b)
c)
d)
e)

To study how to collect raw data from Total Station/Collector.

To study how to convert raw data to stadia file format.
To study how to enter stadia survey.
Understanding basic command drawing and editing in CDS software.
Transfer data from CDS to AutoCAD for more editing and drawing

process.
f) Understanding the uses of AutoCAD drawing map command and editing
command in CAD subject.
g) How to apply editing and drawing command on the map.

EQUIPMENT
1. Total Station.

2. Cable.

SOFTWARE USED
1. Civil Design and Survey (CDS)

2. AutoCAD software

PROCEDURES
i)

PROCESS IN CDS

1. Open CDS software.

2. Create file for a new job.

3. Select folder to save the job.

4. Create new folder for the job.

5. Delete (*) at the db, then put name of the job.

6. The layout for the map will appear. This is call database layout.

7. Go to ENTRY at the taskbar and choose Electronic Stadia.

8. When the Field Table Selection appeared, browse the file that created just
now.

9. Key in all the stadia data.

10.A few option of the type of work use to make work easy for key in data.

11.After done key in all the stadia data, go to OPTIONS at the taskbar and
choose CALCULATE COORDINATES to calculate all the coordinates.

12.After coordinate had been calculated, choose SHOW COORDINATES,

and all the coordinates that had been calculated will be appeared.

13.After key in data and coordinates calculation process are done, store all
the data in database. Go to taskbar and choose STORE DATA IN
DATABASE. The data will automatically store in database.

14.If the data given only 3 points for a building, use COGO to find the
another one points
15.PLOT PARAMETER before export data to AutoCAD.

16.Put the border layout before export the database to AutoCAD by using
POSITION PLOT WINDOW.

17.Export the database from CDS to AutoCAD by using example.dwg

format.

PROCESS IN AUTOCAD
1. Open AutoCAD software and choose your file that had been
convert and exported from CDS.

2. There are few menu for basic editing process.

3. Then these taskbar for more detail editing such as curve line and
etc.

4. Next, to give a command for AutoCAD, just type on the keyboard

such as to create line, type LINE and then enter. The line menu will
appeared. Create the line from the begin to the end.

5. To cancel any command, choose ESC at keyboard.

6. To make the procedures easier, try use command by typing at the

keyboard. As example, type ZOOM and then enter the zoom out
and zoom in the images or type PAN to move the images.
7. AutoCAD also provide symbol such as tree, we can use the symbol
given or we can create the symbol as long the meaning of the
symbol still remain the same.
8. Next, we need to put short form of the symbol such as tiang
lampu to TE.
9. After all the point are already finish, we must complete the point
for the building and other linear detail and isolated detail.
10.If there are points that must intersect, choose the intersect point at
the taskbar and pointed it at the points that we want to intersect. So
an intersected line will appear.
11.After the editing and drawing process are done, we can see the map
before print it out.

12.Put all your details at the right bottom of the drawing.

13.The map are done and ready to print out.

CONCLUSION
At the end of project, the student will be able to use draw command and
understand application in AutoCAD and CDS software to draw topo map and
key data using suitable command such as put symbol, layer, name and apply
edit drawing command in the drawing to create complete topographic map. All
the objectives were achieved and the project was a success.
