What is Missions?
Christian missions is following Christs call: sharing the
Gospel with the lost world
through Gods wisdom and
strength as stipulated in
Matthew 28:19 -20.
It is sometimes referred to as
the Great Commission with
a specific mandate to
Christian believers to go out
to the four corners of the
earth and make disciples of

Why Missions?

How can one prepare to participate in Missions?

We do it because it is a command from our Lord to go out. Rather than being a

burden, obeying His call brings joy and reward in heaven. We should therefore
fulfill this call not out of duty but love. For the love of Christ controls us, having
concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; and He died for all, that
they who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose
again on their behalf. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 (NIV)
Also, our Lord is the God of Love. He does not want any person who he created
to perish. This is why he is commanding his people the believers to reach out
to all the non-believers with the good news of our Lord Jesus so that they turn
away from evil into his marvelous light.

Although everyone is mandated to participate in missions, it is very important

that one should first consider the following:
Spend quality time studying and memorizing Gods word and praying for
the lost souls.
Participate in and learn from workshops/seminars teaching about missions.
Set apart time and go to missions with church teams/groups.
After the training, you can start witnessing to your family, friends and the
neighborhood you are familiar with before going beyond your locality.

Who should go on missions?

The Bible instructs all believers to participate in missions telling others about
Gods love and the sacrifice of his son to save the world. We are all duty bound to
go out on missions. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in?
