Heading Into the Uranus/Pluto/Saturn T-Square in 2010

Many of us who live life as a spiritual journey might hesitate to admit it, but we are
finding the great vision we generated under the now waning triple conjunction of
Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron in Aquarius, has left us feeling a little as if we are adrift in a
ship of fools. In the middle of all this personal and collective change that we have
been experiencing, our relationships have sometimes had a tendency to lose their
moorings altogether.

We have all been dreamers under the Aquarian stellium, buoyed by the vision we
have created of how we want to live.

Yet travelling together on our separate spiritual journeys, some of us have sometimes
also felt that this influx of new energy has refused to be contained by our personal
relationships and that these have been blowing apart at the seams regardless of how
good and/or pure we believe our Intentions are.

The highest and most visible value we often hold in our spiritual work is change,
transformation, healing and progress as we seek to perfect our natures. These are
active, yang processes.

The necessary balance for all this well intentioned activity is the dark, holding, still,
nurturing energies associated with the yin principle, which makes up the other half of
the Tao. These two universal forces are in permanent interplay and cannot be
separated as cosmic law holds them together.

We can however, easily lose touch with either side of the Tao and find ourselves out
of balance in some way. This is par for the course on the spiritual path, as we grow
and change and adapt and become more of who we truly are. Many of us might have
done just this recently, carried away by our visions and the desire to actively
'transform' our selves for the brave new world and time which many teachers and
traditions hold is coming.

Fortunately, Saturn - now in the sign of the scales, Libra - will help to bring us all
back down to earth and help us re establish balanced relationships which embody the
sustainable and holding qualities of the yin principle.

Saturn in Libra is a time to get back to what makes relationships work at a one to one
level in the real, physical, every day world, and creatively reconcile our sublime vision
with what actually holds us together with others.

There is no way around it: this will require re adjustment of our vision and may at
times feel uncomfortably restrictive. We may for a time feel like we have lost part of
what the dream was in bringing it down to earth, and become too focused on what we
will have to sacrifice, rather than what we have gained - a grounding which cannot be
replaced by any amount of daydreaming about what could be. We are being brought
back to the here and now, back to where we really are rather than where we wish we
were.

Initially we might feel like we are stuck because of this. The stuck feeling is likely to
be strongest under the upcoming lunar eclipse on New Years Day which will likely
bring a feeling of emotional disorientation. On the heels of the this eclipse will come
two retrograde cycles: Mercury (communication) will be retrograde between
December 27 and January 16 2010, and Mars (action/desire) will be retrograde until
mid March 2010. Under these we may feel as if we are spinning our wheels at best
and/or pedalling backward in some way. Even if we feel the need for change, it will
not be the right time for making our minds up and acting decisively. Adjustments and
reassessments will be required, and probably a much slower approach than we would
like.

However if we take the time to slow down and reassess, we will have a good
opportunity to make new, responsible choices which hold and sustain and protect
energy in our relationships, rather than getting lost in a wonderful transcendent but
ungrounded vision of how we want them to be.

Many of us will probably feel somewhat relieved at this, because at least it gets us
back into known territory, back into the nitty gritty, no matter how boring or tedious
it may sometimes be. In the middle of all this cosmic change, it is easy to forget that
we are still human and that all of this change means very little if we can't hold our
relationships together in an authentic way. Without these there is no glue, no social
cohesion - and without that cohesion, the greater collective vision we are holding
cannot be realised.

Saturn in Libra is a two and a half year window in which to get real with everyone in
our lives with whom we have a significant one to one connection, and to find out what
really makes that connection tick. It will probably turn out to be something rather
mundane and boring, however Saturn is a great teacher when it comes to learning
how to appreciate things as and for what they really are - their true essence, the true
function they perform and their true place in the great order of things.

We've all done so much work on ourselves under Saturn in Virgo, and sometimes it's
been a tough slog juggling the dream of what could be with the apparent limitations
we have been experiencing in our individual lives and circumstances.

But now we have a chance to take what we have lab tested under Saturn in Virgo, out
into the field to see how it holds up.

Many of us have already experienced a bumpy landing in a part of our lives around
Saturn's ingress into Libra which took place at the end of October this year. Even if
we didn't feel it then, it would definitely have been noticeable in the weeks afterwards
as Saturn moved into its first square with Pluto in Capricorn.

Saturn and Pluto are the astrological heavyweights and they are now in a face - off
aspect - a square - on two of the cardinal points of the zodiac. The cardinal points
mark the solstices and equinoxes, which are turning points in the year and mark the
beginning of the seasons. Under this square many of us are coming to personal
turning points as well, as the Saturn Pluto cycle is some 35 years long. This cycle is
an astrological marker for large groups of people experiencing deep change at once
and for the cyclic evolution of collective consciousness.

In a matter of months Saturn and Pluto will be joined in this square aspect by Uranus
on a third cardinal point in Aries, and then by Jupiter. The Uranus Pluto Saturn t-
square is a rare beast because of the longer cycles of Pluto (248 years) and Uranus
(84 years) The last time this aspect was close, but not exact, was in 1875 and it was
in the Fixed (holding) signs of Leo, Taurus and Aquarius.

This time round we have the t square in the cardinal (initiating) signs of Libra,
Capricorn and Aries. There will be a face off between the forces of consolidation
(Saturn) power (Pluto), and the forces of freedom (Jupiter and Uranus). In any t
square, the point of focus is on the apex, which in this case is Pluto in Capricorn.

We have already seen Pluto in Capricorn at work in a wholesale breakdown of

economic and political structures world wide - and this process will only accelerate
under the t square.

The current Saturn Pluto square will give some clue as to which structures in our
individual lives are likely to come under further testing and stress under the t-square.

Here are some good questions to ask at this time:

*Where in my life do things look, sound or feel unstable?

*What needs to happen to make them stable?

Most importantly:

Where and how am I seeking to increase my freedom and power through a deepened
commitment?

Lastly, at this time it's good to remember that there's nothing wrong with having
castles in the air. That is where they belong. The only thing that needs to be done is
to build foundations under them.

May your stars bless you,

Sandra
