PM would be some competition that would at the end benefit the whole
India.
And this AAP-BJP rivalry would carry on for another 5 years, which would force both parties to
change for better.

I received a comment by Abhishek Mishra - "Please emphasize on "why"???". So here goes nothing.
Why is AK4CM and Modi4PM so important?
Narendra Modi has got a superbly strong mandate and has got a very free hand to do what he wants
to do for India. Such a historic mandate has perhaps been given to a political party in India only
after 1984, in which Congress swept in with 400+ seats due to the sympathy factor after the
assassination of Smt Indira Gandhi.
The flip side however is that now India is badly missing a constructive, relevant and strong
opposition. Political parties like SP, BSP, TMC and even Congress have lost their appeal. Indians
just don't take them seriously. AAP was born out of the frustration of the common man of India.
AAP and its member have played a key role in unearthing and bringing to closure many scams.

1. In about a month (between May and June), the former Delhi CM held 47 mohalla
sabhas to consult locals on how the MLA fund should be spent.
2. AAP had a long list of projects that officers said would need Rs. 10 crore to execute.
3. Party volunteers, especially IIT and IIM alumni, did online comparing and
consultations, and confronted the babus and made sure these works would be done in
Rs. 4 crore.
4. Officers said one CCTV camera would cost Rs, 50,000, AAP volunteers found a

gym from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 2 lakh
5. AAP sent project proposals to civic agencies on July 15. Estimates were ready in 15
days and were sent to the urban development department, which has sanctioned the
projects.

There was huge anti-incumbency in both Haryana and Maharashtra, and both of the governments

India is also seriously missing a credible opposition. Although AAP is still a state party, its
powerful existence in the state of Delhi, and the rise of Arvind Kejriwal would ensure that the Modi
government is kept at toes and that it doesn't falter from the hordes of promises that was made
during the election campaign.
Delhi people were disheartened, sad, and unhappy with the resignation of Arvind Kejriwal. They
were happy with the way he was working, and when they faced corruption again when he left the

Can the BJP win Delhi elections now?

Oh, BJP can definitely win the Delhi reelection! It is a super rich party, it has a very strong grip
onthe social media, the media (especially India TV, Zee News, ABP News, IBN7) are towing its
lines, it has Narendra Modi! Then it has support from apolitical people like Kiran Bedi, the
industries and capitalists are standing strong with BJP ensuring that coffers of BJP never run empty.
BJP won 7 LS seats in the 2014 LS elections and its vote % definitely did rise.
So, as per the logic, BJP can definitely win the 2015 Delhi election. But the problem is AAP has
repeatedly defied logic again and again. It defied logic when Arvind Kejriwal defeated 3 times
incumbent Delhi CM from her own constituency, a move which many termed as political suicide,
AAP defied logic when it won 28 seats in its very first election and it defied logic when it did
harakiri of fighting 430+ seats across the nation :-).
It would all come down to on what basis Delhi voter would give its vote. Will it give votes as per
the excellent oratory of Modi, or would it give vote as per the work (if any) of the BJP MLAs, or
would it consider the work of MCD which is under the control of BJP since 7 years.
Delhi MCD - A marvelous organization which after spending 13 years and over Rs 12 crore, could not
get a web portal started. It is an organization known as one of the most corrupt one. It is an
organization which recently got reprimand from Delhi High Court on its 'dirt drive' when the nation
is instead working on "clean India" campaign.
And then there is Delhi BJP which is so leaderless that it has decided to go to the polls without any
captain, err, CM candidate. Remember the videos which were circulated by the BJP in the run up to
the 2014 elections which joked how a team without a captain behaves?
The most honest face of Delhi BJP - Dr Harshvardhan has to his credit the removal of the honest
AIIMS CVO due to political pressures and how he refused to back another honest officer. Finally
Modi had to ask him to leave and go back to the Delhi politics. He would be back, with the
albatross of AIIMS gaffe around his neck. It would be interesting to see how Delhi voters welcome
him.
Since May 2014, Delhi has been under the central rule, and first it faced the power blackout, then it
faced the hikes in power rates, the crimes didn't go down, the inflation stayed the same, the
corruption was back to normal (Can any Delhi resident testify to the reduction in corruption during
Kejriwal's first CM tenure?).
I am sure BJP can win Delhi election as the strong social media campaign of BJP and the biased
media and the superb oratory of Modi might distract the Delhi voters from the ground reality.

What do you think about Modi in Ramlila Maidan on

the 10th of January in New Delhi?
Modi looked frustrated and angry. The anger was in fact very visible. He called for punishing AAP
because of the President's rule in Delhi, that when AAP had suggested dissolution of the assembly
when it resigned.
It is OKAY to attack your opponents in an election rally, of course an election rally is all about that.
However what was lacking in the speech was how he, rather Delhi BJP bring about the changes in
Delhi.
"One should do only what he is good at" - Really? Can a tea seller never dream of becoming the
Prime Minister of India? Should he not become one?
I was rather surprised when he suggested that AAP should go to jungle and side with the Naxals
because AAP is supposedly Anarchist. This is in contradiction with his previous statements - Naxals
are our 'own people': Narendra Modi, Narendra Modi favours talks with Naxals, Modi is soft on Naxals
Anarchism is seriously misunderstood. An anarchist is far right (especially in economic policies)
and he doesn't believe in the system of elections. Usually the people who disrupt the status quo are
termed Anarchists, however that is plain wrong! Arvind Kejriwal out of frustration (of media
attacks) mocked that "Yes I am Anarchist", however if you talk to Ashok Kumar (That is the fake
Quora handle of Anonymous India, A true anarchist), you would come to know that Arvind is
anything but an Anarchist. Is Arvind Kejriwal an anarchist?
Anarchism - A political philosophy that advocates stateless societies based on non-hierarchical
free associations
Read - Is the Internet anarchy?, Was Gandhi an Anarchist? by Ashok Kumar on Indian Anarchism
Anyways, I won't expect 99% of the Indian voters to have an in-depth understanding of Anarchism
as well, and perhaps that's why Modi used the word Anarchist loosely.
I didn't agree with him that corruption in PMO was removed by Modi in 7 months. This is because
of two accounts 1. It still has not been proved that during the Vajpayee and MMS terms there was corruption in the
PMO.
2. You again cannot prove that the corruption, if existed, has been removed. The common man doesn't
directly deal with the PMO. My friends who were involved in CWG used to tell me that wherever
PMO got itself involved, the work used to get finished quickly.

Modi himself admitted that the corruption has still not been removed for the common man, and that is
BIG! Read answers to Can any Delhi resident testify to the reduction in corruption during Kejriwal's

the AAP government.
As per most media reports, the rally could be termed as a serious disappointment for the Delhi BJP. The
target crowd was of 1 Lakh (BJP bets big on PM Narendra Modi's rally, eyes one lakh turnout), but it
was anything in between 25-35K. The buzz in Delhi is that the crowd was from 17-20K. Now, even this
number is very big and if you put the camera, it would look very big, however it is not HUGE.

Perhaps this was one of the reasons why Narendra Modi looked frustrated.
There was nothing much to be offered to the Delhi public in the rally. The LED bulb scheme is all fine,
but it has loopholes and can lead to a scam, of course, it is also a kind of subsidy which the media is
ignoring as of now. There was nothing about water, no explanation why Haryana BJP government isn't
giving Delhi the required water, no vision on how to fix the DJB, on how to tighten the screws on
corruption. It was very much full of rhetoric.
Of course, the statehood for Delhi was totally ignored as well.
Overall, I would give 3/10 to Delhi BJP for the arrangements that it made.
I would give 5/10 to Modi for the speech.

AAP is getting 39 percent vote share which is a huge jump of 9 percent as compared to what it got in
last Assembly elections. In last Assembly elections, AAP got 30 percent of popular vote share but this
time the party is expected to bag 39percent vote share.
According to the opinion poll, AAP is all set to bag 33 seats in Delhi Assembly. This is 5 seats more
than their last tally of 28 seats.
Whereas, BJPs tally is expected to go down to 31 seats from 32.

Furious Amit Shah pulls up Delhi BJP over internal survey

Despite Shah pushing for Mission 60+ in Delhi, his party men are not confident of achieving the
magical figure in the February 7 assembly polls. An internal survey by Delhi BJP predicting the partys
victory on 40 to 45 seats in Delhi has left Shah fuming.
And then the Delhi BJP is in tatters, it cannot manage itself. The infighting is full on:

would be on Bedi!

Who would be a better Chief Minister for Delhi,

Arvind Kejriwal or Kiran Bedi?
This was one answer whose response shook me up. As of now it has more than 120K hits with
about 7000 votes. I wrote it casually one fine morning, and it went viral, and I was getting about
500 votes on it daily!

Arvind Kejriwal entered politics in November 2012, created his political party from scratch, has experience
of being hammered by the media, knows how to control the party and most importantly, he has the
experience of losing.
Kiran Bedi is the panic button for Delhi BJP. Her political speeches are boring, she has no control over Delhi
BJP and hasn't been scrutinized politically. She joined politics just now and has a teacher's vision for Delhi.
It was due to Arvind, that Shah was forced to make Bedi the CM candidate. That's the only reason. Then
shouldn't it make more sense to have Arvind as CM?

Is Kiran Bedi the Rahul Gandhi of the BJP?

Oh, with every interview that I hear of her, with every speech of her I go through, she disappoints
me over and over again. She is not Rahul Gandhi, for Rahul Gandhi might be as stupid and duffer
as he could be, he is not arrogant. He makes me laugh, not throw horror at me by taking shameless
U turns.
Just yesterday Kiran Bedi said that she doesn't like to watch TV News, and that all the time they
show rape rape. She was referring to the Nirbhaya rape protests which the media covered. She
basically mocked these brave protesters who took the batons, water canons, tear gas so that the
women in Delhi get security.
When asked about the AAP's disappointment of Arvind not being invited to the Republic Day
parade she said - "If Arvind wants the invite, he should join BJP"! This is another horror. What does
she think of the Republic Day? I don't care if AK was invited or not, but showing that one needs to
be in BJP to get an invite takes me back to the Congress days. Pathetic!
She once tweeted that the political parties which don't disclose their funding don't deserve our vote
and now she says that BJP is following the law, so it is fine. Ughhh.
And this is her vision for the women of Delhi:

Why did Kiran Bedi leave Arnab Goswami's debate

without answering questions?
Let me put down few lines from the interview:
Question - "Did you know you would be the CM candidate?"
Answer - "How does it matter if I say yes, or if I say no". I thought she is going to leave it right
there, but then .. "I didn't know" .. Okay!
Bedi - "Full marks to the BJP leadership for making me the CM candidate, because I stand for
new kind of politics" Woah!!!
Bedi - "Arvind Kejriwal stands for non civil democracy. I wish he had better things to say". The
tone was like BAM! Then she says I am not talking about Kejriwal. Okay, right.
Bedi - "I did this, I did that, I didn't go abroad despite having scholarship, I this, I that ..."
Narcissism personified?
Bedi - "It is too late for the debate" (that despite she joining the politcs a bit too late!). Further
she says on the debate - "First we have to be civil. Doing a debate with Arvind, is doing a
tamasha" - Shouldn't let the people decide that?
Question - "Why did you not fight from New Delhi?"
Answer - "I have worked in North Delhi, I have worked in East Delhi ... I have worked in entire
Delhi, As a Cop, As a Social Activist. My choice is my party's choice. You (Arnab) taught me to
be diplomatic!"
"Diplomacy is an art, which is used in IFS!" :-)
Best part was the BLUE FILE Kiran Bedi showed. It was rather very very tragic. Then - "Either
you trust me, or you write me off. If I say it's my file, then it is my file. I also want to show you
another file."
The Kid is still alive somewhere :-)
When Arnab shows her the tweet where she criticized Modi for going on 3 day fast, she throws
a tantrum - "You are cherry picking, you are taking unethical routes! Why did you pick that
tweet from my 20,000 tweets?"

What?
Arnab - "You came 15 minutes late, you have to give me 5 more minutes" -Important.
Bedi - Okay, one last question. Answer to the question was "I have moved from Neutrality to a
National voice" ~ wasn't she always on twitter?
Finally when she is asked about the Anna Hazare, she really loses it, ignoring the question. I saw
a lot of pain on her face, and she just walked off.
Although the transcript is self explanatory, I would still put in what I understood from it. Mentally Kiran
Bedi is still in police. She cannot tolerate cross questioning, and she is short on patience. She loves
herself like anything. "If I show a blue file, say hawww and respect me" is the attitude that she carries.
The Anna Hazare question broke her because of this - Anna Hazare Hurt, Refuses to Take Calls From
Kiran Bedi: Sources. She already had given an excuse of other interviews (as if she didn't know leaving
an interview for which she herself was late might damage her image) and she just walked off to control
her outburst and breathe a sigh.

Of course it is politics, no matter what the BJP supporters say. By not inviting Arvind Kejriwal, which I
always expected, Modi has sent a message that he doesn't approve him. This message is basically for
those people who like both Modi and Kejriwal and the message is Modi doesn't approve of Kejriwal, but
approves of Kiran Bedi.

The Return of the Commoners

Today, exactly 1 year after he resigned because he could not get the Delhi Janlokpal Bill tabled
in the Delhi assembly, Arvind Kejriwal would take oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi. When
he was resigned, I knew that few would accept the reasons he said, and AAP would be facing
tough times ahead. It turned out that I was right and the next one year was torturous and
testing for both Arvind Kejriwal and AAPians.
Very few could have seen the turn around after the 16th May Lok Sabha results. I remember
discussing with a senior that with all the power at disposal, the BJP can finish off AAP pretty
quickly, using one method or the other. And BJP did try that, engineering the internal
sabotages and the media.
Shazia Ilmi left AAP when Arvind Kejriwal was in jail, because he was too adamant to not give
a bail bond. Media kept on highlighting every minor crack within the AAP as #AAPImplodes,
#AAPBreakUp etc, making a lot of AAPians nervous, and making the general public in India
think that the AAP story is over and it is just a matter of time that it dissolves away in the thin
air.
Many AAP leaders, if not Arvind Kejriwal, were so low on morale that they thought of forming
a coalition with Congress. For me, it would have been a bigger disaster - the coalition might
have saved AAP in a short term, but that would have been the death of the idea of AAP. For
most of the AAPians, AAP has stood for value politics, not survival politics. I remember a tweet
by @bharat_builder - "Honour is important, Survival is not". And I totally agreed with that.
AAP, even if it would have won 15 seats in the reelection, even if it would have died during the
struggle, but with all the core values intact, it would have continued to seed a lot of bright
minds to take up the battle against the corruption.
Thankfully, for the AAP, the moment of weakness quickly went away, AAP took back the letter
sent to the LG, and prepared for the reelection.

Delhi BJP has been since years been a much divided team, and that was the reason why it
couldn't defeat Congress in Delhi for 15 years. AAP knew this very well, and exploited this
weakness to the fullest. The most credible face of Delhi BJP - Dr Harshvardhan had been
elevated to the LS and had served the Health Ministry, so him coming back looked a distant
possibility. Reliance man Satish Upadhyay was made the Delhi BJP chief. I could never
understand his appointment. He never had a good grip on Delhi BJP cadre, he didn't have
much experience in the state politics, worse, and there were more credible leaders in Delhi
BJP.
It was obvious that the Delhi BJP leaders weren't happy with him, and AAP fueled this fire by
117

propagating that Jagdish Mukhi would be CM of Delhi if BJP wins the election. Satish
Upadhyay had to force Jagdish Mukhi to send a legal notice to AAP for using his photo without
his permission, perhaps the first in Indian politics!
Dr Harshvardhan, after being shunted out from the Health Ministry, perhaps wanted to be the
CM candidate again. In the last assembly election, perhaps he was the reason why AAP
couldn't get the complete majority, being a credible clean face. However on one hand was
Satish Upadhyay, the Reliance man, who wanted to be the CM, and on the other hand was
Jagdish Mukhi, the AAP choice for BJP CM candidate. It is rumoured that Dr Harsh was the
person who gave the documents against Upadhyay so that BJP is forced to make Dr Harsh the
CM candidate again.
The AAP expose of Mr Upadhyay did hurt him (plus the flop rally of Modi on 10th January),
however BJP still didn't pick Dr Harsh, and went on to import Kiran Bedi. This was going to be
the turning point to the run up to the elections. The internal squabbles in Delhi BJP would
now become full on revolt!
Meanwhile, as AAP kept on fueling the internal war in Delhi BJP, it went on quietly with the
Delhi Dialogue initiative, in a process created an awesome 70 points manifesto. Although AAP
was cutting off the roots of Delhi BJP, for the public it went on with the very positive election
campaign. The choice of colour of the AAP hoardings was impressive - a large of of it was in
White. The Apple Ex-sales head Adarsh Shastri effect was very visible.
The lower income group was always with AAP, perhaps angry, but always had a soft corner
for AAP, given that in 49 days the corruption in Delhi had stopped. Repeated apologies got
them back. The affluent class, highly influenced by the media, was still wary of the AAP. The
black out of the Delhi Dialogue didn't help either.
But AAP kept going. The Delhi Dialogue covered everything under the sun which affects the
Delhi people. AAP knew that being positive was the only way to go forward.
Meanwhile, Kiran Bedi kept on destroying the chances of BJP with her interviews. Even with
the friendliest interviewers, she kept on making bloopers. The interview with Ravish perhaps
destroyed any chances that BJP had to come to power. And NDTV kept on showing it again
and again, perhaps Ravish wasn't too pleased with her behaviour. The Delhi BJP cadre
meanwhile had done a fully fledged revolt; not only refusing to campaign for Kiran Bedi, but a
large group was in fact involved in negative campaigning against her.
Amit Shah imported the cadre from other states, imported the leaders, but the Delhi cadre
refused to coordinate, give logistical support and arrange the public. Shah arranged (hired)
the Panna Pramukhs, however they could not match the passionate AAP volunteers, who were
fearlessly, sincerely, tirelessly working their asses off.

118

HOLDING THE LINE

Rohit Prasad Nigam
After the May 2014 win, Amit Shah had dissolved a large section of BJP's IT cell, however the
volunteers drove AAP's social media cell kept on hitting back. #Mufflerman became the most
popular Indian political brand from an abuse. Also, on twitter #Mufflerman trended for 16
straight days. AAP got into the WhatsApp as well. On Quora, BJP could not match AAP at all,
with profiles of many BJP trolls getting suspended.
The final nail in the coffin of Delhi BJP was its own negative campaign against Arvind Kejriwal,
who had remained the most popular leader in Delhi. It was plain stupid to run such a
campaign against a leader who always had 50%+ ratings. I think such campaign works against
a leader who has less than 20% ratings, and on Arvind, the campaign had a reverse effect.
The final vote share tells an important story a lot of analysts overlooked - There were easily
13-14% voters who like both Modi and Arvind. The vote share of BJP during LS was 46%,
which fell to 33% in assembly election. This was the vote bank which AAP tried to tap initially
with the "Modi 4 PM, Arvind for CM" campaign, which was shelved as it got leaked from the
official website.
The negative campaign against Arvind ensured that this vote bank comes back to AAP. The
collapse of Congress and the others ensured their votes get transferred to AAP as well. The
affluent class which was wary of AAP went to AAP during this phase.

The win of AAP with full majority starts the new phase of Indian democracy. The most
important development is that now no Indian politician can take the protesters lightly. Had
AAP collapsed, tomorrow the protesters would have become a butt of jokes, dissent would
have been laughed upon, and the civil society would not have been ever taken seriously by the
political class.
Also, an example has been set that a crowd funded political party can not only fight an
election, but also get a thumping win. Every political party, except AAP, gets funding from the
secret sources. This not only leads to criminals influencing the poilicy making of the country,
but also allows anti-nationals to control the country politics. A crowd funded political party,
which keeps the donations transparent would be accountable only to the Indian public, who
funds it.
Also, AAP has now survived the initial struggle of survival, and is here to stay now. No matter
how much other political parties try, it is not going away. I am certain that AAP would finish
off corruption in Delhi, would create it a world class city and expand impressively in Punjab,
may be forming a government there. After winning over Punjab, AAP would expand to other
states and municipalities. This should be Code Red for Congress and several regional parties,
as AAP is bound to hurt them the most.
5 years down the line, AAP would be most effective opposition party in India, and 10 years

This guy:

Arvind Kejriwal

He started his anti corruption political party - AAP (Common Man's Party in English) in 2012
November, and his baby political party won 40% seats (28) in the December 2013 Delhi state
election. After INC (which won 8 seats) gave AAP outside support, he became the youngest and the
7th CM of the Delhi state.
However, after the same INC and the BJP blocked the strong anti-corruption bill, he resigned,
seeking the mandate again, hoping to get complete majority this time. Then, he took another wrong
decision. He, being a man who has the habit of biting more than he can chew, and due to few bad
advisors, decided to fight the national elections.
More than 90% of AAP candidates lost their deposits. AAP won only 4/543 seats. During the
election campaign, he also faced violent attacks. He took a really bad fall.

Would you like the AAP to grow in other states in the

next few years? How should the AAP grow under the
state leadership of your state? How will you

A couple of more questions:
Is the AAP is the danger of becoming or has already become a personality-oriented
party like many other parties?
Will the state leaders be able to grow the party within their state more or less
independently? What are the opportunities and dangers?

Would you like the AAP to grow in other states in the next few years?
Yes. However, the number of states should be minimal, and the states should be picked as per the
response received during the LS election of May 2014. The first state that comes to my mind
is Punjab, which gave AAP the 4 LS seats. The Punjab state elections are scheduled in 2017.
Hence AAP has good enough time to not only first perform in Delhi, but also to have a good
campaign. Given the fact that the size of the state of Punjab is not very large, the ground campaign
would not be as tough as compared to other bigger states.
As of now, I do not see any other state giving much donation, or ground support to AAP. Although
Maharashtra looks promising from the donation pie-chart, bulk of the donation is coming from
Mumbai/Pune. Perhaps, the support would grow only after AAP government in Delhi delivers
visible results and then wins over Punjab. There is no energy from the IAC movement left, and the
struggle for survival is also over, hence the sympathy factor is also gone. Now people would only
support if they are impressed with the results of AAP government in Delhi.

The municipalities of the cities of Mumbai and Bangalore can be tried, and AAP Bangalore is
already making progress on it. AAP won't require too much funds for the municipality elections,
and people might want to try AAP at the municipal level, given the fact that AAP has an image of
easing the everyday life.

How should the AAP grow under the state leadership of your state?
I am from Maharashtra, and it is a very big state. It is much divided in Saurashtra, Vidharbha and
Konkan areas with each area having different problems. Also we have urban centers like Mumbai and
Pune which are little similar to Delhi.
I do not think AAP is ready for Maharashtra yet. Caste politics, Language politics, Sugar politics and
power politics play a big part here, and it would be very difficult for AAP to break them right now.
However, AAP can try the municipalities of few urban centers and check the response. However, as
explained before, an AAP wave can only be created by setting Delhi as an example and then winning
over Punjab, before that it would be difficult for AAP to have visibility in the rural areas of
Maharashtra.
My Home state is however UP. The resource rich state which got over confident, then got arrogante,
then divided itself into the caste and community lines, only to get busy fighting with each other and in
the process destroying itself. UP gave Ram and Krishn. UP gave Atal Bihari Vajpayee. UP gave
Premchand. And still UP is perhaps the reason why India isn't able to grow fast.
Given the strong division in UP along the caste and community lines, AAP would find it tough to enter
it. However AAP has an advantage - The NCR region also includes Noida and Ghaziabad. Hence

126

HOLDING THE LINE

Rohit Prasad Nigam
winning these cities would be easier compared to interior UP. Kumar Vishwas might be the key to break
in this state, however again - AAP has to perform in Delhi first, and then win Punjab second. AAP may
try to fight few chosen urban seats from UP in 2017 assembly election, like Noida, Ghaziabad,
Lucknow, Allahabad. However it might not, as AAP won't want to have a distraction during the Punjab
elections. Perhaps AAP can fight the UP elections with full force only in 2022.
How will you participate?
I think I am a better writer than a speaker, so I would keep on writing. If my content is good enough,
perhaps the ground teams can use it to explain about AAP to the people.
Is the AAP is the danger of becoming or has already become a personality-oriented party like
many other parties?
Yes, this danger is definitely there. Having a strong leader at top has both its advantages and
disadvantages, and given the country like India which loves to do Hero worshipping, most political
parties end up in such scenario
All political parties in India have become a one man show. Democracy ends up reflecting the mindset of
the masses, and Indian mass is like that! AAP is hence also facing this situation. One example being the
trending of the hashtag #MufflerMan for 16 days straight on Twitter. I was against this hashtag and
hardly participated in it, the reason being that it would push AAP more towards sycophancy. Although
AAP got returns of this twitter trend, it also made AAP a more AK centric party, when it should have
been a vision centric one.
Look at the irony - AAP leadership was making conscious efforts to fight the Delhi elections on a vision
called Delhi Dialogue, but still the election became a Presidential one. The AAP central team had to
push very hard for the Delhi Dialogue related hashtags to trend, but any Arvind related hashtags trended
with much ease!
The AAP flags have to be changed as soon as possible. I don't like a flag which has the face of a party
leader in it. The huge cutouts of Arvind would soon be nauseating for many, we have to stop that.
However, the problem is, such things sell!

Put an end to such flags
Try this experiment - Write two tweets - one praising the vision of AAP, and another praising Arvind

Much awareness needs to be created among the AAPians about the dangers of relying too much on the
brand Arvind/#MufflerMan. We have to always remember that AAP was formed to have next version of
Democracy, not to have another Hero among us.
Will the state leaders be able to grow the party within their state more or less independently?
What are the opportunities and dangers?
There are usually three kinds of leaders in AAP
1. The imported ones - From other political parties.
2. The popular activists who became leaders.
3. The volunteers, who left their jobs just for AAP.
As of now, I have noticed that the Type 2 leaders are given the most respect/power in AAP, then
the Type 1 and then the Type 3. There may be exceptions, but more or less, this has been the case.
If AAP has to grow strong in States, AAP top leaders would have to groom the Type 3leaders, because
not only is their mind clear, they also have fire in their heart, but also that they are totally synchronized
with the vision of AAP. The Type 1 should be least trusted, as they would most probably leave AAP in
the bad times, or that they can indulge in internal sabotage.
The Type 2 leaders would have the problem of ego, and that they might not be in total sync with AAP as
well. They just might have their own plans, which although is alright, however cracks and fissures can
occur too easily as well.

Assembly polls of 2015?
Few of the interesting facts about the 2015 Delhi assembly election:
The political party which had complete majority just two years back is not been considered at all
by anyone.
A political party for whom obituaries were written just 8 months back is the strongest contender
now.
The CM candidate of BJP is a person who is 65 years old with political experience of just 10
days, who is not accepted by the local unit and who was totally against BJP and even Modi till
just 3 years back!
The two CM contenders are both associated with IIT and are from the elite public services.
Both CM candidates are called 'deserters' by their opponents. One for resigning from CM chair,
and one for resigning from Police services.
Delhi is the only state which has been giving headaches to Modi and Amit Shah since 1-2 year,
with most of the other states been steamrolled by them.
Compared to other state elections, Narendra Modi has given the least number of election
speeches for Delhi - Just 1 till now! Even that was not called a success.

How did TVF manage to get Arvind Kejriwal on board

for Barely Speaking?
The TVF team comprises of IIT-KGP alumni, and I think that's why AK has a soft corner for them.
Also, I think AK made a conscious decision to cool down AAPians who were very angry on the
constant Jokes being played on him, plus he wanted to set an example for other politicians that it's
OKAY to laugh at yourself sometimes.

Why can't the central government sanction Rs. 200

crore to Delhi for a water subsidy, while it can
sanction Rs. 2000 crore for a "Statue of Unity"?
Because the Central government doesn't need to.
Within 2 days of AAP govt, the Delhi ACB stopped the Rs 2,500 crore liquor scam. This means
AAP government now has the water subsidy money for 10+ years at its disposal.
That's the power of stopping corruption.

Link - Excise dept head removed over liquor fraud

There are two things that I wanted to prove here:
1. This scam was busted, that means this was an ongoing scam. Mostly such scams go on unnoticed
which causes leak of money, for years and years. Hence it means that a loss of Rs2,500 crore
was most probably happening since many years and now that has been stopped.
2. By stopping this leak of money, AAP is now richer by the same amount of money. Every penny
saved is a penny earned.

Although the Iraqi crisis is far from over, how would

Arvind Kejriwal have solved the hostage - like
situation for Indians working in Iraq?
Only 4 MPs are from Aam Aadmi Party. But they have been better than most of the other MPs. One
MP - Bhagwant Mann has made a very positive impact on trying to solve the Iraq crisis.

Here are few of the news items on the same issue:

ISIS forces advanced towards Baghdad, the company staff fled on June 11. But the internet facility was
still available. While surfing on Facebook one night, we spotted phone number of Sangrur MP

What is your opinion on Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal

providing 1 crore compensation on CRPF Jawaan's
death?
I think it is an awesome policy of AAP to provide a hefty compensation of Rs 1,00,00,000 to any
Police/Defense person of Delhi dying in the line of fire.
It is much more than the mere money; it is a token of genuine gratitude to the martyr's family, who
after the man has departed, has to face a tough life afterwards.
These men and women die for us, for our safety, so that we can do our daily work without any fear,
so that the goons don't threaten us, so that the Naxals don't spread in our cities, so that Pakistan
don't take away a part of India.
If you compare this to the economics, then even Rs 1 crore is nothing. Business getting affected by
goons is way more, the naxalism spreading would have much more monetary loss and the land that
Pakistan takes away would be priceless.
These men and women who die for us are the heroes of India, they are the superstars and they
should be the idols we are searching for.
Compensating their precious lives with just Rs 1Crore is still less, however we owe it to them.
We owe our businesses, our freedom and our lives to them! You tell me, is that worth Rs 1 Crore?

Why did Arvind Kejriwal refuse to remain the

convener of PAC if Yogendra Yadav and Prashant
Bhushan were part of it?
I have been tracking Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav for two years now and I can say that
their goals and the goals of AK differ a lot. YY never wanted emergence of AAP as a strong party,
PB wanted emergence of a strong leftist party and AK wanted emergence of just a strong anti
corruption party.
YY was the brain which guided AK in fighting across India after a decent result in 2013 December
elections. YY also convinced PB that AAP had the capacity of winning around 400 seats, which PB
said in his interview to Rahul Kanwal.
YY didn't even learn from the humiliating results of May 2014, and again wanted AAP to fight the
Maharashtra and Haryana elections, knowing fully that AAP wasn't ready for these two states.
Knowing fully that another couple of defeats would be a death blow to AAP.
Thankfully AAP didn't relent, still it gave into YY to fight the two Punjab seats, where it again lost
badly, denting the image of AAP.
AAP has won Delhi and if it doesn't perform well in Delhi, if it doesn't govern properly and if it
doesn't give India a new governance model, then it would again face the survival challenges. For
this, AAP has to focus just on Delhi for at least 1-2 years. Even this was not accepted to YY who
was again on the expansion spree. It was getting too hard to control him. He was repeatedly
throwing AAP to such situations which would suck AAP dry and make it dry.
PB has been meeting and inducting only leftist and hard cord leftist leaders and intellectuals. Be it
Kamal Mitra Chenoy or Ucchitthanandan, he wanted AAP to be full of only leftist people. That is
okay, however he wanted a strong communist party in AAP. YY understood his dreams and
convinced him that if he is the convener, then AAP would be a leftist party.
PB questioned the 12 candidates, complained to Lokpal about them, and Lokpal cleared 10 of them,
and even that didn't satisfy PB. PB blamed only AK for the funding issue, ignoring that he also is a
part of PAC and that thrice has the central government given clean chit to AAP.
Basically, YY and PB were planning a coup in AAP. They had gone beyond the reason.
It was obvious now that AK wanted them out of the most powerful body - PAC. And he was right.

Who is lying, Kejriwal or the duo of Yogendra Yadav

and Prashant Bhushan?
To certain extent, people at both sides are lying. Things are very murky right now. One of them is
lying with good intentions and one of them is lying with bad intentions. As more time passes, things
would be clear regarding who has better intentions.
These incidents reminds me of Mahabharat, which explained how a war is dirty and no matter how
good you are, it would bring out the worst of you.
YY and PB forced AAP to fight national in LS but never took the responsibility.
NE dumped the idea of AAP fighting Haryana and Maharashtra elections but YY said it was the
personal decision of AK.
AK and AAP didn't follow through in closing the loopholes in AAP donations, or having RTI in
AAP and in volunteers empowerment etc and that was rightly pointed out by PB.
Shanti Bhushan mentored AVAM and praised Kiran Bedi (everyone knows this by now).
Many leaders at both sides broke the rules set by AAP and wrote blogs and made leaks to media.
YY went against the volunteers of Haryana and pushed for the removal of Naveen Jaihind and also
didn't implement Swaraj in Haryana.
PB didn't campaign in Delhi elections. YY hardly did 10 public meetings.
PB included Kamal Mitra Chenoy in AAP, who despite not being AAP spokesperson used to
represent AAP in TIMESNOW, that too when AAP had boycotted it.
AAP continues to work ad-hoc like a startup, not focusing on processes. This leads to too much
firefighting draining the energy of AAP volunteers.
Insistence of YY and PB to make internal MOM public which would of course hurt party.

I can go on and on regarding how people at both sides did things which hurt AAP directly or
indirectly.
YY came to politics to have a say, and I also think that he wanted to become the convener of AAP,
despite of all that he is denying in media. He has the support of Bhushans and many other leftist
leaders in AAP. These leaders also want AAP to expand aggressively across the nation (which I
don't agree with right now).
AK doesn't want to leave the post of convener. At least for now I agree with him as AAP still has
not started to behave and function like a middle level company and doesn't have sound processes at
place. Also, AK doesn't want AAP to expand aggressively across nation, which I agree with.

Too much focus is being given to the internal matters of AAP - which is still a 2.5 years old party
struggling to develop. Like any other organization AAP would take time to mature and till then it
may be volatile. This is the time to be more patient and work with each other, not trying to expand
foolishly, rather to focus of processes and be more mature. YY and PB have been way too
impatient. YY wants to be the CM of Haryana however he won't become one unless AAP works
delivers in Delhi and then wins Punjab. PB has raised right questions; however he needs to be more
patient. Shanti Bhushan has indeed hurt AAP and it would be wise of him to cool off for an year or
so.

AAP volunteers should stop fighting with each other. If they gave 3 years to build AAP, they can
surely give a space of 6 months now for AAP to mature. Also, anyone who is questioning the
integrity of an AAP volunteer is not an AAPian in my eyes.

Why were Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav

ousted from the AAP?
I am not entirely happy that Prashant Bhushan has been ousted with the rest of the three. However, I
believe the rest of the three had other motives than to bring in the political alternative in India.
In July (or August?) 2012, when Yogendra Yadav shared the stage of the IAC movement, I was
rather surprised to see a new face (he was new to me that time) talking about taking the political
route. I had several doubts about him, however he spoke impressively. Many classmates and friends
of mine were impressed with him and I saw his IAC speech on my Facebook feed.
Although his speech didn't make me trust him, he did talk sense. Political route was indeed the only
way for the IAC to take. And that happened. At that time Anna and Kiran Bedi both stamped the
term 'political alternative' however later they expressed their displeasure with the formation of a
new party. Well, I have written on lenght about this so I won't go in there much.
Much of the planning of the Delhi election of November 2013 was done by Arvind Kejriwal (only).
The Upwaas in March 2013 by Arvind Kejriwal was not just for the power bills, it was also to
mobilize the volunteer base of AAP. This was done by asking the volunteers to spread across Delhi
with the message of AAP. By the time the Upwaas ended, AAP had got about 7,000 strong
volunteer base. YY and PB were not really a part of this.
After AAP got good enough seats in Delhi, and formed a minority government in Delhi, the YY and
his gang became more active. Although many including Arvind Kejriwal (and me, although that's
immaterial) wanted AAP to focus only on around 50 odd, mostly urban seats in LS 2014 elections,
Yadav and Bhushan wanted AAP to fight across India. Prashant Bhushan accepted on Seedhi Baat
that it is possible that AAP wins 400+ seats across India.
Most of the seats were given to the people close to Yogendra Yadav. Most of these people were
strong socialist or leftist. Prashant Bhushan traveled across India meeting people who were left or
far left, including people like Kamal Mitra Chenoy to Acchhutthanandan. There were rumours that
hard core Naxals like Sabyasachi Panda were in touch with AAP as well. Although I have nothing
against Soni Sori, and have my sympathies with her, it was of course the idea of Bhushan and
Yadav to give her ticket.
Please note that I have nothing against the leftist ideology and believe that a national party should
have voices from all sections of the society. However I felt that the left was trying to dominate
AAP.
If I join the dots, I could understand that Yogendra Yadav wanted to use the IAC platform to create
a political party which would fight across India, and people who are close to him would get tickets.
After the pathetic results of the national elections, the Yadav and Bhushan group still either didn't
learn the lesson, or wanted to weaken AAP even further. They started with two things:
1. Take off Arvind Kejriwal from the post of convener.
2. AAP to fight Maharashtra and Haryana elections.
At that time I was not aware about (1), however I was shocked to hear about the intentions to fight
the state elections in these two states. AAP had performed poorly in these two states in the national
elections, and it just didn't have enough resources to spare again for these two states, with another

couple of defeats to AAP in these states states would for sure close any doors of opportunity for
AAP in Delhi.
I had to write a Quora answer to Why does the 'AAP' focus only on Delhi on this.
Come Delhi elections 2015 and AAP had lesser support from Prashant Bhushan. His father went on
to say that Arvind Kejriwal is not a good leader, that Kiran Bedi is better than him, even Ajay
Maken is better etc. Prashant Sir himself acknowledged that he campaigned only for 5 candidates
which he found deserving. He raised exception on 12 candidates, however even after the report of
Lokpal came out, he chose to leak this news to media.
The support of Shanti Bhushan to AVAM is well known. AVAM was against AAP during the Delhi
2015 elections. The AVAM leader - @Ekhlac (on twitter) openly supported Modi and BJP. Later
he deleted all this tweets and again started to tweet as a AAP volunteer disgruntled with AAP.
Although Prashant Sir was a part of the PAC, he somehow missed the Rs 2 crore donation and then
he blamed AAP for not sending the cheques to him. I thought like AVAM and BJP, even he had the
access to the donation list of AAP and he could have caught this on his own before the issue coming
to light in the media 10 months later.
I know how tough the MLA candidates were grilled on the complaints of Prashant Bhushan. One
MLA could not handle the stress of multiple committees (Lokpal alone doesn't scrutinize, there are
multiple rounds of grilling involved when any complaint against any AAP leader is sent to Lokpal)
and fainted. Apparently there were rape charges on him. He was subsequently cleared.
Of course Yadav and Bhushan gave multiple interviews, leaked many details of AAP to media.
Their supporters in AAP, like Priya James (who was a part of SM POC) leaked internal discussions
to media. There were rumours spread about AAP volunteers, their fake or parody accounts were
made.
Personally I was also hit in this dirty fight. A twitter handle with the name of @bharat_buiider (I
am on twitter as @bharat_builder) started to use my name and my photo to spread messages against
AAP and AK.

The rumours against me were that I was meeting with AAP leaders etc for personal gains etc.
Anyways, the point was each and every AAPian who had substantial following was being targeted
by Yadav supporters. This had a big effect on the final decision of AAP.
The love for posts of Yadav and Bhushan was very confusing. After losing posts, they started with
the Swaraj Samwad, a conference (which Yadav wanted to use as a show of strength) was although
attended by many, failed to reach any strong consensus. Weird people like Tina Sharma, who had
slapped an AAP representative LIVE on national TV was a part of Swaraj Samwad.
The Swaraj Samwad was nothing but a show of strength and a stepping stone for a possible political
party that Yadav would create. I doubt that Prashant Sir would join this party.
There was no option left but to expel Yadav and Bhushan sir from AAP. Had they shown resolve to
work for AAP without any need for a post, had they kept on working within the party circles to
improve the party, the decision would have been different. However they had made up their mind to
damage the reputation of AAP by repetitively going to media, it was clear that they were on the
path to destroy AAP and AAP had to take defensive measures.

Quora is anti irrationality and pro logic. The BJP memes, jokes, taunts, jokes, rhetoric have no place
on Quora. And BJP usually doesn't have hard facts to back them, specially with speaking against
AAP
AAP has been more logical, articulate, factual in its approach. When BJP starts moving towards a

AAP has support everywhere, however unlike BJP supporters they don't indulge in abuses, bullying

So AAP supporters prefer to stay silent there.

illogical this die a silent death here. In fact Quora has 'banned' many BJP profiles for spamming
Quora.
This is encouraging AAP supporters on Quora and they're speaking their mind.

Do you feel like that when you see ads of BJP on TV?

Quora is a place for intelligent discussions and it would rather boomerang on AAP if AAP does

Answer such questions can really be fun on Quora! The answer was really well received.
Here are few of the ways you can do that:

Configure the software - Net Nanny, or something like that to block each and every content
on Internet which has the phrase like "Aam Aadmi Party" or "Arvind Kejriwal"
Watch only and only India TV and India News.
Read only the newspapers like Saamna.
Everything which you cannot see doesn't exist for you. That should be enough to ban AAM
at least for you.
PS: Unfollow the AAP related topics as well.
