Product
Description

SikaSeal -250 Migrating is a 1-component, cement based, selected


aggregates and a compound of active chemicals, which mixed with water
is paste that can be applied by brush or spray. The active agents react
with moisture and the free lime present in the capillary tract to form a
non-soluble crystalline formation within capillary system of concrete.

Uses


Waterproofing of concrete elements in contact with water (positive and
negative pressure).

More common areas of application:

Basement

Retaining walls

Lift pits

Tunnels

Swimming-pools, reservoir, channels, sewage system and etc.

Concrete slabs

Advantages


It penetrates in-depth blocking the capillaries and cracks of to 0.4 mm
in width.

Freeze-thaw resistance.

Abrasion resistance.

Impermeable to water. Permeable to water vapour.

Can be applied to the positive or the negative pressure.

Chemical resistance (acid waters, nitrate, chloride, sulphated and etc.
pH 3-11).

Shelf Life

12 months from date of production if stored properly in undamaged original


sealed packaging, in dry cooled conditions. To protect under cover, without
it is in contact with the ground.

Substrate Quality

Concrete
The concrete shall be free from dust, loose material, surface contamination
and materials which reduce bond or prevent suction or wetting by repair
materials. This can be done by means of light, wet or dry sandblasting,
high pressure water jetting or wire brushing.

Substrate Preparation

Concrete surfaces must be thoroughly saturated with clean water prior to


the application. When the SikaSeal -250 Migrating is applied, the surface
should be damp but not wet.
If the concrete surface is very smooth (closed pores), additional surface
preparation must be carried out by means blastcleaning to open the surface.

Mixing Ratio

8.5 - 9.0 litres of water per 25 kg of powder

Mixing

SikaSeal -250 Migrating can be mixed with a low speed (<500 rpm) hand
drill mixer. Pour the water in the correct proportion into a suitable mixing
container, and adding progressively the powder, while the mortar is mixed,
this process is realized during 3-4 minutes to the required consistency.

Application Methods /
Tools

SikaSeal -250 Migrating can be applied by means brush or spray. First layer
of SikaSeal -250 Migrating must be penetrated well into the substrate.
For the application by spray method, the required air pressure is
approximately 5 bar and the delivery of air 500 l/min.
Apply the second layer while the first layer is wet (wet on wet), approxiately
4 hours at 20C.

Cleaning of Tools

Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use.
Hardened / cured material can only be mechanically removed.

Pot Life (+20C)

~ 35 minutes

Limitations


Do not add water over recommended dosage.

Protect freshly applied material from freezing and rain at least during
the first 24 hours.

Avoid application in direct sun and / or strong wind.

Do not apply SikaSeal -250 Migrating at temperatures below +10C.

Curing Details
As curing treatment, the support must be damp at least during 5 days.
