1. Scope of Works
Scope of Activities
This scope defines the minimum standards to be adopted when installing Electrical cable in
buildings and structures according to Electrical specification of client. Electrical cables shall
be installed concealed or surfaced-run in the concrete slab/wall according to construction
co-ordination drawings.
Site Procedure
Site mobilization shall be done with real time monitoring the conditions & progress of builder
works. Before commencement of the work, carry out examination of the physical condition of
the area. Photographs should be taken where necessary, prior to commencement and
during works.
2. Method Statement
2.1 Installation stage:
LV-Sub-main cables
a. Site survey of the proposed cable routing based on approved CSD by foreman /
sub-contractor together with Engineer.
b. Installation shall be carried out based on approved shop drawings & material used
shall be of approved brand.
c. In most cases, the distribution sub main cables will be in the form of XLPE /PVC
cables with copper conductors, all as defined in the particular specification and
drawings.
d. Cable containment shall be completed prior to cable installation. Draw the cables
into containment for installation of larger diameter cables rollers would be placed at
strategic location to ease the process.
e. If cables are to be jointed, then the manufacture recommended jointing kit and
methods are to be strictly adhered too.
f.
In the event of joints being unavoidable, such joints shall conform to the
requirements of BS7671 and clearly identified in the as built drawings.
g. Cables of the sizes and types specified shall be installed to follow the approximate
routes indicated on the drawings.
h. Cables shall be installed in such a manner that the cables do not come into contact
with gas, oil, steam, hot or cold water pipes.
i.
Where installed within switches, distribution boards, control panels and the like,
wiring shall be neatly and carefully bunched, being adequately supported and held
in position by means of supports or brackets or insulating material as necessary.
j.
After installation of cables, Engineer-in-charge shall check the complete works and
complete the Inspection checklist EE-INS-13 for Electrical cable installation works.

k. Engineer-in-charge shall arrange and request for inspection with the Owners
representative M&E clerks of works (COW) using approved Main con Request for
Inspection(RIN) form. ( See annex.2 )
ELV- cables
a. Site survey of the proposed cable routing based on approved CSD by foreman /

b. Installation shall be carried out based on approved shop drawings & material used
shall be of approved brand.
c. In most cases, the distribution sub main cables will be in the form of XLPE /PVC
cables with copper conductors, all as defined in the particular specification and
drawings.
d. Cable containment shall be completed prior to cable installation. Draw the cables
into containment for installation of larger diameter cables rollers would be placed at
strategic location to ease the process.
e. If cables are to be jointed, then the manufacture recommended jointing kit and
methods are to be strictly adhered too.
f.

requirements of BS7671 and clearly identified in the as built drawings.
g. The wiring to all multiple socket outlet circuits shall be carried out by looping from
point to point using twin cable.
h. Lighting circuits shall be wired using single and multicolored cables as necessary,
with live connections made only at lighting point boxes or switches.
i.
Cables of the sizes and types specified shall be installed to follow the approximate
routes indicated on the drawings.
j.
Cables shall be installed in such a manner that the cables do not come into contact
with gas, oil, steam, hot or cold water pipes.
k. Where installed within switches, distribution boards, control panels and the like,
wiring shall be neatly and carefully bunched, being adequately supported and held
in position by means of supports or brackets or insulating material as necessary.
l.

Adequate temporary/task lighting shall be provided if work to be carried at night or at
dark places.

*The above machinery & Equipment used quantity will be varied depending on site conditions and production
rate.
9. Waste management
The Rubbish which would be created from our scope of works will be disposed to the
designated dumping ground.
10. Special Control measures
The following general control measures against Safety, Environment and Quality shall be
required for our scope of work and special control measures are not applicable for us
