Engagement / Program Manager Rakesh managed two
engagements during this 5 years period with BP. Functions and
AHMS engagements, both multi-year, multi-million dollar
(10M USD), multi-geography, multi-platform/ technologies,
multi-functional and multi-sourced, Not-To-Exceed contracts
with annual optimization and growth targets. Achieved 7-10%
productivity gains annually and registered 50-100% growth
rates.
Client: BP is one of the world s largest energy
companies, providing its customers with fuel for
transportation, energy for heat and light, retail services and
petrochemicals products for everyday items. 100 years old
company employing over 96,000 people in 100 countries. BP
has three business segments: Exploration and Production;
Refining and Marketing; and Gas, Power and Renewables,
operating across four regions in Europe, North and South
America, Australasia and Africa supported by Functions
(Finance, HSSE, Legal, Tax, etc,.).

a) Project Description
Functions started with transition from Incumbent (SAIC) followed by application
maintenance and development work for over 10 Function areas (eg. Safety&Operations,
Compliance, Legal, Tax..) across global user base, multiple applications (200+), multiple
application types, technologies and 24/7 service levels. AHMS was awarded to Satyam
(Alliance with SAIC as sub contractor). Involved application maintenance and development
work for BP R&M in the USA (10 sites), in the UK (4 sites) and in Belgium (1 site).
Consisted of 400+ applications and 24/7 service levels.

b) Contribution
The Functions Transition was completed in record 12 weeks. Over hundred knowledge
transfer
sessions, over 40 assurance sessions and 30 status review meetings were
conducted during that short period. Client accolades in the form of customized gifts and
signed appreciation letters were received from the BP Senior Vice President for a very
successful transition. This had 4.5-5M USD annual revenue. AHMS transition from
incumbent IBM and Melstar staff was done within 3 months despite different geographies
involved in the transition (across multiple continents/ countries/ cities) and few hostile
incumbent staff. The additional responsibilities include sub contractor(SAIC) and TUPE(ExIBM) staff management. This had 3.5-4M USD annual revenue.

Engagement Manager Aviva became the new name for the
former CGNU in July 2002. CGNU was formed in 2000 by the
merger of Norwich Union and CGU, itself the result of the
merger of Commercial Union and General Accident in 1998.
Aviva has grown from the merger of a number of businesses to
become the fifth largest insurer in the world providing savings,
investments and insurance to around 50 million customers. 300
years old company with 54,000 employees across 28 countries.
As an Engagement manager, the focuses was on ensuring
quality steady state and development services and ensure
revenue growth specifically in Norwich Unions General
Insurance and Norwich Union Central Services areas. He lead
a team of 3 members as a pilot project for 3 months followed
by offshoring maintenance and work requests to a total team of
10 in UK and India. The pilot was very successful which lead
to expansion across NUI and NUCS with over 100 members at

a) Project Description
As a Project Leader for NUI Established Systems, lead a team supporting 15+ applications.
Work covered all aspects of maintenance services: Helpdesk, Live failures, preventative
maintenance, enhancements, out of office hours production support, etc. The business
