Wednesday 4 November 2015 St Georges Centre, Great George Street, Leeds, LS1 3BR Purpose of the day Yorkshire and Humber Disability Sport Development Officers are acutely aware of the decline in people taking part in physical activity and sport and this percentage increases greatly in disabled people. Therefore they would like the opportunity to explain the importance and benefit to disabled people, their families and the support services of living an active lifestyle can bring. Yorkshire and Humber Sports Development are committed to improving the number of inclusive and dedicated physical activity and sports opportunities, however they would like to do this will the help of those organisations and individuals that work in the disability sector. There is an opportunity through this day to have a better understanding of the sporting landscape, an opportunity to work together to achieve shared outcomes, learn from each other so that existing opportunities can be promoted in a way that is understood, in a format thats accessible as well as a chance to ask questions, meet new people and network.
Who should attend?
Disabled Peoples Organisations, Support Services across health, education and social care, impairment services, charities and voluntary organisations that provide support services to disabled people.
