Learning for Success:

A School System for Inclusive Teaching and Children Leading their own Learning

GOALS

School Management: sets vision and regularly reviews and set the goals for teachers and children.
Sajeevta Foundation: shares the research base and demonstrations of what works through:
presentations, in-classroom demonstrations, reviews, resources to support inclusive teaching.
Staff Action Group for Excellence (SAGE): a core group of selected teachers will trial and test the
approach in classrooms and then mentor and train other teachers of the school.

RESOURCES

Teachers lead inclusive learning based on research, in school classrooms to ensure inclusive
learning where all children, irrespective of their background, learn successfully.
Children learn how to learn well including: punctuality, quality of production, concentration,
resilience, aspiration, and a love for learning; and essentially are prepared for success in life.

ROLES

In 2012, Chaitanya School-Gandhinagar and Sajeevta Foundation embarked on an ambitious journey to


demonstrate that a school and community driven partnership can create learning experiences for every
child to succeed, irrespective of the social and financial background of the home a child is born to. This
initiative preceded the legal requirement for private schools in India to reserve seats for children of
Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) under the RTE Act-clause 12. In 2015 the Central Square Foundation
began funding this innovation to support a research-based system that can be proven to work in the wider
Indian education context. In this collaboration we are most excited about defining systems of learning that
can be operationalised by school leaders and teachers to guarantee children gain learning experiences that
prepare them for success in life and contribute to a society with greater equality and commitment to a
shared future.
