$8,000 AT&T Donation Supports Jobs for Americas

Graduates Program at Prairie Phoenix Academy
Program Helps At-Risk Youth Stay in School and Graduate Career Ready
SUN PRAIRIE, Tuesday, September 29, 2015 The Jobs for Americas Graduates (JAG) program at
Prairie Phoenix Academy in Sun Prairie has received a big boost, thanks to a donation from AT&T. The
$8,000 AT&T donation will help support JAGs programming throughout the school year and the summer.
JAG is a state-based national non-profit dedicated to preventing high school drop outs among young
people who are most at risk. The program helps teens stay in school through graduation, pursue
postsecondary education, and secure quality entry level jobs leading to career advancement
opportunities.
The JAG program is critical to helping provide career and leadership development for our students, said
Lisa Bollinger, principal of Prairie Phoenix Academy. Through mentoring, postsecondary preparation and
academic support, JAG helps students stay on track and graduate high school prepared for college,
careers and citizenship.
This year, the JAG program will serve nearly 25 students at Prairie Phoenix Academy. The program is
offered by Forward Service Corporation, a nonprofit corporation that provides employment, training and
support services.
We are very proud to support local efforts to keep our youth in high school and prepare them for success
after graduation by supporting the JAG program in Sun Prairie, said Scott T. VanderSanden, president of
AT&T Wisconsin. As a company, AT&T is committed to investing in education and helping our young
people succeed in academics and careers.
There are currently 2 high schools in Wisconsin that have the JAG program within their school, including
Prairie Phoenix Academy in Sun Prairie.

The JAG program is a great way to help at-risk students graduate high school and get them thinking about
college and career opportunities, said State Senator Luther Olsen, Chair of the Senate Committee on
Education. I appreciate hearing from todays student panel and being invited to this event because I
believe the JAG program makes a positive difference for students here and makes positive contributions to
Wisconsins education system.
We are so proud to work with AT&T, said Marcia Christiansen, Forward Service Corporation CEO. They
have been a wonderful partner for the JAG program and have shown a deep commitment to helping youth
develop the skills to become successful adults.
AT&T has a strong commitment to education through donations to local educational organizations and
through the AT&T Aspire program. With over 1 million students impacted since its launch in 2008, AT&T
Aspire is one of the nations largest corporate commitments focused on helping more students graduate
from high school ready for college and careers.
