Course Objectives

The aim of this module is for the students to understand the principles, practices of petroleum well drilling
and oil industry.

Give an understanding of well planning, drilling techniques and equipment.

Get students to understand well design: casing and cement design, mud program, Bits, drill string design.

Give an overview of different hole problems, well control methods

Give an understanding of mud types, function, Rheology and mud hydraulics.
