Flexible tubing KERUI

Flexible Pipeline is a continuously milled length of steel tubing.
The pipe is externally coated at the end of the milling process before spooling
and final testing. It is ideally suited for well tie-ins, long flowlines and pipelines.
Flexible Pipeline allows for a project to be completed without field welding.
WHY USE FLEXIBLE PIPELINE
100% compatible with the steel pipe you use today
Safer, faster and much less costly installation than any alternative
Industry-leading QHSE, recognized by API Q1 and an API 5LCP
monogram (License #0004)
Long, continuous pipe lengths can be utilized in directional bore
pulls or in river crossings for quick and less risky deployment
State-of-the-art 3-layer polyethylene coating provides unrivalled protection in any terrain

Inspection suggested by
Kerui
The onsite inspections would be based on the requirements of
the end-user,
but here are some of the typical ones:
Electrical Current Testing for Coating Integrity (Geep).
Pipe-to-pipe X-ray As per the end user requirements
(identical to existing
steel pipeline requirements)
Coating Repair Inspection visual and volumetric inspection
as per the
manufacturers requirements. (see the attached Procedure)
Hydrotest of pipeline As required by the end user. This
equipment, water

(air), drying pigs and all other materials will need to be

procured by the
local contractor.

End Fitting Technology

End fittings are critical
components of any flexible pipe
system

Custom designed for each flexible pipe structure

Each layer of the pipe individually terminated

Designed to:

Assure a leak tight transition between subsea and surface facilities

Withstand severe environmental loads and thermal cycling
Stronger than pipe in burst and failure tension
Allow for the venting of permeated gases

Terminations can be any design API/ANSI flanges, hubs, welded, or

other
Most common structural material
is AISI 4130 low alloy steel

B31.4 specify
that in the case of the use of flexible pipe, the API 17B must be used.
FLEXIBLE PIPE IS DIFFERENT FROM THE RIGID PIPE. EACH TYPE HAS ITS OWNS SPEC

Loadout Options

Reel
Used in the production facilities
The most flexible form of shipping unit
Reels may be shipped directly by installation vessel or by specialist heavy lift
cargo vessels
Reels can be configured for multiple lines or special packing arrangements
Reels can be loaded directly into lay system drives
Simple onshore drive systems for spooling

Carousel
Generally more suitable for cables and umbilicals
Allows longer lengths from onshore carousels in Newcastle
Requires purpose built installation or transport vessels with suitable carousel
systems
Extensive packing usually required for multiple lengths

Bespoke Packaging
Coiled and banded - for short jumper lengths
Wooden reels disposable
Steel frames - disposable

Installation

Installation systems

include:
Horizontal Lay System (HLS) Installation
Vertical Lay System (VLS) Installation

Installation process imposes additional loads including:

Tensioner pad squeeze

Tension loads which vary with water depth
Bending loads over chutes
Compression loads during deployment
Impact loads and bending during touchdown on
seabed

Post installation leak testing confirms integrity of all installed

lines following installation
Typically at 1.1 x design pressure for a period of 4 to 24 hours
depending upon type and length
