Introduction

Kolam is a form of painting that is drawn using rice powder/chalk/chalk powder often
using naturally/synthetically colored powders in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh,
and most parts of Kerala and some parts of Goa, Maharashtra, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand
and a few other Asian countries. A Kolam is a decorative design made in living rooms and
courtyard floors during Hindu festivals typically consisting of bright colors. In South India, it
is widely practiced by female Hindu family members in front of their homes.

In conjunction with our countrys 55th Independence Day, Indian Cultural Society of KDU
College (PG) has planned to celebrate it huge with a touch of traditional essence. As mention
above, ICS KDUPG would like to create a mega sized Kolam which a traditional rice art for
1MALAYSIA logo in our college auditorium.
To add more spice for this event, we would like to enter our Kolam in Malaysia Book of
Records as biggest Kolam. This record has previously created by ICS of UNITEN, Kuala
Lumpur with Measuring 43m in height and 17.2m in width it is the first time such an attempt
has been made to create a 1Malaysia logo using rice grains and grated coconut. So in order to
break the record we target to create a kolam which measures 50m in height and 20m in width.
We are looking forward to execute this event to as well to celebrate our Merdeka Celebration in
