SENIOR MANAGER PERSONAL LOANS

Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB) seeks to appoint dedicated, self-motivated and highly
organized Senior Manager Personal Loans (1 position) to join the Retail and Business
Banking Directorate. The work station is Dar es Salaam.

POSITION OBJECTIVE
1. To supervise and ensure that units/branches are complying with the
established personal banking lending policy and procedures which include
applicants assessment procedures, findings procedures and a loan monitoring
system designed to provide information concerning the performance of the
loans portfolio..
2. To ensure good customer service, improved performance and profitability as
well as effective risk control and management in the Personal Loan Lending
Division in line with TPBs objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:i.

To ensure efficient operations of the personal loans division and proper


co-ordination of activities with other departments.

ii.

To submit regular and exceptional personal loan reports to relevant


authorities.

iii.

To ensure that branches and mini branches are complying with


procedures for handling Consumer, Wastaafu loan, Education Loans and
new related products portfolios and a loan monitoring system designed to
provide information concerning the performance of the personal loan
portfolio

iv.

Giving a hand for the growth of quality loans (Consumer, Wastaafu loans,
Education Loans and new related products) portfolios.

v.

To control, monitor and supervise personal loan accounts and records in


the core banking system

vi.

To ensure proper loans documentation for all personal loans is made by


the Branch/sub Branch Manager prior to disbursement of funds.

vii.

To ensure proper loans review by branches and sub branches at the end
of each quarter

viii.

To ensure the division has in custody the necessary manuals, forms and
stationery relating to personal loans

ix.

To prepare monthly and quarterly review of personal loans performance


against set targets/work performance

x.

To appraise all staff under his/her jurisdiction

xi.

To liaise with the Treasury/Employers/Pension Fund Institutions for


effecting prompt instalment deductions from employees salaries and
pension proceed

xii.

To prepare plan and budget for each branch on personal loans operations

xiii.

To approve personal loan applications falling within his approval powers

Education:
Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline.
Masters Degree in related field will be an added advantage.
Experience:
Good knowledge in personal lending/banking with significant experience in business
relation management and at least 3 years experience at managerial level
Skills:
High level of integrity
Must be keen on details
Excellent communication and report writing skills
Ability to work under pressure and minimal supervision

Personable and able to relate to people at all.
